Retro Rubber Challenge #37...

Welcome to the new Retro Rubber Challenge! This time we have a sketch challenge and I love those!

RRCB 37

I made this card for a very dear friend of mine who will be moving away in a few weeks. She and her hubs are off to new jobs and new adventures and it has been a pleasure getting to know them!

I started with the SU! What’s Your Type (2014) and made the word good out of the images. Then I used the SU! Back to Basics alpha (2014) and stamped the word bye.  I added some pattern and solid paper according to the sketch, ran everything thru my linen impression plate and then die cut a stitched rectangle before adhering to the lost lagoon card base. Clean and simple!

Be sure to play along with us! Link up your sketchy goodness HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! I am not sure that I am posting anything until Sunday! My crafty time has been limited lately! Bummer!

Supplies: CS: SU! white, lost lagoon, and wisteria wonder. MFT plaid patterns. Inks: SU! lost lagoon, pear pizzazz, and wisteria wonder. Memento black. Stamps: SU! what’s your type and back to basics alphabet. Dies: PTI linen impression plate. MFT blueprints 13.

Wow, that's such a great way to use that stamp set! I love how you combined the two fonts and the colors from the DSP and cardstock look so springy. So sorry you are losing friends but they will surely know you will miss them with such a pretty card!

Must admit, I won't be sorry to see that stamp set go. I used it one time for a panel that said "Home Sweet Home" and that was enough usage for me. You, however, did a great job showcasing the images into a sentiment! And I do love how you added the "bye" with another font set. SU did not provide stitched dies as I hod hoped.... I so love to see cards made with them! Guess I will be checking other sources.... :)

I LOVE how the font matches the plaid on your card...so clever & creative! Your friends will treasure this, I am sure! Thanks again for asking me to be a GD this week!

Hello Jane: Well, you created a fabulous card with this set that in all honesty, I couldn't find anything good about when I first saw it on the catalog, but it takes someone incredibly creative to use this shapes to make a card like this one. The combination of colors in the word "good" is lovely and matches the colors of the beautiful DSP perfectly. I like how you went with black for the word "bye", it really makes your eye focus on the entire sentiment.
I've been putting off getting a set of the stitched dies, but now I'm going to go hunt for one, they add such beautiful and subtle detail to the panel.
Hugs,
Maria.

I think your card is really cute. Don't you love the plaid papers?

Oh Queen of CAS, your cards make me so happy!! I love this, I have contemplated buying that Alpha set..but never really liked the creations I saw until now!! Love the colourways.. we are stitching twins..you too have matched up all the stitched edges..are we sad for being so precise? Cx

I've never seen this SU set before, but I sure love how you used it. It looks so great with the plaid. Fabulous CAS card and I'm loving this retro challenge!
