A Bit Of Good...

Welcome to a new As You See It Challenge! Today we have a fun sketch challenge for you!

  #119 Jan 15 16

I decided to flip the sketch on its side. I stamped a thatchy background in crushed curry on my white cardstock and then added the sentiment. aysi 119 1 (553x640)

I added a couple of pieces of pattern paper to my lost lagoon card front and then ran both this piece and the white CS thru the linen impression plate and my stitched rectangle dies. I added some pearls and candy dots and layered everything up. aysi 119 2 (640x399)

Now it’s your turn so link up your cards HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! I am off for the weekend but will be back on Monday! Be sure to have a great weekend!

Supplies: CS: PTI white and kraft. SU! lost lagoon. Pattern paper from stash. Stamps: SU! pursuit of happiness and you’ve got this. Dies: MFT blueprint 13. Lil inkers stitched rectangles. PTI linen impression plate. Other: SU! crushed curry ink, candy dots, and pearls.

Its Pasture Birthday...

So my youngest nephew celebrated his birthday in October – he officially became a teenager –yikes! And I was so busy at the time that I never made him a birthday card.  And he has not forgotten that – in fact my status as favorite aunt is on the line! He reminded me not that long ago that he still hadn’t gotten his birthday card (or present). But I did give him a pretty awesome Christmas present so I know I have been partially forgiven! 1 (501x640)

That was a long story for today’s card! I stamped the herd from the SU! From the Herd set and colored with colored pencils and chalk. In real life the colors are quite vivid but they don’t show that well in the pictures unfortunately. 2 (640x361)

Now, I just need to get his present. Let’s face it – he will be lucky to get his gift by the time he is fourteen! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. SU! crumbcake. Stamps: SU! from the herd. Other: MFT blueprints 13. Colored pencils/gamsol.

Lots Of Trees...

Today’s fun card was made for the Reverse Confetti sketch challenge. I haven’t had the opportunity to play along with that challenge in several months.

So I whipped up this card in short order. I started by cutting a couple of chevron stripes in SU! wisteria wonder and elegant eggplant. Then using the branch out die, I cut a couple of trees in lost lagoon and sahara sand. rc 1 (573x640)

I decided on this sentiment because I love it when it snows, unless I have to travel in it! The word was cut from lost lagoon and added to the die cut scalloped circle. I adhered everything straight to the base and popped up the white circle/sentiment. rc 2 (640x465)

That’s it for today! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: SU! sahara sand, lost lagoon, elegant eggplant, wisteria wonder, white. SSS January card kit. Stamps/Dies: RC branch out, triple chevron, circles n scallops and winter words.

Flowery Thanks...

Happy Tuesday! I wanted to play along with the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge today and looked around for a stamp set that I could deem worthy of the challenge. I purchased this Wplus9 Many Thanks stamp set during the Simon Says Stamp Stamptember sale and haven’t had an opportunity to use it.

I used some of my new Altenew inks to stamp up this card. And I have to say these inks stamp beautifully – the vast majority of my inks are Stampin’ Up! but I have been slowly trying some other brands to see what I think. And I think I like these inks. cts ss 1 (548x640)

I added the flowers randomly in different pinks and greens for the leaves. I heat embossed the sentiment after I tucked it in the flowers. I ran the card front thru the linen impression plate and then added some pearls. cts ss 2 (640x421)

I am entering this card in the Sunday Stamps challenge as well. I typically don’t enter the same challenge twice but I really liked the colors they picked for this challenge and I couldn’t resist!

Thanks for stopping by today!   Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI white and kraft. Inks: Altenew ruby red, coral berry, frosty pink, forest glades and frayed leaf. Stamps: SSS/Wplus9 many thanks. Other: PTI linen impression plate. Black embossing powder. Pearls.

Kindness Of Heart...

Hello all! Today’s card was made for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I mulled over a number of ideas and finally gave this one a try. I just couldn’t seem to come up with a plan. Until I found my embossing paste!

I haven’t used my embossing paste in quite a while. So I die cut a stencil out of my hearts cover plate and applied some translucent paste over the hearts randomly. fms ss 1 (504x640)

Then I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in SU! blushing bride embossing powder. I cropped the ends and cut around the top of the word to change things up a bit. I layered everything up and was done! fms ss 2 (640x412)

I am also entering this card in the Sunday Stamps color challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: SU! pink pirouette. PTI kraft and white. Stamps: SU! heard from the heart. Other: PTI heart cover plate die. Translucent embossing paste. SU! blushing bride embossing powder. Pearls.

Winter Blessings...

