Anniversary

Golden For HOC...

It’s a lovely new challenge at House of Cards!  For this challenge you must use gold or pearl accents or the colors in the challenge image.

November Gold and Pearl Accents and or colors

I opted for a gold and white theme.  I started with three die cuts of wine glasses and a congratulations sentiment.

Something about gold makes me think of happy occasions and we are entering the holiday season so it seemed appropriate.

I finished off the card with a few gold accents and my trusty linen impression plate.

Anniversary Flowers...

Today’s card was made for the Sunday Stamps challenge. They have a sketch challenge going on this week.

I started with some pattern paper from my stash and die cut using my wonky rectangle dies. I inked up this corn flower image with pumpkin pie and always artichoke ink and stamped on some white cardstock.

I die cut the image with my wonky stitched dies as well and then layered the two pieces together. I added a sentiment and flagged both ends and then added to the card base.

Happy Anniversary...

Happy Friday!  Yep – I say it practically every week!  Today’s card is an anniversary card in memory of my parents’ 60th wedding anniversary.  My folks were able to share 53 wonderful years together.  Mom reminded me the other day that it would be their 60th so I decided I would mark the occasion.

I drew inspiration for this card from the House of Cards current challenge.  As it happened, I had stamps that mimic the picture in the inspiration picture.  I used my Rubbernecker abstract poppies stamps, starting with the outline in black and two shades of yellow.  I added a black frame made from my MFT cross stitch dies and then a sentiment.

This card serves another purpose, as the House of Cards is having a design team call so I am throwing my hat into the ring.

Don’t forget about the Retro Rubber challenge – use some ribbon or twine and old stamps and link up your project HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I am off for the weekend but will be back on Monday!

Retro Rubber Challenge #15 part two...

Hello!  Welcome to the second week of the current Retro Rubber #15 challenge!  This challenge is all about vintage and if you read last week’s post, you know how I feel about vintage!

But I am making another attempt at vintage!  This week I stuck with sahara sand, black and white.  I did manage to get a bit of lace on there as well!  Because I needed a sketch, I am playing along with the Deconstructed Sketch challenge.

I used my Pink Persimmon Perfumery stamp set for this card.  I used a background stamp to versamark the sahara sand on the long strip and flag.  Then I stamped the perfume bottle in black on white CS.  I backed the white with a small piece of sahara sand and then distressed all the edges.  I put the card together following the sketch and added a few pearls and a bit of lace.

Happy for Pals Paper Arts...

I was on a washi kick when I was making cards this week.  It’s a sketch challenge over at Pals Paper Arts so I am playing along.  I am thinking of taking a break from this challenge.  So don't be surprised if you don't see me participate in PPA for a while.  Who knows, I may change my mind next week but for now I am not planning on it.

I hadn’t used any of the SU! stacked with love washi so I decided to incorporate it into the card.  I like washi for its ease of use.  It can provide a great background to a card or a great trim.  The washi doesn't show very well in this picture and I really couldn't find a good angle - sorry about that!

Www.seejanestamp.com ppa1 (575x640)

I placed a few pieces on black to set the stage for my sentiments.  I die cut happy 4 times in black and one in brushed gold to give some dimension.  After I added happy to the card, I couldn’t figure out how to add either the rest of the sentiment or a sentiment, period.  That is when I decided I would add the “happy anniversary” to a separate piece of CS and pop it up on the card.

I found some embellies in my stash and decided they would look great on the card.  This isn’t the most complicated card to make, but I like the cleanness of it when all is said and done.

Thanks for stopping by today!  It’s a new challenge at The Friday Mashup tomorrow so be sure to pop by to see what I came up with!

Speaking of challenges – scooch (spelling?) on over to the Retro Rubber blog (brads, brads, brads) to link up your project that you just made (I know you have it handy!).

And great news - I received a shout out at Retro Sketches for THIS card, which was also entered in a PPA challenge a couple of weeks ago.  Thank you to the ladies at Retro Sketches!!

Supplies:  CS:  SU! brushed gold and basic black.  Stamps:  SU! express yourself.  Other:  PTI wet paints die.  Embellies.  SU! stacked with love washi.

Purple roses...

I managed to get quite a few things accomplished in the craft cave this weekend.  Too bad it was mostly reorganizing and not enough card making!!  I was on a cleaning jag and my niece is about to inherit a bunch of paper.  She will be happy about that!

I don’t do a lot of stamping with flowers as a general rule.  But that may have changed – I purchased the Altenew Vintage Roses stamp set and it is as easy as 1 2 3 when stamping the roses.  As easy as the SU! lotus blossom stamp set.  I think I finally got the hang of the two and three step stamping!

Www.seejanestamp.com 1 (640x531)I used wisteria wonder to make these roses.  I stamped off the first layer one time to create the lightest color.  Then it was full strength ink for the second and third layers.  After I finished up with the roses and leaves, I wasn’t sure where the sentiment should be placed.  I remembered these really cool banner dies from SSS that would be a great way to showcase the sentiment.  I stuck with a pretty simple color scheme – all white so that the flowers and sentiment could shine.

Www.seejanestamp.com 2 (640x389)All in all, a really lovely card for a lovely occasion!  I am playing along today with The Friday Mashup (florals) and The Card Concept (anniversaries) - clean and simple card.  (sorry for the photos – winter in Montana makes good lighting near impossible at the best of times!)

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies:  CS:  PTI white.  Inks:  SU! wisteria wonder and wild wasabi.  Memento black.  Stamps:  Altenew vintage roses.  Die:  Simon Says Stamp sketchy banners.
