Retro Rubber Challenge #47...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge! This one is an Anything Goes! So bust out your old stamps and get to work!

I started by stenciling a leaf background and then die cutting a couple of leaves out of crushed curry and cajun craze. I cut the card front down a bit and centered on the card base before adding a piece of pear pizzazz. rrcb 47 3 (556x640)

The stamped sentiment is from a Reverse Confetti set that I have had about three years. The original sentiment said “Happy Fall” but I masked off the happy and stamped the fall. I added a die cut hello and a bit of twine on the leaves and I was done! rrcb 47 4 (640x297)

I am entering this card in the following challenges: CAS(E) this Sketch (sketch), Paper Players (color) and Addicted to CAS (theme).

A Monday Thank You...

Hello Monday! Today’s card was made for Freshly Made Sketches (sketch) and The Challenge (color).

I started with a base of crumbcake and added a square of calypso coral. I die cut a circle and added a leaf and the sentiment. fms tc 1 (581x640)

I die cut a strip of pattern paper and then put everything together according to the sketch. A few enamel dots and I was done! fms tc 2 (640x419)

Thank you to the crew at CAS(E) this Sketch for selecting THIS card as an honorable mention!  I am thrilled!

I have been seeing beautiful sunflowers all over town and that inspired me to dig out a sunflower stamp and see what I could do with it.  I heat embossed the image in black on watercolor paper. And using distress inks, watercolored the image. 9 (548x640)

I cut down the paper and backed it with a piece of crushed curry and then adhered to a kraft base. The sentiment was chosen based on its length as I planned to stamp it up the side of the image and wanted something that would balance well. 10 (640x477)

I am entering my card in the Inspired By All The Little Things challenge.

Flowers In The Fall...

I did a bit of watercoloring over the weekend and made several projects that I will eventually post on the blog.

When I was done, I cut the image down to be able to play along with the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge. I embossed the sentiment on black and added it so the card front and then adhered to a kraft base. cts 2 (640x451)

I added some dots and then called it a day! Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Retro Rubber Challenge #46 part two...

We are on our second week of the Retro Rubber critter challenge!

I thought I would play along again because I have a ton of critter stamps! I stamped this cute image from the SU! from the herd stamp set and colored with pencils and gamsol. rrcb 46 3 (550x640)

I die cut the circle getting as many of these cute faces in the circle as I could. Then I added a piece of soft suede as the backing. rrcb 46 4 (640x369)

I used a piece of pattern paper, stamped the sentiment and popped up the image. The sketch from The Challenge came in handy for this card!

100 Years...

Today’s card was made for a most delightful lady who will be turning 100 soon. My mom asked if I could make something up for her and I quickly agreed. A couple of years ago I made THIS card for this same lady when she turned 98! Imagine – 100! Pretty amazing and a pretty amazing lady! fms 1 (640x495)

I started by die cutting 100 three times and layering them together. Then I took a bit of gold vellum and some blue cardstock and adhered to a white base. fms 2 (640x375)

I stamped the sentiment and then added the 100th after I used some gold shimmer mist to spray on the 100 and the blue cardstock. It is really hard to see in the picture but the gold is there!

I followed the sketch (loosely) from Freshly Made Sketches to give me a jumping off point for this card.

That’s it for today! Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. SU! baja breeze and winter wonderland vellum. Dies: SU! large number. PTI linen impression plate and suffix style. Stamps: PTI keep it simple birthday 2. Other: gold shimmer spray.

A bit of watercoloring is finishing off the week. I stamped this image in versamark and then used white embossing powder to outline the image. 1 (554x640)

Using my zig markers, I watercolored the leaves and flowers. I added a bit of blue around the image and added the sentiment. 2 (640x468)

I put the card front on kraft and added a bit of bright pattern paper on the edge. I was pretty happy with the watercoloring and this card when I finished up!

Thanks for stopping by today! I am off for the weekend so I will see you back here Monday!

Supplies: PTI kraft and hibiscus burst plaid. Watercolor paper. Stamps: SU! sweetbriar rose. SSS choose happy. Other: Zig markers.

For The Birds For House Of Cards...

Welcome to our new challenge at House of Cards! This month you get to use either a bird on your card, the colors or both.

I tried a mix of both. I stamped the image and watercolored the birds in peach and grays. I added a bit of grass and sky and then die cut using a double stitched oval. hoc sept 1 (565x640)

I popped my image up on a piece of pattern paper, added some twine and put everything together – with just a smidge of bling. hoc sept 2 (640x592)
