Mimosas For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s time for a color challenge of calypso coral, soft succulent, evening evergreen and crumbcake.

#267 1.28.022

I started by stamping and die cutting the mimosa flowers in calypso coral and soft succulent.  I die cut a brick layer in the white and backed with evening evergreen. aysi 267 1

I adhered everything together and then popped up the sentiment (stamped in evening evergreen) on the card. aysi 267 2

A Snowman In Winter...

I have not played along with any challenges in I don’t know how long but mojo struck so I thought I would give it a try!  I am playing along with the sketch from The Paper Players and the colors from The Card Concept.  It’s a clean and layered card and I am quite pleased with the results.

I started with stamping the fence in Sahara sand and soft suede directly on the card base.  I stamped the snowman in London fog and added the hat, arms, and face before die cutting it. pp cc 1

I stamped, cut and then added the bits of garland and a couple of birds to the fence before adding the snowdrift and snowman.  The sentiment is contrary to a snowman’s wishes – he would want cold blessings! pp cc 2

This card really came together for both challenges – the sketch showcases the colors and wintery inspiration for the card.

Retro Rubber Challenge 174...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s a color challenge to kick off the new year and we are using colors from the 1950s.  We have to use three of these five colors – pastel pink/yellow/green/blue/turquoise.

RRCB 174

I opted for four of the colors and took advantage of using some 1950s style stamps as well.  These stamps are all from Pink Persimmon’s Hello Vintage Girl (2011), Style Girl (2012) and Classic Pattern (2013).  I stamped all the images and then colored in the scissors and the very stylish lady. rrcb 174 1

I die cut using a curved stitched die and then popped it up on a mint macaron base and was done! RRCB 174 2

Best Fishes For AYSI...

It’s a new year and a new challenge at As You See It!  A lovely sketch challenge to kick off the year!

#266 1.14.2022

I started by die cutting two triangles, one in white and one in pattern paper.  I cut the base down to make a 4 X 4 card to create a cozier looking card. aysi 266 1

I stamped the jar, fish, ribbon and sentiment and then die cut and adhered together.  I used a bit of pool party for the water in the jar.  I popped the jar and sentiment up and added some clear dots to look like bubbles.  I quite like how it all came together. aysi 266 2
