Embellishment Challenge

Retro Rubber Challenge 139...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  We have an embellishment challenge to use buttons!

RRCB 139

I decided to make a tag.  I broke out my SU! French foliage stamps from around 2010 or so and inked them up in different colors.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 139 1 (526x640)

My tag was already die cut from a project I started to make years ago so I don’t remember what the name of the die is.  I added the sentiment (Clearly Besotted message me 2016), the ribbon and the buttons and was done.

Retro Rubber Challenge 112...

It’s a new challenge at Retro Rubber!  We have an embellishment challenge for you to use buttons or bows or both on your card!

RRCB 112

I opted to showcase one sweet button!  I started by stamping the image from the SU! On The Grow stamp set (circa 2011) and used chalks to color in the flowers.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 112 1 (571x640)

I layered the image up on several pattern papers and then added the sentiment and the button and ribbon.

AYSI For The Birds...

It’s time for a new As You See It Challenge!  This challenge requires you to use five items on your card – stripes, circles, dark blue, brads and birds.  Now, this is harder than you imagine and the card I am posting today is my second attempt.  The first card will not see the light of day!  LOL!

#159 9.22.17

I started by stamping a circle in daffodil delight and some stripes in pink pirouette.  I added a die cut bird out of night of navy and then a sentiment followed by a night of navy brad.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 159 1 (569x640)

I used my mini stitched scallop rectangle to die cut and then popped it up on a night of navy base.  My first attempt included a bird cage, birds and a lot of stripes.  It was awful!  I am happier with this card and already have plans to send it to someone who could use a pick me up.

I started by running some watercolor paper thru my sheet music impression plate and then adding a few colors for a rainbow effect.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 61 3 (563x640)

Then I punched some bitty butterflies in other rainbow colors and adhered them to the watercolor paper to give the full effect of a rainbow.

Retro Rubber Challenge #61...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge! Just use buttons on your card and a stamp older than a year and you are good to go!

RRCB 61

I started with my PTI Fancy Footworks stamp set from 2013. This was a stamp set that I had to have when it came out because I loved the dance steps.  So I stamped the “her” steps in harvest gold and the “his” steps in blueberry sky. I ran the card front and the card base thru the linen impression plate as well.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 61 1 (552x640)

I stamped the sentiment and cut out using my washi tape die. I also die cut a couple more washi tapes in yellow and blue so I could layer them up.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 61 2 (640x425)

I layered the front over some crushed curry and then put everything together on a base of midnight muse. Be sure to play along with us and link up HERE!

I am entering this card in the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge.

A huge thank you to Nance at Paper Players for selecting THIS card as A Cut Above!

On a personal note, my life outside of card making (not that we like to admit we have one *wink*) has gotten a bit more hectic than I expected so I am rolling back the number of posts that I typically do each week. I hope to post 2-3 times a week but it may be down to once a week for a while. Thank you for understanding!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

A Cameo For Brown Sugar...

Welcome to a new challenge at the Brown Sugar Challenge. Our challenge this week is to use rhinestones and/or ribbon.

Www.seejanestamp.com bsc 1 (532x640)

I started with this sweet image that I colored up with my pencils. I die cut it into an oval and backed it with an oval scallop.  Which reminded me of a cameo.

Www.seejanestamp.com bsc 2 (640x551)

I used some vintage looking papers and then added a piece of lace with solid cardstock to layer over the papers.

Retro Rubber Challenge #48 part two...

Welcome to the second week of the Retro Rubber Challenge! The challenge is to use twine, ribbon, or lace.

RRCB 48

I decided to use a few shades of twine and coordinate some lightly stamped snowflakes both behind the twine and on the stitched circle.

I added the sentiment and put the card together. There’s plenty of time to play along so link up your card HERE!

Retro Rubber Challenge #48...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge! This challenge is an embellishment challenge and embraces the use of ribbon, lace or twine on your card. That’s it! Yep, bust out your old stamps, throw on some ribbon, lace or twine and you are all set!

RRCB 48

I started by going with a bit of a retro theme! I die cut several retro shapes out of some “retro” (retired SU! paper) and some fresh new pattern paper. I layered the pieces a bit randomly, adhered to the card base and then stamped the sentiment. The sentiment was part of the PTI stamp a faire challenge from 2014.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 48 1 (530x640)

My final step was to staple the grey shape to some lost lagoon ribbon and adhere to the rest of the shapes. I say this because I figured out pretty quickly that the ribbon interfered with getting a good image of the sentiment. Good thing I have lots of white cardstock! LOL!
