Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  We have a fun travel themed challenge for you that requires you use a mode of transportation on your card.

I immediately thought of my Simon Says Stamp Road Trip stamps that came out in 2014.  The station wagon took me back to when I was a kid and many a vacations that my family went on.

I colored the wagon ala National Lampoon’s Vacation style before die cutting and popping up on the card front.  I stamped an outline of the US underneath the card front and die cut a circle to show off the outline.

It’s time for a new As You See It Challenge!  This challenge requires you to use five items on your card – stripes, circles, dark blue, brads and birds.  Now, this is harder than you imagine and the card I am posting today is my second attempt.  The first card will not see the light of day!  LOL!

I started by stamping a circle in daffodil delight and some stripes in pink pirouette.  I added a die cut bird out of night of navy and then a sentiment followed by a night of navy brad.

I used my mini stitched scallop rectangle to die cut and then popped it up on a night of navy base.  My first attempt included a bird cage, birds and a lot of stripes.  It was awful!  I am happier with this card and already have plans to send it to someone who could use a pick me up.

I started by stamping a couple of berry images in two shades of pink and green.

Then I added the sentiment from the Reverse Confetti The Lord’s Strength stamp set from 2016.  I die cut and then layered over another diecut circle for a bit of interest.

I added a few enamel dots and was done!

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  We have a sketch challenge for you and it’s a fun one!!

I started by stamping the sentiment and die cutting the rectangle and running it thru the linen impression plate.

By using some lemon lime twist and tranquil tide inks and mixing them into embossing paste, I ran the paste over a stencil and waited for it to dry.

I sponged the lemon lime and tranquil tide inks onto a white doily before layering everything according to the sketch.  A bit of linen thread finished off my card.

It’s a new month and a new House of Cards Challenge!  You can either use the colors and/or text on your card.

I did a little of both.  I added a few images of French text from my SU! French Foliage stamp set and then added a sunflower.

Using my color pencils, I colored in the image before adding a sentiment and a bit of rust colored cardstock behind the image.  I attached everything to a card base of Sahara sand and was done.
