Hello

Poppies For AYSI...

It’s time for a new As You See It challenge.  This is a fill in the blank challenge.

#194 2.15.19

When I think simple, I think clean and simple.  I love a one layer card so I started with this lovely poppy image that I used my chalks on and then decided to add one small layer with my sentiment.

Confetti Rainbows For AYSI...

We have a new challenge at As You See It!  This challenge is to use every item in the challenge image on your card.  I find these challenges the hardest of all!  And I was quite stumped until I came up with this card.

#171 3.9.18

I started with a double layer of black cardstock for the wide/stripe element.  Then I die cut the word hello three times and adhered together for the one word.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 171 1 (568x640)

That left me with confetti, rainbow and stars.  I tried several different things until I finally remembered my SU! enamel dots and stars.  Presto magic – I have confetti of rainbow colored stars.  Whew!  I made it and kept it clean and simple to boot!

A Dotty Hello...

Happy Monday! I have a fun CAS card for you today that I made for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

I started by using a dotted line die to cut the circles in the card stock. Then I added the sentiment.

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 1 (538x640)

I stamped the flower using a bit of the rock n roll technique to get two colors of ink on the stamp to give the image a bit of dimension. Then I stamped away.

Www.seejanestamp.com fms 2 (640x610)

A smart person would have stamped first and die cut second but I was originally going to die cut the flower and pop it up instead of making a one layer card. But I quite liked what I ended up with so was pleased that I didn’t follow my original plan.

That’s it for today! Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI white. Stamps: PTI Bitty Bouquets. W+9 Strictly Sentiments 2. Dies: PTI linen impression plate. MFT blueprints 14. Inks: PTI spring moss, ripe avocado, bright buttercup and summer sunrise. Memento black.

Retro Rubber Challenge #45...

Welcome to a new challenge at Retro Rubber! For this challenge we have a sketch that was created by DT member Claire Grantham. It’s a fun one and based on all of the design team inspiration – you can do a lot with it!

RRCB 45

I stuck pretty close to the original. I dug out my retired SU! French foliage stamp set. It’s one of my favorites and I have had it 5 years or more. I stamped random images in wisteria wonder, lucky limeade and lost lagoon before die cutting using my stitched arch dies.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 45 1 (640x553)

I added a piece of pattern paper on my card base and then ran it thru the linen impression plate. I stamped the sentiment (from a set I have had about 3 years) and then punched it out using my SU! washi label punch. I put everything together according to the sketch and added a few enamel dots and rhinestones in place of the star on the sketch.

Aloha...

Happy Thursday! Can I make a pineapple relate to the Olympics? Why, yes, yes I can! Pineapples remind me of the costume that Carmen Miranda used to wear. She was an actress and singer who was very popular in Brazil and America. See? Brazil = Olympics. Mission accomplished – LOL!

Seriously, I recently bought this fun pineapple stamp and thought I would see what I could do with it. This card actually started out following a recent Freshly Made Sketches challenge but I felt like I veered off the challenge too much to enter it. So you get to see it today!

Www.seejanestamp.com aloha 1 (542x640)

I started by stamping the pineapple in yellow and then adding some orangey markings. I did a two tone top to it and then die cut around it with a stitching circle. I used some yellow twine to stitch around the circle and then backed the circle with some cork.

Www.seejanestamp.com aloha 2 (640x408)

I added the sentiment (which I know is Hawaiian and not Brazilian – LOL) and then attached to the card base.

That’s it for today! Thanks for stopping by and be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: PTI white and cork. Stamps: PTI some like it hot. SU! back to basics alphabet. Inks: Memento black. PTI summer sunrise, bright buttercup, ripe avocado and spring moss. Other: PTI stitched circles. Twine.

A Flamingo Hello...

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

SAF Impressionism...

So our next challenge was impressionism. And I will say that the results are beautiful! But man, did it take some time to do. When I finished, I wasn’t so sure that I would ever want to do this again but overall I am very pleased.

Www.seejanestamp.com saf impressionism 1 (554x640)

This technique is very long so I would suggest watching the video that Melissa Phillips did to give it a try yourself. My one suggestion is to use watercolor paper for both the card front and the card base. She says you can use cardstock for both parts but I didn’t find that worked too well and had to start over on the flowers. And then when I did used cardstock for the base, it warped because of the water.

Next up – get your green jacket cause we are going to the Masters!

Hello For The AYSI...

Welcome to a new As You See It Challenge! We have a fun sketch for you today!

#139 Jul 15 16

I started with my sunburst stamp set and randomly stamped the images in a variety of colors. Then I ran the cardstock thru the linen plate and cropped two of the corners.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 139 1 (548x640)

I die cut “hello” out of crumbcake 3 times and then one time out of some patterned vellum. I stacked them all up with the vellum on top. I thought the pattern kind of mimicked my sunburst stamps.  I added some thread and layered everything together with some candy dots for the finishing touches.

Retro Rubber Challenge #42 part two...

Welcome to the second week of the Retro Rubber Challenge to use brads and/or eyelets! I am playing along again this time with a sketch from Sunday Stamps.

RRCB 42

I die cut the tag after adding a bit of washi tape at the bottom. Then I stamped the sentiment and added the butterflies.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 42 ss 1 (540x640)

I ran the tag thru the linen impression plate and added the eyelet and twine. I die cut a stitched rectangle out of vintage cream linen cardstock and adhered to the card base.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 42 ss 2 (640x556)
