Inspiration Challenge

Retro Rubber Challenge 221...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s an inspiration challenge to let the image inspire your card.

RRCB 221

I started by running some white cardstock through my merry melody impression folder and then die cutting into a stitched rectangle.  I also die cut two boughs, intertwined them and adhered to the card front.

I die cut silver bells, popped up on the boughs and then added the sentiment.  The sentiment is from Lil Inkers No Peeking from at least 10 years ago because I have had it that long!  I die cut around the sentiment and added some twine.  I finished off with some red rhinestones.

Retro Rubber Challenge 215...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s an inspiration challenge to make a card using fall related stamps and/or papers.

RRCB 215

I started out by stenciling a large maple leaf in crushed curry and die cut using my deckled rectangles.  Then I die cut a smaller maple leaf that I had embossed with some wood grain and two tiny leaves.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 215 1

I stamped the sentiment from Papertrey Ink’s Autumn Hills set from 2012 on a die cut ship lap.  Then I layered everything together, added some speckled dots and was done!

RRCB 198

I went super clean and did a wintery scene from my Papertrey Ink Winter Hills stamp set from 2012.  I did a tone on tone with soft greys.

A Snowman In Winter...

I have not played along with any challenges in I don’t know how long but mojo struck so I thought I would give it a try!  I am playing along with the sketch from The Paper Players and the colors from The Card Concept.  It’s a clean and layered card and I am quite pleased with the results.

I started with stamping the fence in Sahara sand and soft suede directly on the card base.  I stamped the snowman in London fog and added the hat, arms, and face before die cutting it.

I stamped, cut and then added the bits of garland and a couple of birds to the fence before adding the snowdrift and snowman.  The sentiment is contrary to a snowman’s wishes – he would want cold blessings!

This card really came together for both challenges – the sketch showcases the colors and wintery inspiration for the card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Retro Rubber Challenge 173...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s a Christmas inspiration challenge and is our last one for this year.

RRCB 173

I started with a card base of soft suede that I attached some woodgrain pattern paper to.  I die cut a couple of tags and added some scraps to the top tag after I stamped the sentiment.  Sorry for the shine on the bottom of the tag...I couldn't get a picture that didn't have it!

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 173 1

The sentiment comes from my Papertrey Ink Cozy Christmas set from 2016.  I tied some twine to the tags, adhered to the card base and was done.

Retro Rubber Challenge 166...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s time for an inspiration challenge so here is my take.

RRCB 166

I was inspired to use the colors and make a mini bouquet.  I used my stamps from Papertrey Ink Bitty Bouquet from 2015.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 166 1

I die cut a lattice out of grayish polka dot paper for the background (using the tabletop in the picture for that inspiration).  I used rustic white for my card base and for the little square I popped my flowers up on.  A small sentiment, thread and some bling and I was done.

Retro Rubber Challenge 161...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  Get inspired by the picture – colors or images.

RRCB 161

I focused on the delicious looking purple ice cream firmly believing it has to be huckleberry ice cream.  That stuff is good!

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 161 1

I stamped the popsicle image from Reverse Confetti’s Let’s Chill stamp set from 2015.  I colored with my purple blends – making some wavy lines and stripes.  I added the sentiment and was done.

Retro Rubber Challenge 149...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge.  This is a Christmas challenge to be inspired by the photo.

RRCB 149

I started by die cutting this set of candles in white.  I knew I was going to use cherry cobbler as my base so I knew it would be striking!

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 149 1 (640x539)

I added some black and white plaid before attaching the die cut.  Finally, I added the sentiment from my Papertrey Ink Keep It Simple Joyeux Noel stamp set from 2017.  A few stars and I was done.

Retro Rubber Challenge 84...

It’s a new challenge at Retro Rubber!  We have an inspiration challenge to use either the color or items from the image on a card.

RRCB 84

I trotted out my trusty umbrella die and whipped up three umbrellas using the inspiration colors.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 84 1 (540x640)

I added the sentiment from the SU! weather together stamp set from 2016.  I love the font and the saying so much.  And yet, it’s the first time I have used the saying!  Shame on me!

I adhered everything to white and then to a crumbcake card base.
