Two By Two...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s a theme challenge to make a card for babies!

#282 8.26.2022

I have a brand new great niece and so this card will go to her parents.  I started by stamping this Noah’s Ark image and coloring with my alcohol markers. aysi 282 1

I die cut using my cross stitch squares and then added a couple of smaller ones in pale papaya and mango melody to go behind the main image.  I added a few dark gray dots and adhered to my card base and that was it! aysi 282 2

Retro Rubber Challenge #60 part two...

Welcome to the second week of the Retro Rubber Challenge. Just use baby critters on a card and you are in!

I dug around in my stamp stash and found this old SU! stamp set Love Bug that has been around since before 2009. I stamped and colored the image before die cutting a stitched circle and then a scalloped circle out of crisp cantaloupe. rrcb 60 3 (548x640)

I die cut a stitched fishtail flag and adhered everything to the card base. Be sure to play along with the RR challenge and link up HERE! rrcb 60 4 (640x475)

Retro Rubber Challenge #60...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge! It’s a theme challenge to use baby critters on a card.

This was actually more of a challenge than I thought! I dug deep and used my SU! Barnyard Babies stamp set that came out in 2015. rrcb 60 1 (549x640)

I stamped the lamb and a little chick and colored with my pencils and some chalk. I added a sentiment and a few pearls and a candy dot. I added a bit of pattern paper as well to be able to play along with the sketch challenge at Fab Friday. rrcb 60 2 (640x376)

It's Fair Time...

Today starts the 100th anniversary of our county fair!  We have the longest continuous running fair in Montana and all stops have been pulled out to make this a successful event this year.  We have country music recording artist Clay Walker playing our fair tonight.  I live in a county of about 5000 people so it is pretty cool that we get some big names here.  In the past we have had Toby Keith, Martina McBride and Little Big Town.

One of the great things about a county fair is the exhibits.  Of course, when I was a kid, I hated the exhibits.  When my folks would take us, we had to go through EVERY single exhibit before we were allowed to hit the midway and start riding the rides.  It was pure torture!  Back then you could ride from morning till midnight.  We had tons of rides and games.  Our fair is a little smaller now but there is still plenty to see and do.  And I haven’t even talked about the food!  Cotton candy!!  Corn dogs!!  Burgers!! fair 1 (513x640)

This year I am entering a number of cards in open class and see if I can earn a blue or red ribbon.  There are 15 categories that I plan to enter and thought I had all the cards I needed but am making a couple at the last minute.  This is one of them.  This card was actually seen HERE.  I never put a sentiment on it so I decided to pull off the washi and button/twine and add a sentiment. fair 2 (640x475)

The sentiment is from the SU! Best of series that was put out a couple of years ago.  I used this cute baby stamp and silver embossed it.  Then I used some markers and my blender pen and made an ombre effect in the letters and onesie.  I flagged the end and added a bit of bling and I was done.

I will have a post for you tomorrow as it is time for a new challenge at House of Cards!  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to enjoy the weekend.  Now – I have some fair food to get to!
