Happy New Year! Can you believe it is 2016? And that it is time for a new House of Cards challenge? This month’s challenge is to use the colors in the challenge image, use embossing, or do both!

I received some fun embossing folders for Christmas, courtesy of my niece! And the tree trunks embossing folder was calling my name for this card. I dug around in my stash and discovered this cute Lawn Fawn stamp and die set that I received as a freebie awhile back.

So I stamped the lil guy and colored him up with some pencils and gamsol. This was my first time using the gamsol (odorless mineral spirits) and a blending stump and it was super easy to use. I usually use a blending pencil and blend until my hand wants to fall off. This was way easier – no effort at all!

After coloring, I die cut Pepe and popped him up on the embossing and added the sentiment. I couldn’t resist adding a few hearts at the last minute. He reminds me of Pepe Le Pew and his undying love for his lady friend Penelope. I loved those cartoons as a kid!
