SAF Gilded In Gold...

Danielle Flanders challenged us to use gold leaf on a project. So I did. And promptly ruined two dies. I am sick. Too bad I didn’t follow the directions!

So here is what you are supposed to – die cut and then gold leaf the cut out. I thought I would save some time and gold leaf the chipboard and then die cut. Hello ruined dies. Cripes! I did have to giggle at my stupidity!

So I die cut the leaf out of gold adhesive paper and stuck to the card after adding the sentiment. So I cheated a little – but I was pretty sick over the dies and didn’t feel like dealing with the gold leaf again! Lesson learned – oh and the fact that I will be reordering the leaf silhouette dies.

On a bright note – I followed the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge for the card.

Onward and upward! Next – that don’t impress me much and yet it does! LOL!

What a shame about your dies! I'm so glad I read this because as I was watching the video, I too, thought that gilding the card stock first would be a good idea! Thanks for saving my dies!

I meant to add how much I love your card!

So sorry about your dies! Your end result is quite beautiful though! I saw this gilding challenge but hadn't had a chance at it yet, thanks for sharing!

The card is gorgeous!! How did you ruin the dies? Did the gold leaf get attached to the dies? Could you use nail polish remover or something perhaps??

That's really too bad about your dies! How are they ruined exactly?
I love that leaf in gold! Great take on the sketch!
