#141 1.13.17

I started by die cutting pierced fishtail, a pierced rectangle and a mini scallop stitched rectangle out of coordinating papers. Then I stamped the flower image on the white square and layered everything together. aysi 141 1 (640x531)

I stamped the sentiment and die cut the washi tape shape, popped it up over the other papers and added a button to finish everything off. aysi 141 2 (640x439)

Thank You For Being A Friend...

Happy Wednesday! Today I am playing along with two challenges – The Paper Players (color) and Sunday Stamps (sketch).

I started with my new SU! bookcase builder stamp set and created three shelves. Then I added one item on each shelf in riding hood red. pp ss 1 (526x640)

I debated about a sentiment and decided to tuck it in between the bookshelves. I also ended up using a bit of red pencil on the images to darken them up a bit.   Clean and simple! pp ss 2 (640x471)

A Poinsettia Thank You...

I never mind making thank you cards and here’s why: I think it is pretty wonderful that someone took time out of their day to do something for you, give something to you, or just be there for you. That is a pretty awesome in my book.  And in the spirit of that thought, I had to whip up some cards for gifts that I recently received over the holiday season. 3 (567x640)

I used a poinsettia stamp with a black outline and pink pirouette inside. I used markers to fill in the center and add a bit of dimension with a darker pink. I added the sentiment and was done. 4 (640x441)

I have been seeing beautiful sunflowers all over town and that inspired me to dig out a sunflower stamp and see what I could do with it.  I heat embossed the image in black on watercolor paper. And using distress inks, watercolored the image. 9 (548x640)

I cut down the paper and backed it with a piece of crushed curry and then adhered to a kraft base. The sentiment was chosen based on its length as I planned to stamp it up the side of the image and wanted something that would balance well. 10 (640x477)

I am entering my card in the Inspired By All The Little Things challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today! I am taking Friday off as well as the weekend so I will see you back here on Monday!

Supplies: CS: PTI kraft. SU! crushed curry. Watercolor paper. Stamps: Clearly Besotted miniature florals 2. Neat & Tangled Scandinavian prints.

A Feathery Thank You...

I don’t know about you – but I have Olympics fever. It hits me every two years, sometimes in the summer and sometimes in the winter! I am watching the women’s gymnastics as I write this post and I am simply amazed at how crazy good all of the athletes are! These ladies look light as a feather as they are flying around the various events.

Thus, a perfect segue to my feathery card! I borrowed the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and the colors from the Color Throwdown. fms ctd 1 (535x640)

I stamped two feathers and then did a bit of splattering around the card. I adhered the card front to the base and then added the sentiment that I popped up a bit. fms ctd 2 (640x456)

Thanks stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI white and kraft. Stamps: SU! lovely amazing you and what I love. Dies: PTI linen impression plate. SSS sketchy banner. Inks: Memento black. PTI Hawaiian shores and aqua mist.

Thanks For The August House Of Cards...

Welcome to a new challenge at the House of Cards! This month our challenge is to have you use twine and/or these lovely colors on a card for us!

August 2016 Twine and or colors

It took some doing but I came up with a card I liked that incorporated both the colors and the twine. I started by stamping the large flower in sweet blush with autumn rose accents and the smaller flower (which you can’t see very well due to the sentiment) in autumn rose with sweet blush accents. I added the centers in bright yellow. hoc aug 1 (541x640)

To create my card, I die cut this dotted circle around the flowers then added the sentiment. For the sentiment, I stamped on white and used the washi label punch to create. I added a bit of twine because I was just feeling that it went well with the images and colors. hoc aug 2 (640x427)

I put everything together using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

Be sure to play along with us this month! Just link up your card HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! I have a full week of cards so be sure to pop in tomorrow!
