Retro Rubber Challenge #54...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  We have a theme challenge to use snow on your card! And don’t forget to use a stamp older than one year!

RRCB 54

I opted to use paper that had snow on it and die cut a double stitched circle. Then I die cut a couple of mittens out of some coordinating paper and added a string of pearls to the edge of each of them.

I stamped the sentiment (from the PTI Winter Hills circa 2012) and then used a washi tape die to die cut the cream linen paper. I added a piece of perfect plum (that I also die cut with the washi tape) underneath to help the sentiment stand out a bit. A few enamel dots and pearls finished off the card.

Hey Chick!...

Happy Monday! Today I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I just got this cute chicken stamp and had to give it a trial run so I inked it up and colored it in with my pencils. I also added a bit of grass and put the sentiment on its side.

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 1 (561x640)

As I was using a chicken, I opted to use a so saffron base that I ran thru a chicken wire impression plate. I die cut a wonky edge on the pattern paper and adhered it behind the chicken and then attached to the card base per the sketch.

I used colored pencils to color in the image and then die cut her so I could pop her up on the card base.

Today I have a quick card that I made for the Fab Friday Challenge.

I layered these up and added a sentiment and button to follow the sketch. Very clean and layered!

A Little Something...

Today’s card was made for the Fusion Challenge and I married a bit of both images together.

I cut down a white cardfront, ran it thru the linen impression plate and added a sentiment. A couple pieces of pattern paper were added to the cardfront and then I added a bit of twine before adhering to a soft sky base.

I attached the mugs and was done! I used the sketch and some of the colors and mugs from the challenge image.

Hope Is Your Lighthouse...

Today’s card was made for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. I took a bit of liberty with the sketch but really adore how this turned out.

I started by stamping one of the lighthouses from the PTI guiding lights stamp set in pure poppy and memento black. Then I added the sentiment from the new SU! high tide stamp set.

Www.seejanestamp.com cts 1 (640x531)

I ran the cardfront thru the linen impression plate and then using a stitched snowdrift die from MFT, created this lovely curve. I had already picked out the pattern paper and then realized a bit of black was needed to separate the white from the pattern paper. So I quickly die cut a piece of black and then matched up the curves.

Www.seejanestamp.com cts 2 (640x404)

I added the pattern paper and had cut off a quarter inch of the paper when I realized that I had made a mistake. So I decided to attach everything to a lost lagoon base with a bit of that peeking thru.   If you squint your eyes and use a little imagination here is what you see: a lighthouse on a cliff with sand and water – the curved black and white edges symbolize the cliff, the pattern paper is the sand and the lost lagoon card base is the sea. Can you see it?  Or am I crazy?  Don't answer that!  LOL!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI white and rustic snowflakes pattern paper. SU! basic black and lost lagoon. Stamps: PTI guiding lights. SU! high tide. Dies: MFT stitched snowdrift. PTI linen impression plate. Inks: PTI pure poppy. Memento black.

Watercolored Avant Garden...

Happy Monday! Today’s card was made for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and I had some fun playing with a new stamp set.

I used images from the SU! Avant Garden stamp set and did a bit of watercoloring. First I stamped the flowers with a combination of so saffron and peekaboo peach for the lower flower and peekaboo peach and calypso coral for the upper flower. I used old olive for the stems and leaves.

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 1 (558x640)

I stamped the images on watercolor paper and then used a small paintbrush and some water and squished the ink around to get a watercolor look. A bit of marina mist was used around the flowers although that is hard to see.

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 2 (640x444)

I did some random ink spatters across the flowers and then added some pattern paper as per the sketch. A sentiment and some enamel dots finished off the card. Give this method of watercoloring a try. It’s easy and makes you feel like you are an artist who freehanded these images!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: Watercolor paper. SU! crumbcake and cupcakes and carousels dsp. Stamps: SU! avant garden. Inks: SU! so saffron, peekaboo peach, calypso coral, old olive and marina mist. Memento black. Other: SU! enamel dots.

Coffee Makes Me Happy...

I was digging thru my sentiment stamps and came across this sentiment that I have either never used or haven’t in a long while.

Www.seejanestamp.com 1 (571x640)

I do like a good cup of coffee, not as much as wine, but pretty close. So I got a kick out of this sentiment and decided it could just stand on its own.

Www.seejanestamp.com 2 (640x582)

I finished it off with a bit of red to give a pop of color to the card.

Thanks for stopping by today! I am off for the weekend so see you back here on Monday!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. Stamps: SSS choose happy. Inks: SU! cherry cobbler. Memento black. Dies: PTI linen impression plate.

A Poinsettia Thank You...

I never mind making thank you cards and here’s why: I think it is pretty wonderful that someone took time out of their day to do something for you, give something to you, or just be there for you. That is a pretty awesome in my book.  And in the spirit of that thought, I had to whip up some cards for gifts that I recently received over the holiday season.

Www.seejanestamp.com 3 (567x640)

I used a poinsettia stamp with a black outline and pink pirouette inside. I used markers to fill in the center and add a bit of dimension with a darker pink. I added the sentiment and was done.
