An ode to Psych...

Did you ever watch the show Psych?  I loved the whole silliness of it!  Somewhere during the seasons, they started to put pineapples somewhere in the show for viewers to catch.  I saw one!  One!  In all the seasons I only spotted one!  Why do I bring this up?  If you are a Psych fan who never saw a pineapple – this one’s for you!

I am playing along with the Sweet Sunday Sketch so I dug out my new SU! cucumber crush CS and cherry on top dsp to make this card.  (I have a fruit and veggie theme going on with this card!)  I stamped the sentiment on the cucumber and ran it through the PTI canvas impression plate.  The canvas impression goes so well with the dsp that I used.  I popped up the pineapple and added the rhinestones to finish off the card.

A fun cheery card that I will put to good use!  Perhaps I will send it to a fellow Psych fan!

Thanks for stopping by today!  This may be it for me this week.  But don't forget to come back on Monday!  And don't forget about June 2 - when I will be celebrating my first year as a blogger with a blog candy giveaway!

You're the bestest...

Today I am using some of my Reverse Confetti stamps and dies and playing along with their sketch challenge.  This is one I like to do once a month and since May is almost over (can you believe that?), I thought I had better get this card done!

Www.seejanestamp.com 3 (523x640)

I opted to make a shaker card for the sketch challenge.  I started off with the shaker and frames cuts and pool party CS.  I die cut the confetti out of several of the new SU! in colors and some old colors.  Once I had the shaker done, then it was just a matter of following the sketch to put it together.

Retro Rubber Challenge #15...

Welcome to the Retro Rubber Challenge #15!  This challenge is all about vintage.  I have seen some awesome vintage cards out there.  I, however, cannot make a vintage style card to save my soul!

So although I didn’t add lace – I did manage to get some pearls on there and I chose to use some vintage style stamps that I have had for a while.  I also used some vintage (read: retired) papers from SU!  Is all that vintage enough?  Or should I use the word vintage some more?  Sorry – this head cold makes me think I am funny!

Www.seejanestamp.com 7 (640x512)

I stamped the image on summer starfruit and then layered it up with some other retired paper.  I found the patterned paper that had patterns on it and thought it would pair well with my image.  Overall, I quite like this card and hope you do too!

I am playing along with the Paper Players sketch – otherwise I am not sure how I would have put this together!

Now, it’s your turn – let’s see how you do with this challenge!  Dig out your old stamps and make a vintage card!  You can click HERE to link up!

Thank you for your service...

Hello all!  I am posting late today!  I was lucky enough to catch a nasty head cold and that has sapped all of my energy!

I wanted to get this card posted today – it is one that I have had floating around in the back of my mind and fits well with this week’s Freshly Made Sketches.

Here it is:

Thank you to the service men and women who keep us safe and for the many sacrifices it takes to do so.

Boho borders...

I am starting off this post with a heartfelt Thank You to our men and women in the armed forces both past and present.  Most people are happy to have a three day weekend and don’t give any thought to the purpose.  So while you are celebrating an extra day off of work – please remember our servicemen and women who, with their bravery and courage, protect this great nation.

I also want to say that on June 2, I will be celebrating my first year anniversary as a blogger!  I am planning to celebrate with some blog candy so be sure to check in on the 2nd to see what it is and how to enter!

Now to today’s card!  I planned on using the colors from the MFT color challenge.  So I went looking for a sketch and found the Fab Friday challenge.   I thought the colors were fabulous so I substituted rich razzleberry for ripe raspberry, pink pirouette for tickled pink, and lucky limeade for fuse green.

Www.seejanestamp.com 3 (508x640)

I made some background paper with the new SU! Bohemian borders stamps and my inks.  I am really excited about these stamps – so many ways to use them!  I alternated the different borders with the limeade, pink, and razzleberry.  I love these colors together – so fresh and bright!  Then I stamped the pear image from an old hostess set in limeade.

To keep the color scheme going, I used cardstock in all the colors and layered everything up.  A button and some twine and the card was complete.  I will have to remember this color combo for a future card!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I am off Saturday and Sunday but plan to be back on Monday.  Have a safe and pleasant weekend everyone!

Supplies:  CS:  PTI white and kraft.  SU! rich razzleberry, pink pirouette, and lucky limeade.  Inks:  SU! rich razzleberry, pink pirouette, and lucky limeade.  Stamps:  SU! Bohemian borders and faith in nature.  Other:  Button and twine.

Umbrellas for you...

Well, here we are again, staring at the end of the week and looking forward to a long weekend!  Today’s card is a sketch from Pals Paper Arts.  I had debated about playing along with this one as I wasn’t so sure I could come up with something I liked for the sketch.

