Get Well

Retro Rubber Challenge #30...

It’s time for a new Retro Rubber Challenge! It feels like forever since we have had one and it has only been a month! And it’s a sketch! Yay!

RRCB 30

We have a couple of rule changes – you must state in your blog post the age of your stamp and you can link up to no more than 10 challenges. Pretty minor changes really more like clarifications!

Today’s card is made with a stamp that I love and rarely use. I love dandelions – the stamps only! I hate the real thing – other than when I was a kid and it was fun to blow the seeds everywhere. Like all kids everywhere. And like all parents everywhere – they hated when I did that. I can appreciate that sentiment now!

Anyway, I bought this stamp in 2008 (I had to google the date the stamp came out!) and have used it a few times. But when SU! came out with some paper that had dandelions on it, I knew I was going to have to have that paper!

I stamped the dandelions and sentiment according to the sketch and added some rainstones. I love this card! Fairly clean and simple – and could be massed produced easily to have a supply of get well cards on hand!

Now it’s your turn! Link up your sketchy creations HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: SU! crushed curry, white, basic black, and wildflower fields dsp. Stamps: Great Impressions dandelions and dandelions sentiment. Inks: SU! crushed curry. Memento black. Other: PTI linen impression plate and rainstones.

Sheltering...

Happy Friday everyone!  I am really glad it is Friday, it has been a long week!  Today I am using the SU! stamp set of sheltering tree.  I think this is really a gorgeous set and one that is so versatile.  Surprisingly this is the first time I am using the stamps.  I wanted to create a serene get well card that could be used for either gender.

I started off with soft sky and early espresso cardstock.  Unfortunately, this card did not photo as well as it shows in real life.  Argh!  I took pictures from every angle and still couldn’t get a photo!

I stamped the tree trunk in early espresso and the leaves in versamark that I white embossed.  The sentiment is from PTI and white embossed as well.  I used my SSS sketchy banner to spotlight the sentiment.

I am entering this card in the Card Concept challenge which was to make a get well card.  I would consider this a clean and layered card.  One that I really like!

I am excited to report that THIS card was named the winner in this week’s The Friday Mashup challenge!  I had fun coming up with this card and I am glad they enjoyed it too!  Thank you ladies – you have a fun challenge blog to play along with!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I may be popping in over the weekend with a couple of posts – depending on what I can get done!  Otherwise I will be back on Monday!  By then we will know if March came in like a lion or a lamb!

Supplies:  CS:  SU! soft sky and early espresso.  Stamps:  SU! sheltering tree.  PTI inside and out well wishes.  Dies:  PTI linen impression plate.  SSS sketchy banner.  Other:  white embossing powder, rhinestone.
