Fall Leaves For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  Time for a sketch challenge so I went with a fall theme.

#260 10.1.2021

I stamped my branch and leaves in rich cocoa and then used alcohol markers to color.  I drew inspiration from the pattern paper for the leaves. aysi 260 1

I die cut the card front and then added a piece of early espresso to back it and the sentiment strip. I continued that theme with my pattern paper.  A bit of bling and I was done. aysi 260 2

Retro Rubber Challenge 167...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  We have a lovely sketch this time around.

RRCB 167

I started by stamping and die cutting my coffee cup image from my Stampin’ Up! Merry Café stamp set from 2017.  I stamped the sentiment and then die cut to put on the coffee cup instead of below the image. rrcb 167 1

I die cut a curved edge and added some pattern paper to make the basic part of the sketch and then added the coffee cup.  I used some punched leaves and a bit of bling to take the place of the sentiment since I used that on the coffee holder. rrcb 167 2

I was quite pleased with the outcome but full truth – totally not a fan of pumpkin spice.  I love the color and pumpkins but it’s a firm no to the flavor.  So for all of you pumpkin spice lovers – this one’s for you!

Orange You Glad It Is AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It is a fill in the blank so here we go!  The color I avoid using the most is orange.

#239 11.20.20

I started by stamping the berry branch in soft suede and then added the berries in mango melody and pumpkin pie.  I die cut the berries and then popped them up on some orangey plaid and pumpkin pie. aysi 239 1 (640x544)

I stamped the sentiment and then die cut using my washi tag dies before popping it up on the plaid.  The sentiment feels highly appropriate right now. aysi 239 2 (640x327)

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  We are all about fall colors and need to use red, orange and brown on our cards.

RRCB 119

Autumn Flowers For HOC...

Welcome to the October House of Cards Challenge.  Use either the colors in the challenge image, autumn flowers or both.

October Autumn Flowers and or colors

As usual, I did a smidge of both.  I started with a sunflower that I stamped in daffodil delight and peekaboo peach.  I love the depth that I get from the peach ink. hoc oct 1 (597x640)

I added the leaves and the sentiment before drawing a line and dots in the opposite corner to balance the card.  Finally, I ran through the trusty linen impression plate. hoc oct 2 (640x465)

Falling For You...

Can you believe it?  I have a post that is unrelated to any of my design teams!  I am easing back into posting a little more regularly!

I created a card using the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.  It was quite an interesting one so I did my best with my interpretation. cts 1 (531x640)

I used a maple leaf stencil to create a fall background and then added a few random leaves.  Using some stickers, I created a sentiment and was done. cts 2 (640x447)

I really like this card for some reason and hope you do too!

Retro Rubber Challenge #75...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s a color inspiration and the challenge image provides a lot of color choices!

I started with this image from Clearly Gina K Always Autumn from 2014.  I used my colored pencils before adding the sentiment from Papertrey Ink’s Keep It Simple Thanksgiving (2014). rrcb 75 1 (640x545)

Using the sketch from Paper Craft Crew, I added some white jute ribbon and a couple of pieces of cardstock – early espresso and crushed curry.  The early espresso with the chevron cut outs was one of the scraps that I found that went perfectly with the sketch and color challenge. rrcb 75 2 (640x414)

I layered everything together and then added a few dots and pearls.
