Flowers Two Ways...

Today you get a card and a makeover!  I wasn't overly excited after I finished my card for today so I decided a redo was in order.

I started off by stamping the flower and sentiment on white cardstock.  Then added a bit of blue ink behind the flowers.  I ran the cardstock through the mod circle frame just enough to see the circles but not enough to cut all the way through.  The card ended up with a weird bubble in it and that is what I didn’t like. 7 (538x640)

This card was made using the same idea but centered and with a different sentiment.  I glued the card front to a piece of blushing bride and then popped this up on another piece of blushing bride. 9 (506x640)

I think I like the second one better but the first has started to grow on me!  Which do you like?

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to stop in tomorrow – it is time for the new House of Cards October challenge!

Supplies:  CS:  SU! white and blushing bride.  Inks:  SU! blushing bride, pear pizzazz and marina mist.  Memento black.  Stamps:  SU! wild about flowers and cottage greetings.  Other:  Simon Says Stamp mod circle frame.  Rhinestones.

Retro Rubber Challenge #24...

Welcome to the new Retro Rubber challenge!  Summer has come to a close and the kids are back in school!  I know parents who are very excited by that!  Just in case you are missing summer - we are giving you a chance to relive your summer vacation!  Our challenge is to create a card inspired by travel!

Travel can be a lot of things – but you can’t go anywhere unless you have packed your bags!  So I broke out these fun suitcase stamps and created a pyramid of fall colors.  I also picked these colors because they remind me of the crazy colors that suitcases were in the 70's! rrcb travel 1 (513x640)

These suitcases are so much fun!  And the cosmetic case was the perfect place to put the sentiment! rrcb travel 2 (640x549)

Now it is up to you – go forth and be inspired by travel!  Hook up your super cool creations right HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies:  CS:  PTI white and kraft.  SU! pumpkin pie.  Inks:  SU! old olive, pumpkin pie, and crushed curry.  Memento black.  Stamps:  PTI pack your bags.  Other:  PTI linen impression plate.

Friends Forever...

Today I have a super quick post.  I made this card for a challenge and then changed my mind about the challenge and saved it for a later day. 1 (526x640)

I heat embossed the sentiment on a piece of watercolor paper.  Using some distress inks, I watercolored a square around the sentiment and added some sequins.  Then the wheels came off the wagon - I used my spritzer and some ink and went to town.  The card looks like it is drowning in ink splatter!  But you have to experiment sometimes! 2 (640x398)

That’s it!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Tomorrow starts a new Retro Rubber challenge so be sure to check back to see what it is!

Supplies:  CS:  SU! watercolor paper and soft suede.  Stamps:  MFT encouraging words.  Other:  Distress inks, liquid platinum embossing powder and sequins.

Flower Power for As You See It...

It is time for another As You See It Challenge!  This one is a sketch challenge and you know how I loves me a sketch challenge!!

I followed the sketch fairly closely with the exception of flipping the flowers to the right side of the sketch.  I did this because I had this gorgeous paper that would work perfectly for this challenge. aysi 105 1 (549x640)

I die cut a piece of vanilla cardstock for the sentiment using the double stitched rectangles and then added a piece of calypso coral beneath it.  I added coral underneath the patterned paper as well – just a really thin strip of it shows. aysi 105 2 (640x567)

I repeated the floral paper in the flag along with a piece of crumbcake to follow the sketch.  I love how this turned out!

Be sure to play along with us this week – this is a fun sketch and you can link up your project HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I am off for the weekend but will be back on Monday!

Supplies:  CS:  SU! very vanilla, crumbcake and calypso coral.  Pattern paper.  Stamps:  Simon Says Stamp floral bookmarking.  Dies:  MFT double stitched rectangle dies and stitched fishtail flag.  Button/twine.

Little Things...

I like to play along with the Reverse Confetti sketch challenge each month.  And try as I might, I can’t seem to get it done until sometime after mid-month!  So today’s the day! rc 1 (512x640)

I wanted to use my RC globe stand die cut since I first purchased it, but somehow that kept going by the wayside too!  I die cut two globe stands and stacked them for a bit of depth. rc 2 (640x584)

The globe became the perfect place to stamp my sentiment.  Once I had my globe done, I adhered them to the large scallop circle.  I popped all of that up on a pool party rectangle and this pretty pattern paper.  A bit of sparkle and we are good!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies:  CS:  PTI white and kraft.  SU! so saffron and pool party.  Pattern paper.  Stamps:  RC posted note sentiments.  Dies:  RC double edge scallop, circles n’ scallops, globe confetti cuts.  Rhinestones.

