Embellishment Challenge

Thanks For The August House Of Cards...

Welcome to a new challenge at the House of Cards! This month our challenge is to have you use twine and/or these lovely colors on a card for us!

August 2016 Twine and or colors

It took some doing but I came up with a card I liked that incorporated both the colors and the twine. I started by stamping the large flower in sweet blush with autumn rose accents and the smaller flower (which you can’t see very well due to the sentiment) in autumn rose with sweet blush accents. I added the centers in bright yellow.

To create my card, I die cut this dotted circle around the flowers then added the sentiment. For the sentiment, I stamped on white and used the washi label punch to create. I added a bit of twine because I was just feeling that it went well with the images and colors.

I put everything together using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

Retro Rubber Challenge #42 part two...

Welcome to the second week of the Retro Rubber Challenge to use brads and/or eyelets! I am playing along again this time with a sketch from Sunday Stamps.

I die cut the tag after adding a bit of washi tape at the bottom. Then I stamped the sentiment and added the butterflies.

I ran the tag thru the linen impression plate and added the eyelet and twine. I die cut a stitched rectangle out of vintage cream linen cardstock and adhered to the card base.

Retro Rubber Challenge #42...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge! We have an embellishment challenge for you this time so break out your brads and eyelets and put them on a card!

RRCB 42

I made a birthday card to give to a dear friend of mine who is older than me as I LOVE to remind her! To incorporate both brads and eyelets (you only need to use one or the other but I am an overachiever!), I made a “picture” to hang on the card.

I stamped a bitty flower and the sentiment (both stamps I have had over a year – more like about two I would guess) and then die cut using the stitched mini scallop die.

Then I added some pink eyelets and thread and “hung” on a brad. I think she will like it!
