Happy St Pats!...

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Go forth and partake of green beer and corn beef and cabbage! Neither of which I will be doing! I may have some Irish in me but not enough to convince me I should have either of these things!

Www.seejanestamp.com 317 1 (640x628)

I decided to make another green rainbow and used five colors to stamp the stripes. I added the two sentiments and a few sequins for the “gold”.  I spritzed some gold on the white cardstock but it barely shows up in the picture. I opted to make this a square card (4.25) and die cut the rainbow with the mini stitched scallop die.

Shall We Dance?...

Today’s card was made for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. This was a most interesting sketch and it took a little doing before I came up with something that I thought could work.

I started by cutting a piece of this fun paper and adhered to the card front. Then I added the sentiment and the foot prints.

Www.seejanestamp.com cts 1 (529x640)

I ran the card front thru the linen impression plate and popped it up on a white base. I am really pleased with this card! I think I managed to come up with a good answer for this sketch.

Retro Rubber Challenge #34...

Welcome to a new challenge at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog! This time we have an Easter theme which can mean bunnies, eggs, candy, flowers, etc – anything Easter!

RRCB 34

I opted to do a simple bouquet of tulips. Instead of using my standard black to stamp the image, I grabbed my sahara sand and was so pleased with the softness of the image. Note to self: use sahara sand more often!

I used the colors from the Fab Friday challenge of blushing bride, mint macaron, and pool party. I originally colored the image with markers but I didn’t care for the result. So I tried a different option – I used a qtip and ran it across the ink pad before coloring the image. By doing that, it created a softer image, similar to what you would get when you use chalk. To add some background, I added a bit of pool party around the image.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 34 ff 1 (555x640)

This stamp came out in 2014 and I have used it a couple of times. I added the sentiment (which came out this year) and was done. A lovely single layer card that will be winging its way to my Aunt and Uncle for Easter. Funny thing – I didn’t realize until the card was done that I had used one old stamp and one new. But that is perfectly fine for the Retro Rubber challenge! You need one older stamp to qualify!

A Single Tulip...

How do Monday! I am happy to report that our girls’ basketball team won their state championship game on Saturday! They are back to back champions, having won last year! A pretty awesome achievement!

Today’s card was made for the Freshly Made Sketches sketch using the Color Throwdown colors. I started by stamping the stem out of old olive and the tulip out of tangerine tango and crushed curry inks. I added the milk bottle and filled in some water with marina mist.

A sentiment, a piece of pattern paper from my stash and a trip thru the linen impression plate and this card is done.

Flowers For AYSI...

Welcome to a new challenge at As You See It! Today’s challenge is a color challenge with some fun colors of so saffron, melon mambo, and cucumber crush. These are Stampin’ Up colors so feel free to use a soft yellow, a bright pink and a bright green and you are good to go!

#127 Mar 11 16

I opted to make a one layer card for this challenge. I started by stamping a doily of so saffron for the background and then added the flowers out of melon mambo and cucumber crush.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 127 1 (509x640)

I finished off by adding a sentiment and running the card thru my linen impression plate. A fairly simple card with colors that I thought might be hard to marry together. But I love how this turned out!

Haven't Heard A Peep...

Today’s card was made for the Pals Paper Arts color challenge of cucumber crush, watermelon wonder, and pool party. Three interesting colors to mix!

PPA-291-Mar10

I thought about flowers but opted for a fun peep card instead! I die cut three peeps – one in each of the required colors.

Www.seejanestamp.com ppa 1 (582x640)

Then I added a strip of dsp and die cut a white mini scalloped circle for the peeps to go on. I dug around in my stash for a cute peep sentiment. I love peep stuff! And decided on this one. A perfect sentiment for someone you haven’t heard from in a while!

Www.seejanestamp.com ppa 2 (640x416)

I added everything to the base of tip top taupe and was done.

That’s it for today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Irish Rainbows...

As usual I am playing along with the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge and was able to combine it with three others – The Card Concept (shamrocks/patterns/greens), The Curtain Call (key lime) and The Paper Players (rain or shine). Uff da, that is a lot of challenges for me! Three is usually my max but sometimes things just work out!

I started my clean and layered card with a base of pear pizzazz. I added a piece of white that I die cut a curved edge to showcase my sentiment.

Www.seejanestamp.com cts cc pp 1 (524x640)

When I first saw this sketch and the two green challenges, I instantly thought of a monochromatic rainbow. So I die cut the rainbow out of old olive, lucky limeade, and pear pizzazz. I added a couple of clouds and a bit of sunshine!

Www.seejanestamp.com cts cc pp 2 (640x515)

I am tickled pink (read: green) with this card! LOL! Something fun for St. Patty’s Day!

Retro Rubber Challenge #33 part two...

It’s the second week of the Retro Rubber sketch challenge! And I am using the lovely colors from the Sunday Stamps challenge of pink, chocolate, and white. Bonus – I can play along with the NBUS challenge again today. Does this mean I have way too many new stamps? I think so!!

RRCB 33

I switched things up a bit by using a large sentiment die cut for the shapes. I cut three sentiments out of pink pirouette and adhered them together using Elmer’s spray adhesive. This stuff makes life so much easier!

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb ss 1 (640x543)

I added the rest of the sentiment in chocolate chip ink and then piled on the bling. This card is going to a friend of mine who has had an unexpected medical emergency! So I am definitely sending prayers her way!

Tulips In The Spring...

Welcome to Monday! Today’s card was made for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. It also qualifies for the NBUS challenge where you get to use Never Before Used Schtuff! Thank you for the fun challenge Darnell!

I started by stamping and die cutting these lovely tulips in blushing bride and calypso coral. I wrapped some crisp cantaloupe twine around the stems to create a bundle.  I just received this stamp set from Papertrey Ink and could hardly wait to break it in!

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 1 (640x522)

Then I added a couple of pieces of paper from my stash to the card front in accordance with the sketch. I stamped a spring sentiment (from a stamp set that I have never used!), adhered everything and was done.

Thanks For AYSI...

Welcome to a new As You See It challenge! Today’s challenge is a fun sketch!

#126 Mar 3 16

I started by inking up my SU! well worn words background stamp randomly with a yellow and an orange. Then I stamped onto white cardstock.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 126 1 (568x640)

I stamped the sentiment and die cut using my pierced circles. I popped the circles up on the card front after I added some thread. Then I added the card front to a crumbcake base.