Today’s card is for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.  I couldn’t resist when I saw this because I immediately thought of the stamps that I would use.  I just couldn’t decide on the colors – fortunately the SugarPea Designs color challenge came to the rescue. cts 1 (499x640)

I started by stamping the largest “circle” stamp from the PTI brushed off set and then added the other circles using the Clearly Besotted sunburst stamps.  I added this larger sentiment as my answer to the sentiment/flag in the sketch. cts 2 (640x440)

A few candy dots, pearls and a trip through the linen impression plate and the card was done.  Although I used kraft as my card base, cream would have been a nice substitute.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies:  CS:  PTI white and kraft.  Inks:  SU! pink pirouette, pear pizzazz, marina mist and so saffron.  Memento black.  Stamps:  PTI brushed off and inside and out: well wishes.  Clear Besotted sunburst.  Other:  PTI linen impression plate.  SU! candy dots and pearls.

Retro Rubber Challenge #23 part two...

I love the ombre effect!  So much so that I whipped up another card for the Retro Rubber ombre challenge.  This card was super easy to do.  And uses my favorite ombre technique – a cotton ball and some ink.

I started off with a piece of white CS and grabbed the crushed curry ink.  I ran a cotton ball over the ink pad and then rubbed it on the white paper working my way across the paper to create the ombre. rrcb 23 1 (547x640)

I added a sentiment and then ran the CS thru the linen impression plate.  I popped up the card front on crumbcake and decided that nothing else was needed for the card.  The yellow, white and black carried the card without the help of any other elements. rrcb 23 2 (472x640)

Now – go ombre your heart out (try the ink/cotton ball trick) and link your project up HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to pop by tomorrow!

Supplies:  CS:  PTI white.  SU! crumbcake.  Inks:  Memento black.  SU! crushed curry.  Stamps:  Reverse Confetti shine from within.  Other:  PTI linen impression plate.

Today is a fun card made mostly with patterned paper.  I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches sketch and the Color Throwdown colors of dark blue, pink and black. fms 1 (521x640)

I quite liked the possibilities of this sketch and in the end, opted for a simple sentiment and the paper after I flipped it a bit. fms 2 (640x597)

I am using rustic cream as my neutral and black for under the paper and sentiment.  I added a few rhinestones and that was it.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies:  CS:  PTI rustic cream.  SU! basic black.  Patterned paper.  Stamps:  Reverse Confetti God is Good.  Other:  Rhinestones.

As You See It #104...

Today is my first post as a design team member for the As You See It challenge!  This is a fun challenge site that likes to mix up their weekly challenges.  This week is an assortment challenge.  What does this mean?  You have to use all the elements in the image to make a card!  Fun, right?  And challenging!

This week you must use pool party (or a color similar to it), the ombre effect, knots, circles and negative space.  I was stumped for a bit on this one.  So, I took a cotton ball and my pool party ink and rubbed ink on white cardstock to get an ombre look.  Then I used this cool new die from My Favorite things to die cut that cardstock.  I left the top open for the negative space and replaced the bottom rectangle after I stamped a sentiment. aysi 918 1 (547x640)

All I had left was the circle and knot – I pondered this for a while until I decided to add buttons – that way I could check off the circle and the knot requirements!  This was a fun challenge so I encourage you to try it! aysi 104 2 (640x620)

Be sure to check out what the design team members have created for inspiration and link up your project HERE.  You have until Wednesday to play along!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I am off for the weekend but will be back next week with some fun projects!!

Supplies:  CS:  PTI kraft and white.  Inks:  SU! pool party.  Memento black.  Stamps:  SU! pursuit of happiness.  Other:  MFT stitched vertical cover plate die.  Buttons.  Twine.

Love Life...

So here we are at Thursday!  Time is marching quickly on and we are just around the corner from Halloween!  The good/bad news is that the city is still spraying for mosquitos.  So it isn’t winter yet!

In that spirit I give you today’s card which is more summery than fall.  And I am happy to see the bright colors.  As I was crafting this weekend, I noticed I was using a lot of orange, green and yellow so there is a part of me ready to move on to fall.  But not yet! ff 1 (556x640)

I whipped out my circle punches and made some patterned and solid circles.  Then I stamped this sentiment that I just adore.  It is a good reminder that you should embrace life!  I layered everything up and then added my ribbon per this fun sketch from Fab Friday. ff 2 (640x449)

Thanks for popping in today!  Tomorrow I will have my first post for the As You See It design team so be sure to stop by!  My Friday posts will now switch to a later posting time for this challenge - 7 AM Mountain Standard Time.  Just wanted you to know!

Supplies:  CS:  PTI kraft and white.  SU! daffodil delight.  Patterned paper.  Stamps:  Reverse Confetti posted notes sentiments.  Other:  Doily.  SU! old olive ribbon, button and twine.
