Retro Rubber Challenge #43...
July 19, 2016
Welcome to a new challenge at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog! We have a fun anything goes with a summer theme this time! Just use anything summer and you are good to go!
I opted to use this fun set from Lawn Fawn called Happy Summer. I have had it for a couple of years and have never used it!
I stamped the ants and sentiment. Then I added the watermelon and colored in with markers. I am using the sketch from this week’s CAS(E) this Sketch challenge to put it all together.
I added a bit of pink gingham, to remind me of a picnic, and a bit of pear pizzazz under the white. Plus I thought those colors also followed the look of a watermelon!
Now it’s your turn! Be sure to ink up something fun and summery and link up HERE!
Thanks for stopping by today! My posting will be a bit sporadic over the next few weeks. I plan to play along with the Papertrey Ink Stamp-a-faire day this weekend so I will be posting quite a bit then. But then it will be just a post here and there after that for a bit, so please bear with me until I am back to posting on a regular schedule.
Supplies: CS: PTI white and hibiscus burst gingham. SU! pear pizzazz and crumbcake. Stamps: Lawn Fawn happy summer. Inks: SU! old olive, pear pizzaz and melon mambo. Dies: PTI linen impression plate.

This is so fun! Super sweet take on the sketch!

Oh my gosh!! this card reminds me of some Loony Toons cartoons we used to watch when our grandkids were little. I think one of them was with Elmer Fud trying to have a picnic and the ants were just carrying his lunch to their nest, even a huge watermelon, it was funny when it just disappeared into that little hole, WHOLE!!!
What a funny and adorable card Jane, I too love that pop of bright pink gingham paper, there is something about gingham and summer, perfect match.
Hugs,
Maria.

Just what makes that little old ant
Think he'll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can't
Move a rubber tree plant.
But he's got high hopes, he's got high hopes
He's got high apple pie, in the sky hopes
This is the song that is now looping through my brain, my dear Jane! Your card is so creative and adorably summer!! As always, pure creative genius - all wrapped up in a CAS card. Amazing!!
