It’s a fun new challenge at As You See It!  This challenge is fill in the blank!  What brings you holiday joy?  For me, although there are many things, my answer is snow!

I stamped a variety of snowflakes in different blues and then ran my card thru my linen plate.

I added this fun sentiment!  I love snow, glitter not so much but I do love nature’s glitter!

Finally, I added a few stars and was done!

It’s our last challenge for 2019 at Retro Rubber!  It’s a color challenge to use red, white and green!

I started with a die cut of some appropriately colored pattern paper.  Then I stamped my brush tree and die cut.  The tree is from the PTI Joyful Christmas stamp set from 2015.

I stamped the sentiment and then punched using my washi tape punch.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Message Me from 2016.

I layered everything up and added a bit of bling!

A fun new challenge starts at As You See It.  It is theme week and we must showcase trees!

I started with a pear pizzazz brushstroke before adding a couple of scrub brush trees.

The trees were stamped in sweet sugarplum and pink pirouette.  I love using pinks and greens for my holiday cards.  I popped up the trees and added the sentiment.

It’s time for a new Retro Rubber Challenge and it’s anything goes!  Yay!

I was in a bit of a holiday mood so I went clean and simple.  I die cut a couple of pine boughs and arranged them on the card with an enamel dot for a berry.

I stamped the sentiment from my PTI Christmas critters sentiments from 2016 and added some texture with my linen plate.

It’s a new challenge at As You See It and it is a fill in the blank.  (that I got to create!)  My go to die or punch that I use most often is the linen impression plate.  But I think you all could have guessed that!  I love it because it adds a smidge of texture and makes the card feel a little more upscale.

I did a one layer card so I could show off the linen plate.  I added snowflakes and circles in soft colors and then ran the card thru the linen plate.  Even though it is hard to see!

I stamped the sentiment, die cut it, and popped it up on the card.

It's always a bit difficult to see the texture from the linen plate so here is a picture of what it looks like.

We have a fun new challenge at As You See It!  And it’s one that I created – we have a recipe challenge for you.  Use the following on your card:  die cut, red, stars, ribbon and make it a Christmas card.

I wiped out three of those requirements in one move – a red star die cut.

Then I added a bit of silver ribbon and a holiday sentiment and was done!  I used my spray adhesive to adhere the star to the card front and it looks a little cobwebby.  LOL.

It’s a new challenge at Retro Rubber!  We are partnering with the Double Trouble Challenge.  Yay!

Our theme is Christmas in July so all you have to do for our challenge is to make a Christmas card using at least one stamp older than a year.

The Double Trouble challenge requirements are:

• Thing 1 – Double Trouble:  Make a square card, scrapbook page, gift box or use squares on your project.
• Thing 2 – Double Dare:  Use a rubber or acrylic stamp older than one year.
• Thing 3 – Twisted Sister:  If you create a beach scene with Santa you can earn an extra chance to be in Double Trouble’s random draw.

I stamped a branch and pinecones from my Papertrey Ink peaceful pinecones stamp set that I have had since 2012.

Then I diecut a square around my image and backed it with a garden green scalloped square.  I popped the image up on the card base and added the sentiment around the square.  A few pearls finished it off!

It’s a new challenge and the last one for the year for Retro Rubber!  As it is the holiday season, we have a fun photo inspiration for you to try!

I started with a sweet snowman family stamp from Anita’s Stamps from 2002.  I used my SU! markers to color the images and then added a bit of chalk in the background.

I stamped the sentiment (Clearly Besotted Message Me 2016) and then die cut with my pierced rectangles.  I layered a couple of pierced rectangles and then adhered on top of a couple of other rectangles.  Everything was run thru the trusty linen impression plate.

I started by die cutting several wreath branches in different greens and adhered together.

I added a paper ribbon and then attached small buttons and pearls around it.  Finally I added the sentiment!

It’s a new challenge at Retro Rubber with a fun sketch by Claire Grantham!

I love a great sketch so I went to town with a Christmas card.  Using pattern paper and cardstock I created the bulk of the sketch.

I die cut three threes and a circle and then arranged according to the sketch.  That was when I realized I forgot about the sentiment!  So I went for it and just stamped on the patterned paper.  The sentiment is from my trusty 2016 Clearly Besotted Message Me set.
