Sunshine and Lollipops...

OK – so there are no lollipops but I probably having you humming that tune now!  Today I am playing along with both the CAS(E) this Sketch and Sunday Stamps challenges.  The end product that you see here is not at all what I started with!  I ended up making this card three times – one with the brushed off stamp set from Papertrey Ink, one with the SU! gorgeous grunge set and this one – made with the SU! over the rainbow set.

This ended up being my favorite – it gave me the effect I wanted without the stripes being too large and the colors overwhelming.  I would show you my other two attempts but one is on the backside of this card front and the other went in the scrap heap!

Www.seejanestamp.com cts ss 2 (640x451)

I stamped three colors of ink for the stripes – crushed curry, pumpkin pie and daffodil delight.  The sentiment was stamped in island indigo which tends to look black to me whenever I photo it.  I thought the sentiment was perfect with the colors of the stripes – as these are all colors of the sun!  I added a few candy dots and pearls to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to stop in tomorrow!!

Supplies:  CS:  SU! very vanilla.  Inks:  SU! daffodil delight, pumpkin pie, crushed curry, island indigo.  Stamps:  SU! over the rainbow.  Other:  PTI linen impression plate.  SU! candy dots and pearls.

Retro Rubber Challenge #23...

It’s time for the new Retro Rubber Challenge – hello ombre!  There is so much that you can do with ombre!  So I opted to use cardstock for my ombre card today.

I used four colors –SU! wisteria wonder, elegant eggplant, perfect plum, and concord crush.  I also pulled out a couple of impression plates and ran the cardstock thru them.  So basically I did an ombre of color and texture!

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 23 3 (539x640)

I cut the pieces of cardstock using my MFT horizontal stitched stripes and white heat embossed the happy birthday sentiment (about a year or two old) from Papertrey Ink on the bottom stripe.  If you look closely, the bottom two colors have the aida cloth impression (large and small) and the top two are the linen and canvas impressions.

Now it’s your turn to get your ombre on!  Get busy and link up your super creative projects HERE!  We would love to see your work in the gallery!

Blue Stars...

Happy Monday all!  I got a chance to spend some serious time in the craft cave this weekend!  Yay!  I managed to get quite a few cards done for future posts and have worked ahead a bit for my design team commitments.  I feel so organized!  And yet, having said that, why do I think I am forgetting something?

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 1 (512x640)

Today’s card is a fun one that I made to follow the Freshly Made Sketches sketch.  I also opted to play along with the Color Throwdown color challenge.  The colors were dark blue, light blue, orange and kraft.  A fun combo!  And if you are either a Boise State Bronco (Boise, Idaho) or a Denver Broncos fan you will really appreciate the orange/blue combination!

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 2 (640x384)

Today’s card is very CAS – I die cut a couple of sketchy stars in both blues and layered them up to make the stars a bit thicker.  Then I angled the stars together and added the sentiment banner.  This sentiment is from the My Favorite Things Pretty Poppies stamp set.  The font is spectacular and I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t get a good emboss because of the delicacy of the font.  No need to worry – the sentiment embossed perfectly!  I added one rhinestone for some bling and that was it!

A huge thank you to the crew at CAS(E) this Sketch for selecting THIS card as an honorable mention!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to pop in tomorrow!  A new Retro Rubber challenge starts tomorrow and you are going to love it!!

Supplies:  CS:  SU! crumbcake, pumpkin pie, baja breeze, and not quite navy.  Stamps:  MFT pretty poppies.  Dies:  Simon Says Stamp sketch star and sketchy banner.  Other:  white embossing powder and rhinestone.

Birthdays...

Since it is Friday, it is time for a short and sweet post!  But before I get to that I wanted to share some very exciting news!  I will be joining the As You See It Challenge design team!  This challenge site has fun and innovative challenges so be sure to join me and play along.  My first project as part of their team will be September 18th!

Now, back to our regularly scheduled program - LOL!!  This fun card is for one of my friends who has an upcoming birthday.  It is quite wishful in its thinking as we are neither 29 nor 110 pounds but I love the sentiment anyway!

Plus we are both winos.  Yay!

I am entering this card in the One Layer Simplicity challenge which requires a use of numbers in the card.  And I am entering this in the NBUS challenge as well - the sentiment stamp has never been used!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I am off Saturday and Sunday and I will be back on Monday with new projects!

Supplies:  CS:  PTI white.  Inks:  SU! so saffron and sahara sand.  Memento black.  Stamps:  PTI uncorked.  Art Impressions girlfriends.

A Little Holly...

Happy Thursday!  Today’s card is for Christmas.  It is going to be here before you know it!  So I thought I would use the sketch from the Fusion Card Challenge and the theme from Merry Monday to get a jump start on my Christmas cards.   I would like to thank the Merry Monday team for my honorable mention for THIS card on their last challenge!  Thank you!

