Layered Up For House Of Cards...

Welcome to a new House of Cards Challenge! This month we want you to make a layered card, use these lovely colors or both! I opted to go with a layered card but use fall colors instead.

November Lots of layers and or colors

I die cut stitched panels in more mustard and cajun craze. Then I die cut a fishtail flag out of white and a layer of printed vellum. hoc nov 1 (535x640)

I stamped (using second generation stamping) two leaves in more mustard and cajun craze and added the sentiment. I layered everything up and was done! hoc nov 2 (640x539)

Going Green For The October House Of Cards...

Welcome to the October House of Cards challenge! This month we are asking you to make a gatefold card and/or use these luscious green colors.

October 2016 Gatefold Cards and or colors

I have to be honest – I hate multi fold cards! This stems from a bad (read: couldn’t figure it out) folding experience years ago at my stamp club. It was horrible and I suffered nightmares for weeks. LOL! Of course not, but it pretty much put paid to me ever wanting to make a multi fold card. For me, making a multi fold card is like seeing Sasquatch in the wild. It can happen but it will be a rare occurrence! hoc oct 1 (559x640)

So I stuck with the green colors instead and made a single fold card! I started with the multi-layer moon stamp that I stamped using multi colors of green. I made some flags using two solid greens and some pattern paper. hoc oct 2 (640x382)

I adhered the flags, added the sentiment and popped the moon up on the card base. I added a few stars and I was done.

It’s your turn! Go forth and produce many multi-layer cards and link them up HERE! Have a great rest of the weekend! Thanks for stopping by and I will see you Monday!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. SU! mint macaron and emerald envy. Lawn Fawn Christmas plaid. Inks: Memento black. SU! mint macaron and emerald envy. Stamps: Altenew to the moon. Other: SU! enamel stars.

For The Birds For House Of Cards...

Welcome to our new challenge at House of Cards! This month you get to use either a bird on your card, the colors or both.

September 2016 Bird and or colors

I tried a mix of both. I stamped the image and watercolored the birds in peach and grays. I added a bit of grass and sky and then die cut using a double stitched oval. hoc sept 1 (565x640)

I popped my image up on a piece of pattern paper, added some twine and put everything together – with just a smidge of bling. hoc sept 2 (640x592)

Be sure to play along with us – these are beautiful colors so I am sure you can make something fabulous! Link up HERE!

Thanks For The August House Of Cards...

Welcome to a new challenge at the House of Cards! This month our challenge is to have you use twine and/or these lovely colors on a card for us!

August 2016 Twine and or colors

It took some doing but I came up with a card I liked that incorporated both the colors and the twine. I started by stamping the large flower in sweet blush with autumn rose accents and the smaller flower (which you can’t see very well due to the sentiment) in autumn rose with sweet blush accents. I added the centers in bright yellow. hoc aug 1 (541x640)

To create my card, I die cut this dotted circle around the flowers then added the sentiment. For the sentiment, I stamped on white and used the washi label punch to create. I added a bit of twine because I was just feeling that it went well with the images and colors. hoc aug 2 (640x427)

I put everything together using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

Be sure to play along with us this month! Just link up your card HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! I have a full week of cards so be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Cheers For The House Of Cards July Challenge...

Welcome to a new month long challenge at the House of Cards! Our challenge is to use either the colors in the challenge image and/or fruit or drink.

July 2016 Fruit or drink and or colors

Well, it didn’t take me long to decide on drink – as in white wine – my favorite drink of the summer! I made a cute tag today instead of a card. So I die cut the tag base in kraft. Then I added some bright washi tape to white card stock and cut out the second tag. hoc jul 1 (486x640)

I stamped the sentiment and ran both pieces of the tag thru my linen impression plate. To make my wine glass, I die cut the white wine glass out of linen vellum paper and added a bit of daffodil delight for the wine. Then I popped it up on the tag. hoc jul 2 (603x640)

I added some bling and twine and was done! Be sure to play along with us and link up your cards HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today!

2 HOC February 2016 shaped cards no squares or rectangles

So in honor of Valentine’s Day, I made a heart!
