Retro Rubber Challenge #25...

Welcome to the new Retro Rubber Challenge!  This challenge is all about Halloween!  So get your spook on and see if you can scare the tricks or treats out of us!

I will admit that my card is a big fail when it comes to the scariness quotient!  But I would give it a cute rating for sure!  As much as I hate spiders, I think this stamp is adorable! rrcb 1 (550x640)

I stamped three spiders in black and then added my sentiment multiple times.  Which makes this card a perfect entrant into the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. rrcb 2 (640x455)

Dotty Butterflies...

Happy Monday!  Today I made a charming little card to play along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

It was a fun sketch that could have gone the wrong way quickly!  I sorted thru a number of ideas until I started looking through my paper stash.  I found this matching paper and set to work. fms 1 (516x640)

I was surprised at how quickly this card came together once I settled on using butterflies.  I opted to use the sentiment from the SU! butterfly basics stamp set and then added a bitty butterfly with pearls to finish off the card. fms 2 (640x514)

Thanks for stopping by today!  And be sure to pop in tomorrow!!

Supplies:  CS:  SU! lost lagoon and crumbcake.  DSP from stash.  Stamps:  SU! butterfly basics.  Other:  SU! lost lagoon ink.  SU! bitty butterfly punch.  Pearls.  PTI linen impression plate.

A Gold Leaf...

Today starts a new challenge for the As You See It challenge.  The third time is the charm and we have another lovely sketch challenge for you!

I kept this card pretty CAS with die cuts and a simple sentiment.  I ran a piece of hello honey through the woodgrain embossing folder and then die cut with the PTI leaf silhouette. aysi 107 1 (512x640)

I used a piece of rustic cream cardstock and ran it though my double stitched circle die.  I stamped the sentiment on both the rustic cream and hello honey and then stacked them together. aysi 107 2 (640x536)

A few pearls and all was done!  Link up your card HERE! So be sure to play along!!

Supplies:  CS:  PTI rustic cream and kraft.  SU! hello honey.  Stamps:  WPLUS9 strictly sentiments 2.  Dies:  MFT double stitched circles.  PTI leaf silhouette.  Other:  SU! woodgrain embossing folder.  Pearls.

A Fall Hourglass...

My fall trend continues today!  Using Cajun craze and so saffron, I colored a piece of white cardstock using my tried and true method of a cotton ball and ink pad. 5 (489x640)

Once I inked up the paper, I ran it through an hourglass die.  I punched out the triangles and then played a bit to decide which ones to keep and which ones to leave out.  I ended up with this pattern and quite liked it! 6 (640x563)

I added a white heat embossed sentiment from the SU! sheltering tree stamp set and popped it up on the card front (after I washi label punched the ends!).  No embellies for this card - it just wasn't necessary.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to pop in tomorrow!!

Supplies:  CS: SU! white, Cajun craze and basic black.  Inks:  SU! Cajun craze and crushed curry.  Stamps:  SU! sheltering tree.  Dies:  Simon Says Stamp hourglsss.  Other:  White embossing powder.  SU! washi label punch.

Count Your Blessings...

I am feeling a bit fallish today!  We are into October, the days are getting shorter and cooler.  This only means that Christmas is around the corner!  Yipes! 3 (485x640)

I got started by heat embossing the wood image from the SU! truly grateful stamp set in gold.  I stamped the wood slice in crumbcake after stamping it off once.  I added the sentiment figuring it somehow fit.  Count your blessings – just like you counted the wood rings when you were a kid! 4 (606x640)

I backed the sentiment with a piece of Cajun craze and some gold metallic thread.  The card front was adhered to a larger piece of Cajun craze and then popped it up on some crumbcake.  Finally, some sequins finished off the card.

That’s it for today!  Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies:  CS:  SU! crumbcake, Cajun craze and white.  Stamps:  SU! truly grateful and gratitude for days.  Inks:  SU! crumbcake and Cajun craze.  Other:  Gold embossing powder, gold thread and sequins.

Retro Rubber Challenge #24 part two...

Today I did another card for the Retro Rubber challenge.  Last week, I packed my bags.

For the sea cruise I am taking on this magnificent ship.  It kind of reminds me of the ship from the movie – Master and Commander. rrcb travel 3 (509x640)

I stamped the image in black and added the sentiment.  A bit of marina mist ink gives both the blue sky and the sea. rrcb travel 4 (640x528)

Have you played along yet?  No?  Here is your chance!  Just link up your creation HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies:  CS: PTI white and kraft.  SU! marina mist.  Inks:  SU! marina mist.  Memento black.  Stamps:  SU! the open sea.  PTI pack your bags.  Other:  PTI linen impression plate.  Rhinestones.

Bluebirds of Happiness...

There is an old country song that goes “may the bird of paradise fly up your nose, may an elephant caress you with his toes” and for some reason, when I was making this card that is the song I was singing!  It goes on to wish a few other things and I can't help but chuckle every time I hear it! 1 (529x640)

Now, these bluebirds should only bring you happiness!  So I will not wish that the bird of paradise flies up your nose!  Instead, I will wish that you enjoy this card! 2 (640x479)

This was a quick and easy card.  I started by die cutting this branch out of linen vellum.  I added a few bluebirds and the sentiment and was done.  See?  It really was easy!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to stop in tomorrow!!

Supplies:  CS:  SU! crumbcake and marina mist.  PTI linen vellum.  Dies:  Memory box resting birds.  PTI branching out.  Stamps:  WPLUS9 strictly sentiments 2.

Pears To You..

Welcome to a new As You See It Challenge!  This week we have another sketch challenge!  YAY!

I decided to go a bit off the grid by using a shape other than the rectangle.  I have had this pear die for a while and just never had a reason to use it.  So I sponged some ink on a piece of cardstock and die cut the pear.  A bit of twine around the stem finished off the pear. aysi 106 1 (545x640)

Using some wild wasabi embossing ink, I heat embossed “pear-fect” and added the rest of the sentiment in black.  I added a bit of pattern paper and solid CS for the strip behind the pear. A bit of bling and the card was done. aysi 106 2 (640x607)

Now it is up to you – play along with the fun sketch and link up your card HERE!

House of Cards Color or Texture Challenge...

Today starts the new monthly challenge for the House of Cards!  This challenge is about using these beautiful fall colors or adding some texture to your card or both!  I opted to use both!

I started by using a piece of SU! early espresso core’dinations cardstock that I ran through the woodgrain embossing folder.  The beauty of the core’dinations cardstock is that it is sandable.  So I sanded the ridges of the woodgrain a bit. oct HOC 1 (531x640)

I die cut six tags out of varying cardstock that was inspired by the colors in the challenge image.  I ran each of these tags thru a sweater impression plate to add a bit of texture there as well.  I stacked them together with just a bit of each color sticking out. oct HOC 2 (633x640)

I stamped the pumpkins and sentiment on the top tag and added some chunky orange jute to the tag. That's it!

Be sure to play along with this challenge!  You can link up HERE!