Www.seejanestamp.com 1 (640x540)

But I found my umbrella die and thought it would work perfectly!  I used fun new papers from SU!  These are papers from the upcoming catalog and are part of the cherry on top dsp.  This is a must have for you when the new catalog debuts in June.  The card base and umbrella handles are made from the new in-color tip top taupe.  Other demonstrators have been raving about the new in colors and they are right!  These are colors that you must see in person!  Lovely!

Www.seejanestamp.com 2 (640x310)

I quickly cut out three umbrellas from the dsp and tip top taupe and then adhered together.  I arranged the umbrellas, added the sentiment and some twine.  A fun cheery card that I will be sending to a friend who is needing a bit of a pick me up.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to pop in tomorrow!  I have a great project that showcases one of the new stamp sets from the upcoming SU! catalog.

Triangles galore...

When the “What’s Your Type” stamp set came out in the current SU! catalog, I will admit that I didn’t think too much of it.  And it took me a while to decide to purchase it.  Because as the year went on, I decided these geometric figures would make great background or border stamps.  (Not to mention the samples that are shown in the catalog.)

Www.seejanestamp.com 5 (640x504)

Today I finally decided to use the stamps to make a border.  This card is based off of a PTI sketch and color recipe that you can find here (you will have to scroll down a bit to see them).  I really liked the combination of colors that PTI suggested and the sketch was a perfect fit for this stamp set.  There are a lot of great sites out there that offer sketch and color suggestions that are not challenges.  And I forget to use them!

Www.seejanestamp.com 6 (640x320)

The color recipe I used was: enchanted evening, aqua mist, melon berry, kraft and linen.  I substituted these SU! colors – brocade blue, mint macaron, crisp cantaloupe for the first three colors as I had PTI kraft and cream.  I think I did pretty well!  After I stamped these triangles in the blue, mint and cantaloupe, I added the sentiment and then ran the card front thru the linen impression plate.  I added a bit of bling to finish off the look.  The kraft and linen were the perfect neutrals for these colors so I used them as the base and the layer paper.

I like the look of this card quite a bit – with a bit of tweaking this could be made more masculine or feminine for most any occasion!

Retro Rubber Challenge #14 part two...

Hello all!  Today is week two of the current Retro Rubber challenge – May Flowers!  So if you haven’t played along yet, now is the time!  Just create a card with flowers and use stamps over one year old!

Today’s card is a fun little number that I made with patterned paper and a sentiment stamp.  I used my March Simon Says Stamp card kit for the papers and the circle die strip.  Aren’t these lovely papers!  I added a sentiment and flourish from my PTI Simply Jane stamp set.

Www.seejanestamp.com 3 (572x640)

I am playing along with the Fusion Card challenge and using both the sketch and the photo.  I felt both the sketch and the photo lent itself well to these papers!

Round and round...

I am starting off the week with a bit of whimsy.  I wanted to play along with a couple of challenges – CAS(E) this Sketch and Pals Paper Arts.  The sketch was easy compared to the color (daffodil delight, melon mambo, and tempting turquoise) challenge.  I finally decided that the only way I could make the colors work was to use this ferris wheel from the Lawn Fawn Admit One set.

Www.seejanestamp.com 1 (640x527)

I started off by stamping the ticket image in versamark and clear embossed it.  I thought the “string” of tickets would make a great twist on the sketch.  Then I used the SU! blendies and markers to color the ferris wheel.  I backed the card front with a piece of daffodil delight, melon mambo and tempting turquoise.  Then it was just a matter of putting it all together and adding some bling and candy dots.

Www.seejanestamp.com 2 (640x347)

I quite like how this turned out with my two favorite parts being the colors and the string of tickets.

For the birds...

I have made my first Christmas card for 2015!  I wanted to play along with the Addicted to CAS challenge (use birds) and the only thing I could think of was a Christmas card.  I am using the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch but by the time this posts that sketch challenge will be closed and that is OK by me.  I just really liked the sketch.

Www.seejanestamp.com 9 (595x640)

Today’s card was made using die cuts and a tiny bit of stamping.  I started off with a couple of new die cuts from Memory Box - pine needles and resting birds.  I die cut the birds out of cherry cobbler and the needles out of pear pizzazz and old olive.  I adhered the needles directly to the CS and popped the birds up a bit.  They are cute!

Www.seejanestamp.com 10 (640x427)

After I added the sentiment in memento black, I ran the vanilla cream cardstock thru my linen impression plate just to finish off the look of the card.  This was a fairly quick card to create and could be mass produced for the holiday season.  And you definitely would not need to have these die cuts.  Stamped images would be fantastic as well!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I am off for the weekend but will be back next week with some fun cards!

Don’t forget the Retro Rubber challenge – link up HERE!  The challenge is May flowers!
