Retro Rubber Challenge #27 part two...

Today’s card is for the Retro Rubber color challenge. I thought I could put something together that would suit those colors and a sketch challenge if I could find one. And I did – I am entering this card in the CAS Colours and Sketches Challenge.

RRCB 27

I started off by rubbing blackberry bliss, hello honey and old olive inks on some white cardstock and then die cutting two leaves. I used the corresponding die cut and some gold foil paper to add a bit of shine to the leaves.

The sketch challenge required the use of numbers as the challenge is celebrating 150 challenges. Isn’t that great? I can hardly wait until Retro Rubber hits 150 challenges – actually that is kind of hard to imagine when we are at challenge 27.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 2 (640x488)

To comply with the sketch, I used a stamp from the gorgeous grunge stamp set on the baked brown sugar cardstock to make a “banner” and then added the sentiment and numbers. A few pearls and the card was finished.

It’s not too late to play along with the Retro Rubber color challenge. You can link up HERE!

Snowflakes...

Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week? And yet I can’t get into making any more fall cards (well, I have one for tomorrow) so Christmas cards it is! I have so many lovely Christmas stamps that need a work out so I will see what I can get done this year!

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 1 (640x530)

Today’s card is all about snow. I am not quite ready to see a bunch of the white stuff but once Thanksgiving is over I am generally ready to see some snow.

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 2 (640x461)

I am playing along with two challenges – Freshly Made Sketches (sketch) and The Friday Mashup (colors). I stamped some snowflakes in mint macaron, pool party and smokey slate in a large square/small square type of pattern. My card really stretches the FMS sketch but I am going to enter it anyway.  I added the sentiment by white heat embossing it on black and then a bit of bling.

Thanks for stopping by today – be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: SU! smokey slate, basic black. PTI white. Inks: SU! pool party, mint macaron and smokey slate. Stamps: SU! happy scenes. PTI peace be still. Other: White embossing powder. Rhinestones.

Burnt Flamingos...

Hello all! Today’s card was made for two challenges – The Card Concept (inspiration) and RetroSketches (sketch).

I adhered some pattern paper at an angle onto the card base and then stamped the flamingo legs directly onto the pattern paper. After which I popped the flamingos up a bit on the pattern paper. I know that flamingos are traditionally pink but I think these may be on the burnt side of pink since I cut them from some cajun craze paper.

A little bling surrounds the flamingos and the sentiment was placed in the corner to help balance the card.

November Pals Blog Hop...

2015badge-2

Welcome to the Pals November Blog Hop, we’re so thankful you stopped by.  This month we’re showcasing projects that feature Stampin’ Up! Thanksgiving and “Thank You” products.  We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or you may have come from the previous blog on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you can enjoy each and every beautiful project.

Welcome! Today I made this fun clean and simple card for you! I started by using one of the Bohemian Borders to create the pattern on the very vanilla cardstock. I opted to use a bit of an ombre effect in my colors by using four dark inks and then four light inks. After stamping, I decided this card could use a bit of texture and instead of using an embossing folder, I pulled out my trusty simply scored scoring board and made a tiny grid pattern.

Www.seejanestamp.com nov blog hop 1 (528x640)

I spotlighted the sentiment made with the washi tape punch by adding a bit of Bermuda bay cardstock on the edges. A bit of silver cording and a mixture of rhinestones, candy dots, and enamel dots add a bit of bling to the card. Although I started off by using traditional Thanksgiving colors, the Bermuda bay brings a bit of an unexpected element to the card and gives it just the zing it needs!

Retro Rubber Challenge #27...

Welcome to a new challenge at Retro Rubber! This time we have a color challenge for you – colors perfect for the fall season. Just use blackberry bliss, hello honey, old olive, and baked brown sugar or colors similar in your project.

RRCB 27

I started off by stamping a distressed tag in old olive on white cardstock. I colored my image with blackberry bliss on the pot, old olive for the grass, and hello honey and more mustard on the sheaths of grain.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 27 1 (533x640)

I added a bit of shading to the right of the tag and added the sentiment. A few bits of twine and a button and I was done!

Groovy Baby...

Happy Monday! Today I am getting my groove on with a visit to the 60’s! I am playing along with two challenges – Freshly Made Sketches – for the sketch and The Friday Mashup for the theme – decades.

I could not pass up the decades challenge. In fact I was so excited about it that I used my dies and stamps from the 60’s with colors from the 50’s! Which was a bit of a mistake – I thought my stamps and dies were from the 50’s – thus those colors were googled!

Www.seejanestamp.com fms fm 1 (539x640)

I started by doing some color blocking (per the Friday Mashup challenge) of pink, blue, mint and yellow. I glued pieces down on a piece of white and then die cut the shape.

Www.seejanestamp.com fms fm 2 (640x421)

I die cut these cool 60’s shapes from black and pink. Then I layered everything according to the sketch challenge.  I quite liked how my mix of decades turned out!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow – the new Retro Rubber Challenge starts!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. SU! so saffron, soft sky, pink pirouette, mint macaron, and basic black. Stamps/Dies: PTI Stamp-a-faire 1960’s. Other: Rhinestones.

A Simple Life...

Welcome to the new As You See It challenge! This week we have another sketch! Yay! I am always happy to see a sketch!

#111 Nov 6 15

I started off with a base of delightful Dijon. I added some lost lagoon, tip top taupe and pattern paper as per the sketch.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 111 1 (568x640)

I decided to use some twine and metallic thread instead of two flags and some pearls for the star. I stamped the sentiment and used a ticket corner punch before popping it up on the base.

Celebrate Everyday...

Today I am playing along with the Fab Friday sketch challenge and the Sunday Stamps color challenge. I really like this sketch and had several different ideas on how to approach it.

In the end, I opted for clean and simple. I started by embossing this twig wreath in white. I added some silver cording trim over which I added a piece of island indigo chevron ribbon.

Www.seejanestamp.com ff 1 (551x640)

I stamped the sentiment on fresh linen snow cardstock and then die cut this piece and a piece of island indigo with the double stitched circles. These were added to the card per the sketch.

Www.seejanestamp.com ff 2 (640x455)

I added a bit of bling and the card was finished.
