Brownie Points For AYSI...

Welcome to a new As You See It Challenge!  This one is a speed challenge (10 minutes) in shades of brown.

#218 1.31.20

I started with a card base of crumbcake.  Then I stamped the thanks image on white before running thru my linen plate and stitched rectangle die. aysi 218 1 (640x518)

I grabbed a scrap from my scrap bag and also some ribbon.  I layered these and attached using staples.  Then I adhered everything to the base at a slant.  I quite like this card! aysi 218 2 (640x380)

Remaining time – 2 minutes 50 seconds!  I was shocked!

Retro Rubber Challenge 127...

It’s a new challenge at Retro Rubber!  We have a tic tac toe challenge so I opted to use the pattern paper, die cut, and sympathy row.

RRCB 127

I started by adding a piece of pattern paper to my card base.  I stamped the daffodil image (from my Stampin’ Up! You’re Inspiring – 2018) and colored using some chalks.  I die cut the image so that I could adhere to the card base. rrcb 127 1 (578x640)

I stamped the sentiment (Clearly Besotted Message Me 2016) and then die cut using my washi tape dies.  Finally I popped it up and then added a few rhinestones. rrcb 127 2 (640x462)

Love For AYSI...

Welcome to a new challenge at As You See It!  We have a love theme for this go around so I went pretty clean and simple (naturally!).

#217 1.17.20

I started with a die cut heart out of white paper before adding an ombre of sweet sugarplum ink to it. aysi 217 1 (623x640)

I added the sentiment and then popped it up on a base of sweet sugarplum with a bit of white twine tied around it. aysi 217 2 (640x468)

Retro Rubber Challenge 126...

It’s a new challenge for a new year at Retro Rubber!  The challenge is to make a winter themed card.  I thought this would be easy until I couldn’t come up with anything!  Luckily, I had a meeting this past weekend where a friend showed off her collection of wreaths.  One of them was a snowflake wreath so I used that for my inspiration.

RRCB 126

I started by drawing a circle and then stamping a variety of snowflake stamps around it.  I used colors that I used on this card that I made a few weeks ago.  These stamps were from my Simon Says Stamp Lots of Snowflakes stamps from 2014. rrcb 126 1 (584x640)

I added the sentiment from my Penny Black Yuletide Wishes stamp set from 2016 and decided to put the stamp a bit to the right.  I moved it around the circle, in and out of the circle and ultimately liked it where it ended up. rrcb 126 2 (640x436)

I added a few rhinestones and some twine before adhering to a card base of soft sky.

Inspiring Words For AYSI...

Welcome to the first As You See It Challenge of 2020!  It’s a recipe challenge to use silver, snowflakes, dry embossing, rhinestones and an inspiring sentiment.

#216 1.3.20

I started by stamping some snowflakes in light gray and then stamping the sentiment over the top in black ink. aysi 216 1 (575x640)

I added a piece of silver cardstock and then ran the card front thru the tin types impression plate.  After that, I die cut using a stitched rectangle and adhered to the black card base. aysi 216 2 (640x401)

Finally I added the rhinestones and was done!  Just a note, these photos may look a little dark – when I lighted them up, the silver was too reflective and made the dry embossing even harder to see.  (The pattern is a stitched diamond and inverted dots at the edges of the diamond.)
