Boo To You...

Happy Friday all! Welcome to a brand new As You See It Challenge! This week is a sketch challenge and because it is October 30, it had to be a Halloween card of course!

#110 10.30.15

I started off with tangerine tango and basic black that I ran through my spider embossing folder. I cut a piece of tangerine tango to make the flag and then die cut an apothecary accent to put under the circles.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 110 1 (640x528)

I was a bit stumped on what to use for my image when I landed on the idea of making a ghost! So I added some spooky eyes and the sentiment for the mouth!

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 110 2 (640x521)

I layered my ghost up on a piece of crushed curry and then put everything together! Now it is your turn – be sure to play along with us HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! I will be posting on November 1st for House of Cards and then follow my usual Monday thru Friday posting. Have a safe and fun Halloween tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: SU! basic black, tangerine tango, crushed curry, motley monsters dsp. PTI white. Stamps: PTI happy haunting. Dies: SU! apothecary accents. SU! spider embossing folder.

Ghostly Greetings...

Today’s card has been a long time coming! I bought this stamp years ago and could never find a way to use it. But when I saw the sketch for Sunday Stamps, I thought it was time to see if I could!

I stamped this image in memento black and then used colored pencils to color the ghosts, fence and grass. I added a bit of black chalk to darken the sky.

Www.seejanestamp.com ss 1 (640x528)

I added a few bits of bling and layered up on cardstock and patterned paper and arranged according to the sketch.

Halloween Stripes...

Today I am playing along with the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. I love this sketch! Simple and so many possibilities!

For me, it was quick and easy. I grabbed my SU! over the rainbow stamps and some SU! inks and set to work. I stamped one line each in tangerine tango, pumpkin pie and crushed curry. I added the sentiment in between and ran the card front through the PTI linen impression plate.

Retro Rubber Challenge #26...

It’s time for a new challenge at Retro Rubber! This time it is a sketch and if you love sketches like me, then you will want to join us!

RRCB 26

I kept this one in the Halloween theme with these fun pumpkins. I have had this stamp for six or seven years and used my distress markers to color and a bit of soft sky ink for the sky.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 26 1 (640x533)

I added this bit of patterned paper behind the image, although as I write this, I am not sure what possessed me to use this color when NOTHING else on my card has this color – but I did it anyway! And it works I think!

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 26 2 (640x539)

It was just a matter of adding a few buttons and I was done! Be sure to join us – pull out some older stamps (over a year old) and get to creating! Link up your card HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: SU! crumbcake, motley monsters dsp and white. Other: Stamp and buttons from stash. SU! linen thread. Distress markers.

Candy Corn Trees...

Happy Monday! Today I am playing along with a challenge that is new to me - CAS Colours and Sketches. I just loved the sketch and thought I could come up with something Halloween related for it.

And I did. I made a candy corn tree! Seriously – who doesn’t love candy corn! The waxy texture, the lack of nutritional value, the opportunity to get a candy corn that is one color instead of three!

Www.seejanestamp.com cas 1 (640x545)

Anyway, I saw the trees on this sketch and thought I would create candy corn trees (well, one anyway). I started by using my PTI topiary trio dies and cutting the trees out of various Halloween colors and then layered up the colors on early espresso to make my trees. I love how the die cut allows you to pop up the “leaves” and give some added texture.

I added a sentiment and layered the card front on a piece of early espresso and crumbcake.  That's it!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Jump...

TGIF everyone! Today starts a new challenge for the As You See It Challenge. This one is all about color – specifically three – lost lagoon, basic black, and pumpkin pie!

  #109 10.23.15

My card is an homage to the fall tradition of raking leaves! One of the best things about being a kid (or an adult who feels like a kid) is jumping in a big pile of freshly raked leaves! So I set about making my own pile of leaves.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 109 1 (547x640)

I used a variety of inks and the SU! Sheltering Tree stamp set to make this image and then added a bit of lost lagoon for the sky and a smidge of always artichoke for the ground.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 109 2 (640x444)

I opted for a simple command for my sentiment – JUMP! I went through several ideas for a sentiment and finally stuck with the one that brung me – I liked the word jump all on its own.

So be sure to play along with us this week! Link up your creation HERE!

I am entering this card in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge as it is what inspired me to come up with this card!

FMS Final 209-001[1]

Thanks for stopping by today! I am off for the weekend but plan to be back on Monday with a final push of cards for Halloween!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. SU! basic black and lost lagoon. Inks: Memento black. SU! chocolate chip, always artichoke, soft suede, cajun craze, cherry cobbler, hello hone, pumpkin pie, and lost lagoon. Stamps: SU! sheltering tree. Other: Alphabet rotary stamp. PTI linen impression plate.

