Happy Birthday Wishes...

My best friend’s dad turned 80 this past week.  I got a chance to visit with him and he looks great!  When I told him that, he said I should get my eyes checked!  He is a great guy and always a joy to visit.  So in his honor I made him this birthday card and used the Pals Paper Arts color challenge to help me out.  The colors this week are cajun craze, crushed curry and always artichoke.  Great fall colors and great masculine colors as well. ppa 1

I struggled with how to showcase the 80 as that is the most important part of the card, after all.  I finally decided I would hide it so that you would have to slide the top tag out of the way.  This ended up being a time consuming card.  I played around with many ideas on separating the numbers, combining them, separating the tags and combining them.  But in the end I ended up with something that I liked. ppa 2

Happy 80th Birthday Tom! (even though you do not read blogs, your daughter does!)

What a fun card! Love how you hid the numbers~what a wonderful way to put an element of surprise in a card! Thanks so much for joining us this week at Pals Paper Arts!

Oh my gosh! How clever is that! I love hiding the age! Most of my friends would prefer they not even appear on the card! LOL Thanks for playing with Pals Paper Arts!
