Retro Rubber Challenge 82...

Welcome to our new challenge at Retro Rubber!  For the first time ever, we are doing a tic tac toe challenge where you use three elements either across, down or diagonally.

RRCB 82

I opted for green, die cut and twine.  All lovely elements.  I was going to make a St. Patrick’s Day card but I don’t have a clover leaf die.  Also, it’s hard to feel too happy about clover leafs (or anything springy – lol) when we still have 3-4 feet of snow on the ground.

So I switched it up and made a birthday card.  I started with several leaf die cuts that I stacked together.  They have a bit of coppery/gold on the edges as this is a die that I ruined with some paint and the remaining paint clings to my cardstock.  It did add a bit of shimmer.

I added the twine and adhered to the card front that I ran thru the linen impression plate.  I added the sentiment (from my 2016 Clearly Besotted Message Me stamp set) and layered the card front on the card base.

March House Of Cards...

March is coming in like a lion around here and it’s also a new challenge at House of Cards.  The challenge is to use colored pencils on dark cardstock and/or the colors in the challenge image.

March Colored Pencils on dark card colors

As usual, I did a bit of both.  I stamped the image in crumbcake ink on crumbcake cardstock and then colored with my pencils.

I added a popped up sentiment and some pearls to finish off the card.

Brrrr...

Welcome to a new As You See It Challenge!  Since we are just about to the New Year, our theme is sparkle!  And what could be more sparkly than glitter?  Glitter…the gift that keeps on giving!

#166 12.29.17

I started by using some Bermuda Bay glitter paper and die cutting a hat. And now I officially have glitter everywhere on my table!

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 166 1 (563x640)

I die cut a scalloped panel and ran it and the card base thru my linen impression plate.  I added the sentiment and then attached the glitter hat.  A cute white fuzzy ball added some dimension and kept the die cut from looking like a mailbox – lol!

I popped the panel up on the card base and was done!  Be sure to join us!  Link up your sparkles HERE!

Retro Rubber Challenge #56...

It’s time for a new Retro Rubber Challenge! We are all about the birthdays for this challenge and if you are like me, you never have a birthday card handy!

  RRCB 56

I started by stamping these layered flowers in pool party and Bermuda bay. Then I added a few crushed curry and delightful Dijon sprinkles. The flower images are from Rubbernecker that I have had at least 3 or 4 years and my sentiment stamp is one I have had since 2014.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 56 1 (546x640)
After I added the sentiment, I ran the card front thru the linen impression plate and then die cut using a stitched rectangle. I decided the pattern paper needed a bit more flair and die cut it using a mini scalloped rectangle. I layered everything together and added the final touches of dots and rhinestones.

Watercolored Avant Garden...

Happy Monday! Today’s card was made for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and I had some fun playing with a new stamp set.

I used images from the SU! Avant Garden stamp set and did a bit of watercoloring. First I stamped the flowers with a combination of so saffron and peekaboo peach for the lower flower and peekaboo peach and calypso coral for the upper flower. I used old olive for the stems and leaves.

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 1 (558x640)

I stamped the images on watercolor paper and then used a small paintbrush and some water and squished the ink around to get a watercolor look. A bit of marina mist was used around the flowers although that is hard to see.

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 2 (640x444)

I did some random ink spatters across the flowers and then added some pattern paper as per the sketch. A sentiment and some enamel dots finished off the card. Give this method of watercoloring a try. It’s easy and makes you feel like you are an artist who freehanded these images!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: Watercolor paper. SU! crumbcake and cupcakes and carousels dsp. Stamps: SU! avant garden. Inks: SU! so saffron, peekaboo peach, calypso coral, old olive and marina mist. Memento black. Other: SU! enamel dots.

Joy Of The Journey...

Happy Thursday! I used a sentiment that I was given last year for my birthday.  The sentiment is beautiful – it truly expresses how I feel about my best friends. So I opted to let it shine on its own.

Www.seejanestamp.com 1117 1 (558x640)

Then I did a bit (OK a lot!!) of splattering with some of my favorite colors and finished off with a few enamel dots.
