Retro Rubber Challenge 126...
January 14, 2020
It’s a new challenge for a new year at Retro Rubber! The challenge is to make a winter themed card. I thought this would be easy until I couldn’t come up with anything! Luckily, I had a meeting this past weekend where a friend showed off her collection of wreaths. One of them was a snowflake wreath so I used that for my inspiration.
I started by drawing a circle and then stamping a variety of snowflake stamps around it. I used colors that I used on this card that I made a few weeks ago. These stamps were from my Simon Says Stamp Lots of Snowflakes stamps from 2014.
I added the sentiment from my Penny Black Yuletide Wishes stamp set from 2016 and decided to put the stamp a bit to the right. I moved it around the circle, in and out of the circle and ultimately liked it where it ended up.
I added a few rhinestones and some twine before adhering to a card base of soft sky.
Play along and link up HERE!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Supplies: CS: SU! white and soft sky. Stamps: SSS lots of snowflakes (2014). Penny Black yuletide wishes (2016). Inks: SU! baja breeze, pool party and soft sky. Other: Rhinestones. SU! pool party twine. PTI linen impression plate.
Jane, this is a total beauty! The idea of creating a snowflake wreath is a great one! The soft colours you chose are just perfect, as is the placement of the sentiment. SO pretty!

This is so pretty...as if the snowflakes weren't enough, that sentiment is FABULOUS!

Happy New Year Fearless Leader ! Love your wonderful snowflake wreath, so clever. I LOL at you trying out all the places for the sentiment, I do this all the time. Now I stamp onto a piece of vellum if I am undecided and move it around to see where I like it!