Www.seejanestamp.com mm fc 1 (536x640)

The Merry Monday challenge had us using holly.  There were many ways to incorporate holly – pattern paper, large stamps, small stamps etc.  I opted to go small and use just a bit of holly on my super small envelope.

Www.seejanestamp.com mm fc 2 (640x522)

I followed the sketch fairly closely and used up some of my patterned holiday papers. I didn’t even add any bling – can you believe it?  I can’t!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies:  CS:  SU! crumbcake, trim the tree dsp, season of style dsp, cherry cobbler and old olive.  PTI rustic white.  Stamps:  RC North Pole wishes and dies.  PTI keep it simple Christmas.

Steppin' Out...

I bought these cute Papertrey Ink Fancy Footwork stamps when they first came out quite a while ago and they have been cooling their heels (pun intended) on the shelf all of this time!  But I wanted to play along with this week’s CAS(E) this Sketch and thought I could use these stamps in some way to make this sketch work.

Www.seejanestamp.com cts 1 (518x640)

So I stamped the footsteps in calypso coral and mint macaron and then added the sentiment.  It probably doesn’t work so well for the sketch unless you flip the sketch sideways but I liked how well the colors and steps came out.

I ran the card front thru the linen impression plate just to add the finishing touch!

Retro Rubber Challenge #22 part two...

Today’s card is out of my wheelhouse!  I do not normally add lots of tags and ribbons and such but when I saw the sketch for the As You See It challenge, I had an immediate thought of what to make!  One of the benefits of purchasing the Papertrey Ink Stamp-a-faire kit this year was these cool tinier tiny tags dies.  I thought they would be perfect for the Retro Rubber Challenge as well.

This card was a very simple card to put together.  I ran a piece of lace down the card front and secured it on the other side.  Then using the tinier tiny tags die, I cut several out of pear pizzazz, so saffron, and wisteria wonder.  I used some pear pizzazz seam binding ribbon and made several knots and stuck them all together.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb aysi 1 (567x640)

I ran some of the tags thru the pin and then added the pin to the ribbon.  It’s a lot of texture for me!  But I like it!

Neon Trees...

Oh my, it feels like I have been gone ages instead of just a few days!  My blog break was intended to give you all a break from the numerous postings the previous weekend and me a chance to catch up!  So I am back with postings for the week!

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 1 (640x519)

Today I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I flipped the challenge on its side and used some neon inks to make some bright colored trees.

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 2 (640x412)

It took me a while to figure out what I was going to stamp and I tried a variety of colors before I finally decided on the neon colors.  I stamped the outlines in memento black and added neon orange, green and blue.  The sentiment was white heat embossed and then flagged at the end.  I topped it off with a button and some twine.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies:  CS: PTI rustic white.  SU! basic black.  Stamps:  Simon Says Stamp one with nature.  Inks:  Hero Arts neon orange, neon green, neon blue.  Memento black.  Other:  White embossing powder, button, twine.

House of Cards Stitching Challenge...

Welcome to September and this month’s House of Cards Challenge!  This is a fun one!  In fact, you will be in stitches over this one!  (OK – I really couldn’t help myself!)

Here is the scoop – just make a card with stitches – either real or faux!  Easy peasy, right?

I opted to use faux stitching because even though I have a sewing machine, I have yet to take it out of the closet, get it to the craft cave and set it up!

Www.seejanestamp.com HOC Sept 1 (522x640)

I used faux stitching on all of my elements!  I used my stitched wonky dies to showcase the sentiment and the blueprints 20 dies to cut my piece of cajun craze and the so saffron banner.  Once I had everything cut, I just layered everything up and added a doily for some extra interest!

Retro Rubber Challenge #22...

Welcome to the Retro Rubber Challenge #22!  You can totally enter this one without much trouble because it is Anything Goes!!  The only requirement is to use stamps older than a year.  Please be sure to state how old your stamps are in your post!

So one would think that anything goes would be easy.  For everyone else maybe but not for me!  I really struggled with this and had a couple of trial cards before settling on this!

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 1 (525x640)

This stamp comes from the SU! Pursuit of Happiness.  This stamp set retired a number of years ago and this is the first time I am using it!  I hate to admit it, but I have quite a few stamps that I have never used!

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 2 (640x332)

I stamped the sentiment first.  Then with some lime chalk and the screened leaves stencil, I stenciled around the sentiment.  I added some pearls and rhinestones and then layered the card front on some SU! lucky limeade and kraft.  The sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch provided the inspiration for this card.

Now, it’s your turn!  Just make a card using stamps over one year old and link your creation up HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I am only posting today so I will be back on Monday!

Supplies:  CS:  SU! lucky limeade.  PTI white and kraft.  Stamps:  SU! pursuit of happiness.  Other:  Simon Says Stamp screened leaves stencil.  Chalk.  PTI linen impression plate.  Pearls.  Rhinestones.
