Welcome to a new challenge at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog! This time we have an Easter theme which can mean bunnies, eggs, candy, flowers, etc – anything Easter!

I opted to do a simple bouquet of tulips. Instead of using my standard black to stamp the image, I grabbed my sahara sand and was so pleased with the softness of the image. Note to self: use sahara sand more often!
I used the colors from the Fab Friday challenge of blushing bride, mint macaron, and pool party. I originally colored the image with markers but I didn’t care for the result. So I tried a different option – I used a qtip and ran it across the ink pad before coloring the image. By doing that, it created a softer image, similar to what you would get when you use chalk. To add some background, I added a bit of pool party around the image.

This stamp came out in 2014 and I have used it a couple of times. I added the sentiment (which came out this year) and was done. A lovely single layer card that will be winging its way to my Aunt and Uncle for Easter. Funny thing – I didn’t realize until the card was done that I had used one old stamp and one new. But that is perfectly fine for the Retro Rubber challenge! You need one older stamp to qualify!

Now it’s your turn – whip up some sort of lovely Easter confection and link it up HERE to play along!
