February 2016

Happy Monday! Today’s card was made using the Freshly Made Sketches sketch and the Pals Paper Arts color challenge. I haven’t played along with PPA in a long time but the color challenge was created by my friend Katy McGloin so I had to play along!!

I started by using my Rubbernecker corn flowers stamp and with SU! markers in lost lagoon, tempting turquoise, crisp cantaloupe, calypso coral and old olive, I stamped two images. I die cut the image using the mini scallop stitched circle and then ran it through the linen impression plate. fms ppa 1 (547x640)

I die cut a vanilla mini scallop rectangle and ran it thru the linen plate as well to use as my card front. I added the sentiment from the SU! picture perfect stamp set. A couple of pieces of lost lagoon ribbon and some enamel dots and pearls and I layered everything per the sketch. fms ppa 2 (640x436)

Thanks for stopping by today! Tomorrow starts a new Retro Rubber Challenge so be sure to stop back!

Welcome to a new challenge at As You See It! This challenge is all about swirls. And let me tell you – I was challenged. I actually made two cards and someday I may post the other one after I do a little more work on it. I really wasn’t happy with it.

#123 Feb 12 16

But this card I am pretty pleased with. I don’t really have that many swirly type stamps so I used this swirly flourish from the SU! Everything Eleanor stamp set. aysi 123 1 (516x640)

I added a sentiment and then used some silver pearl embossing powder on the swirls and sentiment to take it up a notch. And keeping with a monochromatic theme, I punched some hearts out of the sky blue and popped them up on the card base with a few rhinestones. I don’t make many one layer cards and this week I made two! aysi 123 2 (640x523)

Now it’s your turn – get your swirl on and link up your crafty creation HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! I am off for the weekend but will be back on Monday! Happy Valentine’s Day!

Supplies: CS: SU! soft sky. Stamps: SU! everything Eleanor. PTI choose joy. Other: WOW silver pearl embossing powder. SU! heart to heart punch. PTI linen impression plate. Rhinestones.

A Love Of Chevrons...

Today’s fun card is for the Sunday Stamps color challenge. The colors are dark and light brown, grey and dark red.  Perfect for making a masculine Valentine’s Day card.

I have had this chunky chevron die and thought it would be perfect to showcase these colors. I wanted some pops of color against a white background. So I die cut the cover plate in white and adhered it to a white card base. ss 1 (554x640)

Then I die cut the chevrons out of SU! sahara sand, chocolate chip, and cherry cobbler and added two of each color to the white frame. I stamped the sentiment in grey (but it looks black) and added a couple of enamel dots and rhinestones. ss 2 (640x467)

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: SU! thicker whisper white, sahara sand, chocolate chip and cherry cobbler. Inks: PTI smokey shadow. Stamps: PTI keep it simple valentine. Dies: MFT chunky chevron cover up. Other: SU! enamel dots and rhinestones.

February Pals Blog Hop...

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for February 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are CASE-ing a project shown in a current Stampin’ Up! catalog. After all, with the Annual, Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs available right now, there is much inspiration to choose from. We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

How fun is this blog hop! I am casing the peach card project on page 47 of the Occasions Catalog! I thought it was a fun card that I could switch up and make in to a romantic card! pals blog hop feb 1 (545x640)

I used the dots and stripes stencils and some cherry cobbler ink to stencil my background and then added the splatter stamp from Timeless Textures. I stamped the sentiment and then used my circle framelits to die cut it and a piece of cherry cobbler to back the sentiment. pals blog hop feb 2 (640x341)

Using the banner die from the large numbers framelits and some glitter paper (glitter alert!) I cut the banner and placed underneath my circles along with some metallic silver thread. I added that cute red heart using my confetti heart punch. That’s it! From Peaches to Romance!

Thanks for visiting. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Retro Rubber Challenge #31 part two...

We are on our second week of the Retro Rubber color challenge. So I used my colors and made a card according to the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch.

I started by die cutting the heart border in real red and pink pirouette. I added a couple of those pink hearts to the red border. Then I stamped and die cut this sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. It is a perfect sentiment to be used all year round, not just Valentine’s Day! rrcb 31 3 (528x640)

I used one of my heart punches to punch the small heart and added it to the sentiment for a little something extra. I layered the card front on a piece of pink pirouette and then on the real red card base. rrcb 31 4 (640x487)

Be sure to play along with the Retro Rubber color challenge and link up HERE!

