Color Challenge

May House Of Cards...

Happy May Day!  It’s a new challenge at House of Cards!  The challenge is to make a shaped card or use the colors in the image or both.

May Shaped card colors

I opted to make a shaped card.  I started with a mini stitched scallop circle for my shape and quickly cut my card out.

I stamped the flower and sentiment before running the card thru my linen impression plate.  I added some dots and pearls and was done!

Retro Rubber Challenge 84...

It’s a new challenge at Retro Rubber!  We have an inspiration challenge to use either the color or items from the image on a card.

RRCB 84

I trotted out my trusty umbrella die and whipped up three umbrellas using the inspiration colors.

I added the sentiment from the SU! weather together stamp set from 2016.  I love the font and the saying so much.  And yet, it’s the first time I have used the saying!  Shame on me!

I adhered everything to white and then to a crumbcake card base.

April House Of Cards...

I’m not fooling when I tell you it’s a new challenge at House of Cards!  The challenge is to either use florals in the corner or the colors or both.  Oh, and try to keep it clean and simple.  I am not sure how I did but I loved what I came up with!

April CAS Floral corner colors

I started with a base of early espresso that I ran thru the linen impression plate.  I added a couple of pieces of pattern paper that I backed with a bit of black.

I added this lovely sentiment and some pearls.  I did get some florals in the corner as well as some of the colors so I think I did pretty good!

Kindness...

It’s time for a new challenge at As You See It!  Amanda created a lovely color challenge to use smokey gray, tranquil tide and powder pink or equivalents to those colors.

#172 3.23.18

I started with a base of smokey slate that I ran thru my linen impression plate.  I added a die cut card front of white to house my sentiment.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 172 1 (640x540)

I die cut the word kindness out of tranquil tide and pink pirouette.  I layered together and adhered to the white die cut.  Unfortunately, no matter how I photographed my card, it is really hard to see the tranquil tide.  You just have to trust me!

I added the quote and a few dots/rhinestones and was done.

March House Of Cards...

March is coming in like a lion around here and it’s also a new challenge at House of Cards.  The challenge is to use colored pencils on dark cardstock and/or the colors in the challenge image.

March Colored Pencils on dark card colors

As usual, I did a bit of both.  I stamped the image in crumbcake ink on crumbcake cardstock and then colored with my pencils.

I added a popped up sentiment and some pearls to finish off the card.

Retro Rubber Challenge #78...

It’s a new year and a new challenge at the Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s a color challenge – white on white with the use of one neutral.

RRCB 78

I really struggled with this challenge until I finally came up with this beauty.  I used a quilted impression plate and a mini scallop rectangle to die cut this “quilt”.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 78 1 (566x640)

I added a sentiment and then popped the quilt up on the white card base.  My sentiment stamp is from the 2008 Papertrey Ink Quilters Sampler sentiments.  I love this card!

January House Of Cards...

It’s a new month and a new challenge at House of Cards!  This month is mixed media and/or use the colors in the image.  I attempted to do a bit of both!

January Mixed Media Colors

I started with three quarter inch strips of coral, green and yellow.  I die cut a shape and then used embossing paste and a stencil to create a harlequin pattern on pink paper.

I added the sentiment and attached everything to a card base of crumbcake.

Retro Rubber Challenge #77...

Welcome to the last Retro Rubber Challenge of 2017!  It’s a color inspiration challenge just in time for the holiday season.

RRCB 77

I went with clean and simple and opted to use the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 77 1 (640x483)

I stamped the tree from the PTI Layered Postmarks: Holiday (from 2012) in spring moss with the script in ripe avocado.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 77 2 (640x594)

I added the sentiment and then ran the card thru the linen impression plate.  I actually set out to make a layered card with an old truck and some trees.  That ended up in the garbage.  Sometimes the card in my mind is not what it is in reality!  LOL!

Retro AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  Join us for this fun color challenge!

#164 12.1.17

I started with a couple of brush trees in pool party and flirty flamingo.  These colors gave me a retro vibe so I had to add a few fifties style stars to make that retro look happen!

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 164 1 (537x640)

I added the sentiment in pacific point and a few rhinestones and enamel dots.  A CAS card that would be easy to reproduce for all of your favorite friends and family!

Retro Rubber Challenge #75...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s a color inspiration and the challenge image provides a lot of color choices!

RRCB 75

I started with this image from Clearly Gina K Always Autumn from 2014.  I used my colored pencils before adding the sentiment from Papertrey Ink’s Keep It Simple Thanksgiving (2014).

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 75 1 (640x545)

Using the sketch from Paper Craft Crew, I added some white jute ribbon and a couple of pieces of cardstock – early espresso and crushed curry.  The early espresso with the chevron cut outs was one of the scraps that I found that went perfectly with the sketch and color challenge.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 75 2 (640x414)

I layered everything together and then added a few dots and pearls.
