Retro Rubber Challenge 101...

It’s a new challenge and the last one for the year for Retro Rubber!  As it is the holiday season, we have a fun photo inspiration for you to try!

RRCB 101

I started with a sweet snowman family stamp from Anita’s Stamps from 2002.  I used my SU! markers to color the images and then added a bit of chalk in the background.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 101 1 (640x527)

I stamped the sentiment (Clearly Besotted Message Me 2016) and then die cut with my pierced rectangles.  I layered a couple of pierced rectangles and then adhered on top of a couple of other rectangles.  Everything was run thru the trusty linen impression plate.

Retro Rubber Challenge 96...

It’s a new challenge at Retro Rubber with a fun sketch by Claire Grantham!

RRCB 96

I love a great sketch so I went to town with a Christmas card.  Using pattern paper and cardstock I created the bulk of the sketch.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 96 1 (640x563)

I die cut three threes and a circle and then arranged according to the sketch.  That was when I realized I forgot about the sentiment!  So I went for it and just stamped on the patterned paper.  The sentiment is from my trusty 2016 Clearly Besotted Message Me set.

The Basics For AYSI...

We have a fun new challenge at As You See It!  This challenge is called back to basics – and it is what it says – paper, ink, and stamps.  That’s it!

#184 9.7.18

I love a great clean and simple card.  In my first holiday card of the season, I used green, red and black inks.  Can’t get any more clean and simple than that!

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 184 1 (595x640)

I stamped the images in the bottom corner to leave all that lovely white space!  On which I would normally use my linen impression plate – but not today!

Christmas Leaves For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It and it’s a gorgeous sketch!

#165 12.15.17

I opted to use autumn leaves but in a Christmas style twist.  I used the Concord & 9th layering leaves and die cut them in mossy meadow, cherry cobbler, and old olive.  I die cut each one three times for added dimension and then adhered them together.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 165 1 (555x640)

I used some nice wintery paper and cut a couple of rectangles.  I layered everything together and finished off the card with a sweet sentiment and some dots and rhinestones.  I am quite tickled with how this card turned out!

Retro Rubber Challenge #77...

Welcome to the last Retro Rubber Challenge of 2017!  It’s a color inspiration challenge just in time for the holiday season.

RRCB 77

I went with clean and simple and opted to use the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 77 1 (640x483)

I stamped the tree from the PTI Layered Postmarks: Holiday (from 2012) in spring moss with the script in ripe avocado.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 77 2 (640x594)

I added the sentiment and then ran the card thru the linen impression plate.  I actually set out to make a layered card with an old truck and some trees.  That ended up in the garbage.  Sometimes the card in my mind is not what it is in reality!  LOL!

Retro AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  Join us for this fun color challenge!

#164 12.1.17

I started with a couple of brush trees in pool party and flirty flamingo.  These colors gave me a retro vibe so I had to add a few fifties style stars to make that retro look happen!

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 164 1 (537x640)

I added the sentiment in pacific point and a few rhinestones and enamel dots.  A CAS card that would be easy to reproduce for all of your favorite friends and family!

I started by using this fun digi tree from one of our sponsors - Digistamps4Joy.  I focused on the gorgeous silver and gold in the inspiration photo.  So using my colored pencils, I made a gold and silver tree with a touch of red and yellow.

Www.seejanestamp.com HOC Dec 1 (485x640)

I fussy cut the image and then popped it up on silver paper and added the sentiment.  Then, because I couldn't resist, I chose gold as my card base.  All sorts of shimmery paper!

Retro Rubber Challenge #76...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s Anything Goes!

RRCB 76

I opted to go with a Christmas theme and dug out this cute nutcracker stamp from Simon Says Stamp’s Retro Christmas (2015).  I colored him in with colored pencils and then die cut the image.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 76 1 (501x640)

I added the sentiment (I do like to do sideways sentiments) and a bit of twine and a few dots.  A strip of striped paper backed with some old olive was the final touch before I layered everything on an early espresso card base.
