Vellum Does It...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s a fill in the blank!  My favorite thing to do with vellum is emboss!

#310 10.20.23

I rarely use vellum, but when I do, I like to emboss it.  And then I wonder, why don’t I do this more often?  I started by stamping my image and coloring with alcohol markers.  I die cut the image and a piece of vellum to go over the top.

I embossed the sentiment and then popped the whole thing over some gold thread and added some colored rhinestones.  What is your favorite way to use vellum?

Retro Rubber Challenge 217...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s anything goes!

RRCB 217

I am definitely feeling the fall vibes.  I broke out a stamp set that I have owned since it came out in 2021 but never used – Stampin’ Up Gorgeous Leaves.  The leaves really are gorgeous so I stamped them on a crumbcake background that I stamped off once before applying to the card front.

I added the sentiment from Papertrey Ink Keep It Simple Blessed (2017) at an angle and then die cut, added some dots and twine and adhered to the card base.  Easy fall fun!

Sunflower Crates For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s a fun sketch challenge!

#308 9.22.23

I started by stamping and die cutting these great images from the Stampin’ Up! Rustic Crate.  This was a must have for me when the set came out.  I colored the flowers and produce with my alcohol markers and stamped the crate.

I added some plaid dsp on white and then die cut to provide the background for my crate image.  I also cut down a piece of corresponding dsp and backed it with black before layering everything on the card.  My final step was the sentiment which was a perfect fit over the crate.

I added a piece of dsp and garden green trim to the vanilla card front and then die cut using a stitched rectangle.

I adhered to the card base and was planning to add some bling until I checked the time.  I had about 5 seconds left so I didn’t bother!  Time was 9 minutes and 55 seconds.

SAF Gilded In Gold...

Danielle Flanders challenged us to use gold leaf on a project. So I did. And promptly ruined two dies. I am sick. Too bad I didn’t follow the directions!

So here is what you are supposed to – die cut and then gold leaf the cut out. I thought I would save some time and gold leaf the chipboard and then die cut. Hello ruined dies. Cripes! I did have to giggle at my stupidity!

Www.seejanestamp.com saf gold 1 (542x640)

So I die cut the leaf out of gold adhesive paper and stuck to the card after adding the sentiment. So I cheated a little – but I was pretty sick over the dies and didn’t feel like dealing with the gold leaf again! Lesson learned – oh and the fact that I will be reordering the leaf silhouette dies.

On a bright note – I followed the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge for the card.

Onward and upward! Next – that don’t impress me much and yet it does! LOL!

House of Cards Color or Texture Challenge...

Today starts the new monthly challenge for the House of Cards!  This challenge is about using these beautiful fall colors or adding some texture to your card or both!  I opted to use both!

I started by using a piece of SU! early espresso core’dinations cardstock that I ran through the woodgrain embossing folder.  The beauty of the core’dinations cardstock is that it is sandable.  So I sanded the ridges of the woodgrain a bit.

Www.seejanestamp.com oct HOC 1 (531x640)

I die cut six tags out of varying cardstock that was inspired by the colors in the challenge image.  I ran each of these tags thru a sweater impression plate to add a bit of texture there as well.  I stacked them together with just a bit of each color sticking out.

Www.seejanestamp.com oct HOC 2 (633x640)

I stamped the pumpkins and sentiment on the top tag and added some chunky orange jute to the tag. That's it!
