Retro Rubber Challenge #39...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge! We are celebrating flowers in May!

I started by stamping this old image of an iris. I always love to see the irises show up in the spring! I am not sure how long I have had the image – it came in a set of four flowers that I think I bought back in the mid 90’s. rrcb 39 1 (536x640)

I clear embossed the image and then watercolored with my zig markers. I LOVE these markers! So worth the price – I have had them for several months but never used them! Shame on me! rrcb 39 2 (640x330)

After watercoloring, I backed the image with a piece of perfect plum and then adhered to a soft stone base. I added a sentiment and was done.

Be sure to join us! Bust out your old flowers stamps, whip up a card, and link it up HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

It's Graduation Day...

Happy Monday! It’s graduation time and that means I needed to whip up a few cards in short order! I am using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches to help me out with this little project!

I started by heat embossing the image in white. Then using my zig clean color markers, I watercolored the bottom of the gowns, legs and shoes. On my first attempt I used clear embossing but you couldn’t tell what I was making! fms 1 (640x522)

I added the sentiment and then layered on the night of navy cardstock. The sparkle is a piece of glitter tape. That stuff is awesome! fms 2 (640x296)

I made two cards in the blue, white, silver combo and another in gold, brown, and yellow for another young grad. fms 3 (640x533)

I was pretty happy with these but mostly how easy the zig markers were to use. In fact, you will see several watercolored cards from me this week because of that! fms 4 (640x368)

A huge thank you to Jen T. at Freshly Made Sketches for picking THIS card as a Perfect Princess! I was more than surprised and thrilled!

Wild Thing...

Today’s card is very clean and simple! I was inspired to make something for the Paper Players “Wild Thing” challenge. I love that!

I found this teeny tiny giraffe that I couldn’t resist! Once I stamped him, I used a bit of chalk to color him up. pp 1 (563x640)

I added the sentiment, ran the card thru the linen impression plate and was done. Meanwhile, the song wild thing is stuck in my head! LOL! pp 2 (640x378)

A Journey of Friendship...

Today I am playing along with the Fab Friday sketch challenge. I opted to use a color scheme of pink, white and gold.

I started with this delightful stamp that I received for my birthday this past year. I love the sentiment so much! I just can’t believe it has taken me this long to use it! But I digress – I heat embossed it in gold and then die cut using a stitched vertical strip. ff 1 (540x640)

I also die cut the flag out of this beautiful gingham and the stitched circle out of the gold speckled vellum. I punched and layered the pink flowers using the SU! blossom bunch punch. ff 2 (640x505)

I put everything together according to the sketch and was done!

Retro Rubber Challenge #38 part two...

It’s the second week of the Retro Rubber Challenge and I sort of played along with it! This one is a color challenge and perfect to combine with a sketch challenge (i.e. CAS(E) this Sketch)!

I started by using two of the colors – red and yellow. Then I added black and thought – I just made a Mickey Mouse colored card! LOL! I stamped the “splatter” in real red using the SU! gorgeous grunge stamp set. rrcb 38 3 (534x640)

Then I die cut three quadrangles and adhered together. While I was busy die cutting, I cranked out three hellos and glued together. I added the quadrangle and hello to the front of the card and was done! rrcb 38 4 (640x427)

Be sure to play along with us at Retro Rubber! You can link up your awesomely colored card HERE!

Ever Thanks...

Happy Monday! I am popping in with a quick card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I started by putting together a couple of pieces of patterned paper and then added a thin strip of black to ground the two patterns. fms 1 (580x640)

I die cut the gerbera daisy in white and layered several daisy sizes together. A yellow button for the center finished off the daisy. fms 2 (640x485)

I added the sentiment and was done!

A HUGE thank you to Kim at Freshly Made Sketches for choosing THIS card as a Princess last week!  It is so much fun to play along with FMS and such an honor to be chosen!

I Love Stamps...

Today’s project is a bit of a departure for me but for a good reason. I am part of an organization called P.E.O. P.E.O. helps women to pursue higher education. As a daughter of educators, I was raised to understand the importance of education and to never quit learning which makes this organization a perfect fit for me. peo 1 (520x640)

Annually, we have a state convention. This year we were asked to make something that represents each of us. I chose stamps. I stamped this cute image and used colored pencils and paper piecing to complete her.  I added a piece of the plaid paper and some lucky limeade to a piece of crumbcake and die cut that with my mini scallop stitched square. I die cut the crafty girl with a mini scallop stitched circle and popped it up on the base. peo 2 (640x435)

I stamped the sentiment and then wrote my P.E.O. chapter and name as well. As this “picture” is going on a display board, I put a couple of eyelets in and added some lime green wire. Before I put everything together, I die cut a second base to glue to the back to give the picture a more finished look in case someone decides to look behind it. peo 3 (511x640)

I just adore what I made, it represents me perfectly as a stamper and sports two of my favorite colors – lime green and aqua.

Thanks for stopping by today! I am off for the weekend but will be back on Monday!

Supplies: CS: SU! white, lucky limeade and crumbcake. Lawn Fawn plaid paper. Stamps: PTI pure innocence crafty friends. Dies: MFT mini scallop stitched squares and circles. PTI linen impression plate. Other: eyelets, wire, colored pencils and chalks.

A Blueish Hello...

I am finally playing along with the Reverse Confetti sketch challenge. I have not had the opportunity to play along in months!

I started with some paper from RC and cut into the shapes necessary for the challenge. Then I die cut hello three times, glued together, and attached to the paper. I added the heart and a bit of bling and was done. rc 1 (640x517)

So while I was making this card, I die cut the heart and promptly lost the little heart die. *sigh* I can’t believe it. I looked all over and so far haven’t found it. So I stopped looking in hopes I will! rc 2 (640x426)

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. RC pattern paper. RC fancy words and hearts dies. Rhinestones.

A Reason To Smile...

It’s Wednesday! Yay! Today’s card was made for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. And although this is a nice clean and simple card, I think it took four times to get the flowers right! I was about to give up!

I stamped the roses and leaves and then die cut with my MFT pinking edge stitched squares. cts 1 (563x640)

I stamped the sentiment on both pieces and then pieced together on the card base. I did the same with the small confetti that you can barely see on the card. cts 2 (640x430)

That’s it for today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. Stamps: SSS many thanks and choose happy. PTI confetti toss. Dies: MFT pinking edge stitched squares. PTI linen impression plate. Inks: Altenew frosty pink, coral berry, forest glades, and frayed leaf. Memento black.
