Hope Perches...

Hello Wednesday! I have a super clean and simple card that I made for the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. I ended up making two versions and you will see both!

I stamped this lovely sentiment that I purchased from Verve stamps a while ago. I was saving it for the right card. Then I added a simple die cut red bird to the sentiment. I love the impact the bird makes.

Then I went a bit crazy and sprayed some black ink on the background. I like both versions but the stark white appeals to me a bit more than the other. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by today! I won’t be posting Thursday as I will have two posts on Friday. See you then!

Retro Rubber Challenge #41 part two...

It’s the second week of the Retro Rubber Color Challenge to use red, white and blue. So I thought I would combine the color challenge with the sketch challenge at Paper Players.

RRCB 41

I die cut this pinking edge square with some nautical pattern paper to get my red, white and blue in. Then I stamped the sentiment and used a pierced oval to die cut and also die cut a real red fishtail.

I put everything together per the sketch and then decided the sentiment should sit jauntily to the right a bit. LOL! I added a bit of bling and was done.

Hello Summer...

It’s Monday again but by this time next week we will be half over with summer. What? I know! Summer just got started! And summer is what this post is all about!

I started with the fun sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I dug out this summery paper from my stash and die cut two pierced circles. Then I cut a thin strip of vintage linen cream to separate the patterned circles and to follow the sketch.

I adhered everything to the card base and then added the word “summer”. It may be less like “hello” summer and more like “hey, where are you going” summer! LOL! I added a puffy heart, pearls and enamel dot and was done.

I hope you are enjoying your summer! Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Pearls To The Rescue...

Happy Friday! Today I have a card with absolutely no stamping. I was digging thru my pattern paper stash and liked this piece so well I thought I would make a card around it.

Www.seejanestamp.com 624 1 (640x498)

I cut the piece out and backed with blushing bride. Then I layered it on another piece of pattern paper adhered to the crumbcake base.

I added the string of pearls at the last minute – mainly because I felt a little lost without stamping anything and thought the pearls would add some interest!

That’s it for me! Thanks for stopping by today! I am off for the weekend but will be back on Monday!

Supplies: CS: SU! crumbcake and blushing bride. Pattern paper from stash. Other: SU! pearls.

Just Ducky...

I don’t know about you but I was feeling anything but ducky yesterday! Just one of those days you wonder why you got out of bed! LOL! So here is hoping today will be better!

Just a quick one layer card today to play along with the One Layer Simplicity Challenge to use a stencil.

Www.seejanestamp.com olc 1 (579x640)

I stenciled my background using a mini chicken wire stencil and added the duck and the sentiment.  After I got done I thought I should have used a rooster or a chicken to stay with the “chicken” wire theme but didn’t like the sentiments as well!

Here’s hoping your day is great! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. Inks: SU! daffodil delight. Memento black. Stamps: PTI on the farm. Other: MFT small chicken wire stencil. PTI linen impression plate.

Sunbursts In Blue and Green...

Happy Wednesday! I have a fun card to share today using the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.

I started with my sunburst stamps and some twisted citron and salty ocean inks. I randomly stamped the images in a pattern similar to the sketch and added the sentiment.

I ran my card thru the linen impression plate and in the end decided to not add any bling – which I debated about doing for quite a while!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. Stamps: Clearly Besotted sunburst. Inks: Ranger distress inks – salty ocean and twisted citron. Other: PTI linen impression plate.

Retro Rubber Challenge #41...

Welcome to a new challenge at the Retro Rubber Challenge! This time we have a color challenge – just in time for the fourth of July or really any reason to use red, white and blue!

RRCB 41

I started by die cutting a couple of fishtail banners – one in real red and one in some star paper. I am following the Fab Friday sketch and think this card turned out rather niftily.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 41 1 (594x640)

I added a bit of striped paper on either side of the banners and a bit of twine and a star to finish off the card. I slipped the sentiment in at the last minute (because I realized that I had NO stamping on this card!) on the star banner where it fits perfectly.  (The stamp is about 3 or 4 years old).

Now it’s your turn! Create a card with some red, white and blue and link up your creation HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: SU! White and real red. Pattern paper from stash. Stamps: PTI red, white and blue. Other: MFT stitched fishtail banners. PTI linen impression plate. SU! Linen thread. Star.

Greetings, Earthling!...

Happy Monday! Today I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. As I was searching for a stamp to use, I ran across this old SU! stamp set and decided to use it.

I stamped the alien in black and then colored in the dots with Bermuda bay and his eye, belly and nails with crushed curry. Then I cut him out using the wonky stitched ovals and popped him up a bit with some foam tape.

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 1 (532x640)

I glued a piece of dsp to the card base and also a thin piece of black to help hide the edge and ground the card. I stamped this sweet lil greeting, flagged the ends and popped up on the base as well.

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 2 (640x437)

Thank you to The Curtain Call for choosing THIS card as a show stopper!  I am thrilled and honored!

That’s it for today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Flowers For AYSI...

Welcome to a new challenge at As You See It! Today we have a sketch challenge for you to try. Remember this challenge runs two weeks so you have plenty of time to play along!

  #137 June 17 16

I did a different take on this sketch by stamping a row of flowers. I used alternating Bermuda bay/coastal cabana and calypso coral/crisp cantaloupe inks.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 137 1 (640x511)

I added a sentiment and then die cut the card front with a stitched rectangle. At the last minute, I added a scalloped piece of coastal cabana before adhering to the card base.
