Thinking of You

Yellow Mums...

Thanks to the Simon Says Stamp Stamptember celebration I was able to pick up these beautiful chrysanthemums layering stamps. So easy to use to create flowers that look like you spent hours on them. 1 (542x640)

I stamped three flowers and added a few leaves. After stamping the sentiment, I ran the card thru my linen plate and was done. 2 (640x451)

I am entering this card in a new challenge site called The Flower Challenge! Love it! I have tons of flowers so I am looking forward to playing along with them regularly!

SAF Drips & Splatters...

For this challenge we got to get down and dirty. If you love flinging paint (or food!), this is the challenge for you! Lizzie Jones ran us thru the different ways to add splatter to your card. You may think that splatter is splatter but it is not! I learned a few new tips and tricks!

I used some distress inks to make puddles of color for splatter on my card. I picked four bright colors and set to work. I opted to go with the more traditional types of splatter than the long strings and big drips. saf splatter 1 (567x640)

I was about two colors in when I should have heeded Lizzie’s advice to cover up anything you don’t want splatter on! Including you! I am pretty sure I have a variety of ink colors on my face! saf splatter 2 (640x460)

But what fun- it didn’t take long to make and I love the brightness of the overall look. I added the sentiment, flags and some dots and bling to finish the card.

Next – my last challenge for the SAF – mum’s the word!

Thinking Of You...

Happy Friday! I decided to use the sketch from the current As You See It challenge and the flower theme from Retro Rubber to make another card. So I stamped the image and used my chalks to color it. 3 (640x511)

I added a piece of striped black paper to the side before adhering to the soft stone base. I stamped the sentiment and then die cut using my sketchy banner die.  I added a bit of a soft curl to the sentiment before attaching and then added a couple of pearls and a candy dot. 4 (640x372)

I don’t know about you but I am glad it’s Friday and a long weekend! I am hoping to get all kinds of crafty stuff done but I will see what I get accomplished!

Thanks for stopping by today! I am off for the weekend but will be back on Monday.

Supplies: CS: PTI white, black stripes, and soft stone. Stamps: Stamp from stash. PTI keep it simple thinking of you. Other: PTI linen impression plate. SSS sketchy banner. Chalks.

Thinking Of You For AYSI...

Welcome to the new As You See It Challenge. Today we have a color challenge for you – very vanilla, soft sky, and soft suede. Although these are Stampin’ Up! colors feel free to use whatever you have.

I was a bit lost using these colors. And tried a variety of things before finally stamping this flower image in soft sky. Then I used my chevron dies to cut up the image and put back together on a background of soft sky paper. aysi 133 1 (547x640)

I added the sentiment in soft suede, a few pearls and adhered everything together. aysi 133 2 (640x424)

A Quilt Made Of Banners...

Welcome to Wednesday! Today’s card was made for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge and the Fab Friday color challenge (pool party, so saffron, and calypso coral). cts ff 1 (537x640)

I really wanted to come up with something super clever for the sketch but I just kept coming back to using my sketchy banner die and layering three die cuts. I chose some paper that kind of reminded me of material that you would put together to make a quilt. cts ff 2 (640x467)

I quickly die cut the banners and adhered them to the card base. I added the sentiment and some candy dots and I was done. Super clean but I think this is my favorite card of the week!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI white, polka dot parade and monthly moments. SU! pool party. Stamps: SU! pedal pusher. Dies: SSS sketchy banner. PTI linen impression plate. Other: SU! candy dots.

Orange You Glad I Am Thinking Of You...

Hello! Today I am playing along with the Pals Paper Arts challenge. It is a sketch challenge and I played a little fast and loose with it.

I started by stamping the image with a distress ink and then misting with water. I then stamped it on watercolor paper and let it dry. ppa 1 (509x640)

I added the image to a piece of pumpkin pie and then tied some linen thread around it. I adhered to the crumbcake base, added a sentiment, and was done. ppa 2 (640x438)

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Retro Rubber Challenge #33 part two...

It’s the second week of the Retro Rubber sketch challenge! And I am using the lovely colors from the Sunday Stamps challenge of pink, chocolate, and white. Bonus – I can play along with the NBUS challenge again today. Does this mean I have way too many new stamps? I think so!!

I switched things up a bit by using a large sentiment die cut for the shapes. I cut three sentiments out of pink pirouette and adhered them together using Elmer’s spray adhesive. This stuff makes life so much easier! rrcb ss 1 (640x543)

I added the rest of the sentiment in chocolate chip ink and then piled on the bling. This card is going to a friend of mine who has had an unexpected medical emergency! So I am definitely sending prayers her way! rrcb ss 2 (640x384)

Be sure to play along with Retro Rubber! Link up HERE! The challenge closes on March 11.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to swing in tomorrow!

Sending Sunshine...

Today’s clean and simple card is truly clean and simple! 1 (532x640)

I started by stamping the sentiment on white and then stamping it on daffodil delight. I die cut the sun and then layered it over white, matching up the words. 2 (640x473)

I opted to layer the white on kraft. This card just makes me happy which is really the point of sending a card, right?

That’s it for today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow! Thank you for stopping today!
