Retro Rubber Challenge #39...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge! We are celebrating flowers in May!

RRCB 39

I started by stamping this old image of an iris. I always love to see the irises show up in the spring! I am not sure how long I have had the image – it came in a set of four flowers that I think I bought back in the mid 90’s.

I clear embossed the image and then watercolored with my zig markers. I LOVE these markers! So worth the price – I have had them for several months but never used them! Shame on me!

After watercoloring, I backed the image with a piece of perfect plum and then adhered to a soft stone base. I added a sentiment and was done.

Be sure to join us! Bust out your old flowers stamps, whip up a card, and link it up HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies: Watercolor paper. PTI soft stone. SU! perfect plum. Stamps: Iris stamp from stash. Reverse Confetti walk by faith. Other: Zig clean color markers.

Love to see the old stamps and this iris is truly beautiful. Oh, I have so many old stamps that would love to be used! I hope to play more and more in the future. Thanks for having me!

Jane, you always do CAS so wonderfully! The colors are perfect. I too enjoy iris blooms, but alas have none around my home. I think the are a favorite for deer to munch on!

Absolutely gorgeous card! Great use of the Zigs!

Oh Jane, I'm so glad you finally used your Zig markers, this card is gorgeous!!! and this Iris image is a keeper!! Your coloring is fabulous, I love the look of the clear embossing, it's softer and more natural than stamping with black inks, I need to remember that.
And I agree with Neva, you always do CAS beautifully.
Thank you for sharing.
Hugs,
Maria.

Jane, glad you broke out the Zig markers, I have a couple..I love them, need to buy more!! I love Irises, they remind me of my Grandmother's garden when I was a child. I love the soft colours of your card, very soothing. I need soothing right now LOL. Cx

Beautiful! Soft, delicate, and perfectly watercolored. I do not know about Zig markers and I will have to remain that way! My craft budget is way overextended for now! LOL Lovely card, Pal!

Katy McGloin

Love the coloring of the irises, Jane! You really do take CAS to a new level... this is stunning and especially with the stone base!!

Jane, love your water coloring. I have not tried to clear emboss and then water color. I may have to try this. Love all the details of your card.

Christine Traversa

Gotta have that sentiment stamp. I love it! Your watercoloring is so soft and lovely. ❤️