Retro Rubber Challenge #25 part two...

Hello all! Happy Tuesday! Sorry about being MIA yesterday but I was out of town last week and didn’t get anything made for Monday, or Wednesday, or Thursday! Because of that I will only be posting today and Friday.

RRCB 25

Today’s card is one for the Retro Rubber Challenge – get your spook on! I opted for another CAS card with just a simple image and sentiment. I stamped my image from the SU! googly ghouls stamp set and then added a bit of green. The green was supposed to give an evil glow for this mummy. But he really doesn’t look too evil to me!

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 10 (534x640)

I added a sentiment and ran the card front thru my rustic burlap impression plate. I added a bit of sparkle and layered everything up.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 12 (640x540)

Be sure to get your spook on and link up your Halloween card HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! I will be back on Friday for sure! With some luck, I may get to steal a couple of minutes in the craft cave!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. SU! pumpkin pie and basic black. Stamps: SU! googly ghouls. PTI keep it simple Halloween. Inks: Memento black. Amuse lime green. Other: PTI rustic burlap impression plate. Rhinestones.

Lola's Challenge...

Today starts a new challenge for the As You See It challenge.  Today’s challenge is very special!  So please consider taking part!

One of our lovely design team members – Tara – has an equally lovely niece who has been battling cancer.  Lola has her good days and her bad days so we are going to send Lola digital cards, hugs and prayers.

Now Lola is just like every other sweet nine year old little girl – she loves pink, unicorns and fairies.  So we are asking you to make a card that incorporates any or all of these elements.  Other elements that can be included is the color gold and words of encouragement.

I am sure we all know someone who has battled or is battling cancer.  The only thing more insidious than cancer is the fact that cancer spares no one – the individual or the family.  So please help us make Lola’s day!  If you can’t make a card, please leave an encouraging comment on the challenge site for Lola to read.

For sweet Lola:

Feeling corny...

Today’s card is a fall card made with a Christmas stamp!  Yep!

This look was achieved by using one of the vein stamps from the new SU! Reason for the Season stamp set.  I think this stamp set is quite stunning on its own but when I saw the vein stamps in it – I immediately thought wreath!

Www.seejanestamp.com 1 (554x640)

I used several different inks and first and second generation stamping to make this image.  I tried bending the stamp a bit to make an round shaped wreath but it didn’t turn out quite like I wanted it.  So I ended up with this type instead.

I only used one vein stamp and started by stamping memento rich cocoa full strength and then a second and third time.  The other colors are crushed curry, cajun craze and pear pizzazz all made with second generation stamping until my image looked “full” enough.

Www.seejanestamp.com 2 (640x446)

I added a bit of copper metallic thread, a couple of the into the woods elements, and the sentiment.  You should recognize that sentiment as I used it yesterday.  I just did a bit of surgery and cut the stamp apart.  My cardfront is rustic cream that I layered on a piece of cajun craze and crumbcake.

That was all there was to it!  I like to find alternate uses for my stamps when I can.  I look forward to using this vein stamp for it’s real purpose – in a poinsetta leaf!

Thanks for stopping in today!  Tomorrow begins a new As You See It challenge – so be sure to stop by!

Supplies:  CS:  SU! cajun craze and crumbcake.  PTI rustic cream.  Inks:  Memento rich cocoa.  SU! crushed curry, cajun craze, and pear pizzazz.  Stamps:  SU! acorny thank you and reason for the season.  Other:  SU! into the woods elements.  Copper metallic thread.

October Pals Blog Hop...

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for October where we are celebrating an early Fall season by sharing Halloween and Autumn projects using our wonderful Stampin’ Up! supplies.  We hope you enjoy our creations!

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Ronna Butt at www.cardstockcastle.com, number 13 on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

Hello all!  I am glad you could join us today!  Today’s card is very CAS and celebrates acorns!  I am not sure when it happened but I have developed a sudden affinity for acorns!  I could hardly wait to get my hands on the acorn punch!

Www.seejanestamp.com blog hop 1 (562x640)

I ran a piece of so saffron, crumbcake, and thicker white thru the woodgrain embossing folder.  Then I punched out the acorns from the saffron and crumbcake and glued together.  If you haven’t tried the new fine line glue – you should – I am in love with this stuff!

Www.seejanestamp.com blog hop 2 (640x488)

I added linen thread and a couple of pearls to the acorns.  I glued one acorn to the white cardstock and popped the other up a bit for some dimension.  I stamped the sentiment (before I ran thru the embossing folder), added a candy dot and was done.

Thanks for stopping and enjoy the rest of your hop!

The next stop is Susan Itell at Simple Stampin, number 15 on the Pals Blog Hop!  Thanks for visiting; I hope to see you on next month’s Pals Hop!
