Retro Rubber Challenge 190...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s a theme challenge to make a tag or use tags on your card!

RRCB 190

I decided to make a tag.  I die cut a set of tags out of white and real red.  I stamped the light house image from Papertrey Ink Guiding Lights (2015) and then die cut.

I stamped the sentiment from Papertrey Ink’s Pack Your Bags (2014) and then popped the lighthouse up on the tags.  I added some ribbon and twine and was done!

I have a brand new great niece and so this card will go to her parents.  I started by stamping this Noah’s Ark image and coloring with my alcohol markers.

I die cut using my cross stitch squares and then added a couple of smaller ones in pale papaya and mango melody to go behind the main image.  I added a few dark gray dots and adhered to my card base and that was it!

Retro Rubber Challenge 189...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s a color challenge and celebrates colors of the 80s.  We need to use three of these colors – muted mauve, pink, blue, tan or gray.

RRCB 189

I opted to go with blue, pink and tan and created my own plaid design.  Once I had it done – I thought that is a lot of plaid!  So I cut down a piece and decided to show it off thru a chevron cut out die.

I ran the card base of Sahara sand thru the linen plate, added some pink ribbon and attached the chevron/plaid over it.  I finished off the card with a sentiment from my Papertrey Ink It’s The Thought stamp set from 2016.

Distressed For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  We have a recipe challenge and are charged with using watercolor, floral stamps, bright colors, pattern paper and a punch/die.

#281 8.12.2022

I started by watercoloring a background of bright pink.  I then stamped a black daisy image on it.  It came out distressed looking so when life gives you lemons…I decided to embrace the distress!  I grabbed some kraft cardstock for the base and roughed up the edges a bit as well as die cutting the daisy image with my deckled edges die.  Using some granny apple green pattern paper, I die cut a stitched jumbo fishtail and attached to the card base.  I attempted to distress the edges a bit but the pattern paper is thin so I gave up quickly!

I had great debate about adding a sentiment.  By happy accident, I found one that had a bit of a distress to it which I didn’t notice at first.  I stamped the sentiment and started to panic!  I thought I had moved the sentiment and messed up the whole card – but – that is exactly the way the stamp is supposed to look – old fashioned typed lettering that is a bit off.  See, happy accident!  I popped up the daisy image then added a bit of black bling and was done.