Welcome to a new challenge at As You See It! We have an assortment challenge for you today! Use each of the listed elements on your card and you are good to go!  I admit, I find these challenges, well, challenging. But I think they are the ones I enjoy the most because they give my noggin’ a work out! I spent quite a bit of time thinking about todays - that’s for sure!

#118 Jan 8 16

I started by running some white cardstock thru my trusty linen impression plate. Then I added some snowflake paper and silver glitter tape and ran it thru the die cutter with this double stitched rectangle die. I then white embossed the sentiment. Using a cotton ball and some ink, I rubbed the ink over the embossed sentiment. aysi 118 1 (571x640)

I added the rhinestones and then popped up the card front on another piece of white with some silver cording and thread underneath. I love the colors of this card – very cold and icy feeling. Perfect for the winter weather! aysi 118 2 (640x436)

Now it’s your turn! Be sure to play along and link up your card HERE!

I am entering this card in the Curtain Call challenge as well!

Thanks for stopping by today! I am off for the weekend but will be back on Monday!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. SSS January card kit. Dies: MFT double stitched rectangle. Stamps: PTI winter hills. Other: White embossing powder, silver thread. SU! silver cording, ballet blue ink and rhinestones.

With Sympathies...

Today’s card is very clean and simple. I needed to make a sympathy card. A friend of mine recently lost her husband and I wanted something that was understated but elegant. 1 (560x640)

I started with a base of vanilla that I ran thru the linen impression plate. I die cut a piece of pattern paper with my horizontal stitched dies. 2 (640x448)

The sentiment was gold embossed on vanilla and ran thru both the linen plate and the double stitched oval die. I layered everything and added a bit of gold cording underneath.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI vanilla. Paper from stash. Stamps: SU! simply sketched. Dies: MFT horizontal stitched and double stitched ovals. PTI linen impression plate. Other: SU! gold cording. Gold embossing powder.

Let The Good Times Roll...

Happy Wednesday! As I mentioned yesterday, today’s card is also for a SugarPea Designs sketch challenge. I had a little fun with this card and chose to use the SugarPea stamp set – Spare Me. I like this little bowler!

I used colored pencils/gamsol and drew the colors from the argyle paper. After I colored him in, I added the sentiment and some chalk around him. A bit of watermelon wonder peeks out from under the white paper. spd 5 (536x640)

To follow the sketch, I used one of my MFT stitched snowdrifts dies to add a bit of curve to the chocolate chip paper that is underneath the argyle. I added a bit of jute, layered everything up and was done. This is a lot more layering than I typically do, but I am pretty happy with this card! spd 6 (640x438)

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop by tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. Lawn Fawn sweater weather. SU! chocolate chip, mint macaron, and watermelon wonder. Dies: MFT blueprints 24 and stitched snowdrifts. PTI linen impression plate. Stamps: SPD spare me. Other: colored pencils, chalk and jute twine.

Tip Top Thanks...

Today’s card plays along with a challenge from SugarPea Designs. I haven’t played along with their challenge for quite a while so I took advantage of their sketch challenge today and for tomorrow’s card.

I started by stamping some brushstrokes on white, using SU! watermelon wonder, tip top taupe and hello honey. Then I made a tag out of very vanilla and two punches – the ornate tag topper and the banner. spd 3 (548x640)

I added some washi to the tag and added the sentiment. You can never have too many thank you cards! After I put the card together, I wished I used white for the tag as well. But it was too late to change it so I just went with it! spd 4 (640x402)

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. SU! very vanilla and tip top taupe. Inks: SU! hello honey, watermelon wonder, tip top taupe. Memento black. Punches: SU! ornate tag topper and triple banner. Stamps: PTI brushed off. RC posted note sentiments. Other: Twine, SU! washi. PTI linen impression plate.

All Is Calm...

Hello! I had a nice long break and managed to get quite a few things accomplished – the only thing that didn’t get done was reorganizing my craft room – but that will wait for another day!

Today’s card is a leftover Christmas card that I made up for the Freshly Made Sketches and never got around to posting.

I started by using a piece of pattern paper and backed it with some SU! poppy parade. I stamped the sentiment from the SU! woodland stamp set on vanilla and then added a bit of a wave to the banner. fms 1 (568x640)

I layered everything on a base of vanilla. A pretty simple card but it has a quiet beauty I think! fms 2 (640x429)

I would like to say Thank You to The Paper Players for picking THIS card as A Cut Above in their last color challenge. And a Thank You to the Color Throwdown for picking THIS card.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI vanilla. SU! poppy parade. Patterned paper from stash. Stamps: SU! wonderland. Other: PTI linen impression plate. Pearls.
