Retro Rubber Challenge 82...

Welcome to our new challenge at Retro Rubber!  For the first time ever, we are doing a tic tac toe challenge where you use three elements either across, down or diagonally.

I opted for green, die cut and twine.  All lovely elements.  I was going to make a St. Patrick’s Day card but I don’t have a clover leaf die.  Also, it’s hard to feel too happy about clover leafs (or anything springy – lol) when we still have 3-4 feet of snow on the ground. rrcb 82 1 (567x640)

So I switched it up and made a birthday card.  I started with several leaf die cuts that I stacked together.  They have a bit of coppery/gold on the edges as this is a die that I ruined with some paint and the remaining paint clings to my cardstock.  It did add a bit of shimmer. rrcb 82 2 (610x640)

I added the twine and adhered to the card front that I ran thru the linen impression plate.  I added the sentiment (from my 2016 Clearly Besotted Message Me stamp set) and layered the card front on the card base.

Confetti Rainbows For AYSI...

We have a new challenge at As You See It!  This challenge is to use every item in the challenge image on your card.  I find these challenges the hardest of all!  And I was quite stumped until I came up with this card.

#171 3.9.18

I started with a double layer of black cardstock for the wide/stripe element.  Then I die cut the word hello three times and adhered together for the one word. aysi 171 1 (568x640)

That left me with confetti, rainbow and stars.  I tried several different things until I finally remembered my SU! enamel dots and stars.  Presto magic – I have confetti of rainbow colored stars.  Whew!  I made it and kept it clean and simple to boot! aysi 171 2 (640x438)

March House Of Cards...

March is coming in like a lion around here and it’s also a new challenge at House of Cards.  The challenge is to use colored pencils on dark cardstock and/or the colors in the challenge image.

March Colored Pencils on dark card colors

As usual, I did a bit of both.  I stamped the image in crumbcake ink on crumbcake cardstock and then colored with my pencils. march hoc 1 (517x640)

I added a popped up sentiment and some pearls to finish off the card. march hoc 2 (640x462)
