I am so excited to be celebrating 100 challenges!  When I started this challenge, I never dreamed we would still be going at 100!

You may just be starting the blog hop or hopped here from Jan Clothier.

I opted for the balloons, ink smooshing and glitter for my card!  I am using this sweet balloon giraffe from Close To My Heart Balloon Animals from 2016.  I heat embossed it in white on a piece of water color paper. rrcb 100 1 (596x640)

I also heat embossed the sentiment before doing my ink smooshing.  I die cut the watercolor paper, adhered to the card base and added glitter dots and rhinestones. rrcb 100 2 (640x405)

September House Of Cards...

Welcome to a new challenge at House of Cards!  As always, we have a fun challenge with making either a birthday card, using the colors or both.

September Birthday theme and or colors

My apologies to my teammates and to you for the late post today!  You know when you wake up in the middle of the night and wonder what day it is?  And then remember you were supposed to have a card made and a post up for today?  Yep!  That was me!  But better late than never! Sept HOC 1 (580x640)

I went for the birthday card with a bit of the colors thrown in.  I dug out some of my funky patterned paper and adhered to a base of white. Sept HOC 2 (640x352)

I accidently shorted the striped piece but I love the result – it adds a bit more something something to the card.  I added the sentiment and then ran the card through the linen impression plate.

Retro Rubber Challenge #86...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge!!  It’s a challenge all about flowers!  It is May after all!

My mom requested a card for a friend of hers who was turning 90.  She wanted purple and the numbers in cork, I wanted flowers.  I started by die cutting the numbers in cork and die cutting a mini scallop stitched rectangle. rrcb 86 1 (557x640)

I stamped the bleeding heart in purple and then added the sentiment and cork numbers.  The stamps are from Papertrey Ink’s Garden Gate (2016) and Clearly Besotted Message Me (2016). rrcb 86 2 (640x490)

I popped up the rectangle and added some dots and pearls to finish off the card.

Retro Rubber Challenge 83...

It’s a new challenge at Retro Rubber!  We have an Anything Goes!

I needed to make a birthday card for my mom.  It ended up being a bit more Christmasy feeling than I had intended but she loved it just the same! rrcb 83 1 (552x640)

I started by using the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch and cut some assorted panels out of patterned paper and adhered to a piece of cream cardstock. rrcb 83 2 (640x536)

I added the sentiment from Clearly Besotted Message Me (2016), ran everything thru the linen impression plate and then popped the cream cardstock up on a base of cream.  I finished it off with a bit of bling and a sweet epoxy heart for my mama!

Retro Rubber Challenge 82...

Welcome to our new challenge at Retro Rubber!  For the first time ever, we are doing a tic tac toe challenge where you use three elements either across, down or diagonally.

I opted for green, die cut and twine.  All lovely elements.  I was going to make a St. Patrick’s Day card but I don’t have a clover leaf die.  Also, it’s hard to feel too happy about clover leafs (or anything springy – lol) when we still have 3-4 feet of snow on the ground. rrcb 82 1 (567x640)

So I switched it up and made a birthday card.  I started with several leaf die cuts that I stacked together.  They have a bit of coppery/gold on the edges as this is a die that I ruined with some paint and the remaining paint clings to my cardstock.  It did add a bit of shimmer. rrcb 82 2 (610x640)

I added the twine and adhered to the card front that I ran thru the linen impression plate.  I added the sentiment (from my 2016 Clearly Besotted Message Me stamp set) and layered the card front on the card base.

March House Of Cards...

March is coming in like a lion around here and it’s also a new challenge at House of Cards.  The challenge is to use colored pencils on dark cardstock and/or the colors in the challenge image.

March Colored Pencils on dark card colors

As usual, I did a bit of both.  I stamped the image in crumbcake ink on crumbcake cardstock and then colored with my pencils. march hoc 1 (517x640)

I added a popped up sentiment and some pearls to finish off the card. march hoc 2 (640x462)

Welcome to a new As You See It Challenge!  Since we are just about to the New Year, our theme is sparkle!  And what could be more sparkly than glitter?  Glitter…the gift that keeps on giving!

#166 12.29.17

I started by using some Bermuda Bay glitter paper and die cutting a hat. And now I officially have glitter everywhere on my table! aysi 166 1 (563x640)

I die cut a scalloped panel and ran it and the card base thru my linen impression plate.  I added the sentiment and then attached the glitter hat.  A cute white fuzzy ball added some dimension and kept the die cut from looking like a mailbox – lol! aysi 166 2 (640x469)

I popped the panel up on the card base and was done!  Be sure to join us!  Link up your sparkles HERE!

Retro Rubber Challenge #56...

It’s time for a new Retro Rubber Challenge! We are all about the birthdays for this challenge and if you are like me, you never have a birthday card handy!

  RRCB 56

I started by stamping these layered flowers in pool party and Bermuda bay. Then I added a few crushed curry and delightful Dijon sprinkles. The flower images are from Rubbernecker that I have had at least 3 or 4 years and my sentiment stamp is one I have had since 2014. rrcb 56 1 (546x640)
After I added the sentiment, I ran the card front thru the linen impression plate and then die cut using a stitched rectangle. I decided the pattern paper needed a bit more flair and die cut it using a mini scalloped rectangle. I layered everything together and added the final touches of dots and rhinestones. rrcb 56 2 (640x467)

Be sure to play along with us and link up your birthday card HERE!

I have managed to get the crud or it’s gotten me so this will be my only post for the week. Blech. Thanks for stopping by today! See you next week!