Thank you for stopping in today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow for the Pals Blog Hop!

Supplies: CS: SU! real red, pink pirouette and white. Stamps: SSS hello beautiful. Dies: MFT zig zag ovals. Sugar Pea Designs heart border. SU! heart to heart punch. PTI linen impression plate.

With A Smile...

Hello Monday! Here we go again! I played along with the Freshly Made Sketches sketch and the colors from a PaperTrey Ink color challenge.

I love the sketch because it really opens the mind to a lot of possibilities! I ended up with something pretty basic – a sentiment and die cut flowers, but I love how clean it looks. fms pti 1 (534x640)

I stamped the flowers in PTI hibiscus burst and simply chartreuse and then die cut them. I die cut the rectangle and ran it thru the linen impression plate after stamping the sentiment. I cut a couple pieces of pattern paper and then I layered everything according to the sketch. fms pti 2 (640x479)

This week my cards all deal with love in some manner although not all in the traditional Valentine’s romantic way. So be sure to pop in and check them out!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies: PTI white, kraft and bitty box basics – lemon tart and raspberry fizz. Stamps: PTI choose joy and bitty bouquets. Dies: PTI linen impression plate and bitty bouquets. MFT mini scallop stitched rectangles. Inks: Memento black. PTI simply chartreuse and hibiscus burst.

Lots O' Hearts...

Welcome to a new As You See It challenge! We have another fun sketch for you and as you can see I switched it up just a bit!

#122 Feb 5 16

I die cut all these hearts using my PTI hearts cover plate. I also used the plate to help me place the hearts in such a perfect pattern. aysi 121 1 (549x640)

I black heat embossed the sentiment and added the button and silver cording. aysi 121 2 (640x432)

Random Hellos...

I have a super simple card for you today!  I was gone over the weekend and had such little time to create that today’s card got the short end of it! 1 (551x640)

I started by using the new SU! Timeless Textures stamp set to stamp a random background in different colors. Then I added the hello and a few pearls and rhinestones. 2 (640x433)

Instead of kraft for the base I opted for vanilla. I like the vanilla and white together!

Thanks for stopping in! Be sure to pop in tomorrow as it will be time for a new As You See It challenge!

Supplies: PTI vanilla and white. Inks: SU! so saffron, marina mist, pear pizzazz, and pink pirouette. Stamps: SU! timeless textures and Hello. Other: pearls and rhinestones. PTI linen impression plate.

Finding Joy...

I just love the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch! So I kept pretty close to the sketch and this is what I came up with!

I started by die cutting the clouds, sun and rainbow. I added some marina mist ink on the white cardstock and ran the cardstock thru the linen impression plate. cts 1 (591x640)

I layered everything on the card, only popping up the small cloud and the sun. Then added the sentiment. Everything went on kraft cardstock and I was done! cts 2 (640x428)

Thanks for stopping in today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI kraft and white. SU! cherry cobbler, daffodil delight, and pumpkin pie. Ink: SU! marina mist. Dies: PTI linen impression plate. Lil Inkers rainbows and clouds, large sunshine. Stamps: MFT cheerful blessings.

Retro Rubber Challenge #31...

There is a brand new challenge starting today at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog! This one is a color challenge – red, white, and pink! Perfect for Valentine’s Day! Even though my card is not for Valentine’s Day!

Today is my niece’s 16th birthday so I had to make a sweet 16 card for her! I started by die cutting the word sweet in pink pirouette four times and cherry cobbler twice and stacked them up. Then I added a piece of pattern paper on the white card front to set the stage for my stamping. I stamped 16 using the SU! skinny mini alpha set. This set came out in 2014. rrcb 31 1 (564x640)

I stamped the “happy birthday” in the lower right corner using my PTI Tag Its #10 stamps that I won at a gift exchange several years ago. I added a few punched hearts and rhinestones and layered everything on cherry cobbler. rrcb 31 2 (640x378)

Now it’s your turn! Be sure to play along and link up HERE!

Happy Groundhogs Day! Will he see his shadow? Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: SU! white, cherry cobbler, pink pirouette, patterns love dsp. Stamps: SU! skinny mini alpha. PTI tag its #10. Dies/Punches: PTI linen impression plate. RC lovey words. SU! heart to heart punch. Other: Rhinestones.
