I am loving the paper in the Stampin’ Up! Color Me Autumn DSP. It has such strong patterns which are very easy to showcase on a card. Today I am playing along with the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge. I started off by cutting a piece of DSP and layering it on very vanilla with a piece of mossy meadow.
I went looking for a sentiment that I thought would pair well with the color of the DSP and the shape that the sketch required. When I first saw the SU! mingle all the way stamp set I wasn’t too excited about it. In fact, I had no intention of buying it, ever. What I found is that this set has a way of sneaking up on you. The more I flipped through the catalog, the more I kept coming back to it. And today, I am really glad that I bought it. It has the perfect sentiment to pair with this DSP. Somehow the DSP, the sentiment and the color all seem to be in perfect harmony.
Because I liked the sentiment so well, I really wanted it to shine. So I used a piece of very vanilla and cut it wide enough to fit in the long slender word bubble. By putting the paper in so that only the word bubble edge was cut, I stamped the sentiment, cut off the excess paper and used a corner rounder to make it look like it had been cut out using a word bubble framelit. I debated about adding a bit more to the card – twine, button, rhinestones, pearls but I just couldn’t decide what. So I left well enough alone.
That’s it for today! Come back tomorrow for a new card showcasing Halloween!
