Retro Rubber Challenge 96...

It’s a new challenge at Retro Rubber with a fun sketch by Claire Grantham!

I love a great sketch so I went to town with a Christmas card.  Using pattern paper and cardstock I created the bulk of the sketch. rrcb 96 1 (640x563)

I die cut three threes and a circle and then arranged according to the sketch.  That was when I realized I forgot about the sentiment!  So I went for it and just stamped on the patterned paper.  The sentiment is from my trusty 2016 Clearly Besotted Message Me set. rrcb 96 2 (640x452)

Supplies:  CS:  SU! white, real red, old olive, crumbcake, smokey slate, and merry moments dsp.  Dies:  RC trees.  Stamps:  CB Message Me (2016).

Blues For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  I love a good color challenge and this is it!  Use dapper denim, Bermuda bay and lemon lime twist on your card.

#185 9.21.18

I started by slanting a piece of dapper denim that I topped with a slice of white card stock and Bermuda bay across my card base.  I liked how the white separated those colors and makes the blue kind of float. aysi 185 1 (556x640)

I die cut some wheat using the dapper denim and lemon lime twist and adhered to the card.  Finally, I added a sentiment. aysi 185 2 (640x408)

Retro Rubber Challenge 95...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  For this challenge you can use the colors, the images, a school theme or a mix of them.

I went with the school theme when I actually started out planning to use apples.  But I found the fun pattern paper and went with it. rrcb 95 1 (582x640)

I backed some pattern paper with solid cardstock and adhered to the white card base.  Then I used the ABC image from the SU! bookcase builder stamp set from 2017 to stamp a background. rrcb 95 2 (640x513)

I opted for a repeat pattern with different inks and then added some twine across the top.  Just a fun little fact, the surface that I use in my photos is actually an old school desktop complete with pencil tray and ink well (which you can't see).

The Basics For AYSI...

We have a fun new challenge at As You See It!  This challenge is called back to basics – and it is what it says – paper, ink, and stamps.  That’s it!

#184 9.7.18

I love a great clean and simple card.  In my first holiday card of the season, I used green, red and black inks.  Can’t get any more clean and simple than that! aysi 184 1 (595x640)

I stamped the images in the bottom corner to leave all that lovely white space!  On which I would normally use my linen impression plate – but not today! aysi 184 2 (640x564)

September House Of Cards...

Welcome to a new challenge at House of Cards!  As always, we have a fun challenge with making either a birthday card, using the colors or both.

September Birthday theme and or colors

My apologies to my teammates and to you for the late post today!  You know when you wake up in the middle of the night and wonder what day it is?  And then remember you were supposed to have a card made and a post up for today?  Yep!  That was me!  But better late than never! Sept HOC 1 (580x640)

I went for the birthday card with a bit of the colors thrown in.  I dug out some of my funky patterned paper and adhered to a base of white. Sept HOC 2 (640x352)

I accidently shorted the striped piece but I love the result – it adds a bit more something something to the card.  I added the sentiment and then ran the card through the linen impression plate.
