Inspiration Challenge

Retro Rubber Challenge #57...

It’s time for a new Retro Rubber Challenge! We have a color inspiration for you to try!

Due to a pinched nerve in my back that happened last Friday, I am on the injured reserve list and did not get a card done for the challenge. It also sidetracked me from getting any cards done so I am not sure when I will have my next post! Please hang in there with me!

In the meantime, click HERE to go to the Retro Rubber site and see the AMAZING design team creations! They are really outstanding! Plus we have a great guest designer in Lynne Jardine!

Have a great week! I hope to be well enough to get some cards done for next week but at this time it is all up in the air! February has been an interesting month for me – with the crud and now my back – good gravy!

Happy Crafting!

A Little Something...

Today’s card was made for the Fusion Challenge and I married a bit of both images together.

I cut down a white cardfront, ran it thru the linen impression plate and added a sentiment. A couple pieces of pattern paper were added to the cardfront and then I added a bit of twine before adhering to a soft sky base. fusion 1 (554x640)

I attached the mugs and was done! I used the sketch and some of the colors and mugs from the challenge image. fusion 2 (640x413)

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI white and rustic snowflakes. SU! poppy parade, crumbcake and soft sky. Stamps: PTI Christmas critters sentiments. Dies: PTI linen impression plate. MFT warm and fuzzy. Other: SU! pool party twine.

Retro Rubber Challenge #53 part two...

It’s the second week of the Retro Rubber Challenge so I whipped up a clean and simple card using colors inspired by the challenge.

I die cut three hour glass dies in white, real red and garden green. All three colors had been run thru the linen impression plate first. rrcb 53 3 (571x640)

I attached the white die to a crumbcake base and then added three red flags and three green flags. A sentiment finishes off the card. rrcb 53 4 (640x406)

There’s still time to play so be sure to link up your card HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! I will be back Friday!

Retro Rubber Challenge #53...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge! This is our last one for 2016! I can’t believe the year is almost over! This challenge is a color inspiration based on the picture in the challenge image.

I used a palette of cream and white with just a smidge of red and green thrown in. I started with some white texture paste and a snowfall stencil. I added the paste to the cream cardstock that I had run thru the linen impression plate and cut down a bit to go on the white card base. rrcb 53 1 (575x640)

I stamped the sentiment (circa 2015) and then added a die cut set of holly leaves and berries on the edge. Finally, I popped the sentiment up over the card front. I love the simplicity of the card with all that neutral and small pop of color. rrcb 53 2 (640x463)

It’s your turn! Be sure to play along and link up your card HERE!

I am entering this card in the current Paper Players challenge – snowflakes.

I thought I would whip up a fall leaf wreath! Say that three times fast! I used the PTI twig wreath stamp set and got to work. rrcb 47 1 (547x640)

I stamped the wreath and then added a variety of branches and some leaves. I added the sentiment and then trimmed the card front down to fit on the card base. rrcb 47 2 (640x400)

Retro Thanks...

A quick CAS card for Friday! And a one layer card for the One Layer Simplicity challenge which wanted us to go retro! olc 1 (519x640)

I busted out my brand new retro thank you stamps and set to work. I stamped a few images in retro colors and then added the sentiment. olc 2 (640x428)

Wine For The Birthday Girl...

It’s Thursday already and here I am wondering where the week went! For once I am early and have a birthday card done for a friend of mine who will celebrate next week. She loves wine and so I had to make a wine inspired card. birthday 1 (540x640)

I started by stamping a wine opener in calypso coral and then die cutting. I also die cut a double stitched rectangle and adhered to the card base along with a stripe of pattern paper. birthday 2 (640x315)

I popped up the wine opener and added the sentiment. I am entering this card in the Inspired By All The Little Things and Fab Friday.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: SU! white and calypso coral. Pattern paper from stash. Stamps: SSS wine aerobics. PTI KIS birthday. Dies: PTI linen impression plate. SSS wine aerobics. MFT double stitched rectangles. Inks: SU! calypso coral. Memento black.

I have been seeing beautiful sunflowers all over town and that inspired me to dig out a sunflower stamp and see what I could do with it.  I heat embossed the image in black on watercolor paper. And using distress inks, watercolored the image. 9 (548x640)

I cut down the paper and backed it with a piece of crushed curry and then adhered to a kraft base. The sentiment was chosen based on its length as I planned to stamp it up the side of the image and wanted something that would balance well. 10 (640x477)

I am entering my card in the Inspired By All The Little Things challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today! I am taking Friday off as well as the weekend so I will see you back here on Monday!

Supplies: CS: PTI kraft. SU! crushed curry. Watercolor paper. Stamps: Clearly Besotted miniature florals 2. Neat & Tangled Scandinavian prints.

Cast Thy Anchor...

Hello there! I am continuing my sailing theme with a super clean and simple card. I will be entering this in The Curtain Call challenge as well.

I started by stamping five real red stripes and then adding the sentiment. I am using the sketch from the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge that closed yesterday. I knew I wouldn’t make the cut but I loved the sketch and wanted to see what I could create! cts cc 1 (553x640)

I ran the single layer card thru the linen impression plate and added some bling. cts cc 2 (640x414)

That’s it for me today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!
