Inspiration Challenge

Retro Rubber Challenge #79...

It’s a new challenge at Retro Rubber!  Use the beautiful picture for your inspiration and create a card.

RRCB 79

I opted to use the colors to inspire me.  I love the pink, gold and white combination.  So I started by die cutting this leaf pattern and backing it with gold paper.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 79 1 (528x640)

I added the sentiment and a few hearts before adhering to the card base.  My sentiment stamp is from the 2016 Clearly Besotted Message Me stamp set.

Retro Rubber Challenge #77...

Welcome to the last Retro Rubber Challenge of 2017!  It’s a color inspiration challenge just in time for the holiday season.

RRCB 77

I went with clean and simple and opted to use the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 77 1 (640x483)

I stamped the tree from the PTI Layered Postmarks: Holiday (from 2012) in spring moss with the script in ripe avocado.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 77 2 (640x594)

I added the sentiment and then ran the card thru the linen impression plate.  I actually set out to make a layered card with an old truck and some trees.  That ended up in the garbage.  Sometimes the card in my mind is not what it is in reality!  LOL!

I loved the checkered cloth so I decided to use that as my background by using a stencil and some red ink.

I stamped the chair image and then used my colored pencils.  This is from the SU! cherish friendship stamp set.  I have had this set since 2011.  I added the sentiment and ran the card thru the linen impression plate.

July House Of Cards...

Happy July!  It’s time for a new challenge at House of Cards!  All you need to do is use stripes and/or the colors in the image for your card.

July Stripes and or colors

I opted to use both stripes and colors in my card.  So I started by stamping and die cutting the daisy image.  Then I used a few colored pencils to add a bit more dimension to the flowers.

Www.seejanestamp.com HOC July 1 (536x640)

I love my washi tape die for sentiments so I used it for this one.  I die cut in white and crumbcake to make the sentiment pop a bit.

Www.seejanestamp.com HOC July 2 (640x423)

I cut a chunk of striped paper and backed it with crumbcake as well.  After adhering everything to the card base, I added a few pearls and was done.

Floral Blessings...

Today I am playing along with The Flower Challenge. Their challenge is to CASE a design team member. I opted to CASE Karren as I love her clean and simple style. Below is the challenge image and Karren’s card.

Stenciled Flower

Using a mixture of Altenew ocean waves and dusk inks, I stamped up this floral outline. Then I added a sentiment and ran thru the linen impression plate.

I dug out my diagonal scoring tool and scored some lines. This was my take on Karren’s stenciling. You can also see that I used her colors of blues and black on my image and sentiment.

I die cut the card front with a stitched rectangle and then popped it up on the card base. This was such a fun challenge to re-imagine a DT member! Great idea!!

Thanks for stopping by! I will be back next week!

Retro Rubber Challenge #61 part two...

Welcome back to the second week of the Retro Rubber Challenge. Just use buttons on your card plus a stamp older than a year!

RRCB 61

I started by running some watercolor paper thru my sheet music impression plate and then adding a few colors for a rainbow effect.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 61 3 (563x640)

Then I punched some bitty butterflies in other rainbow colors and adhered them to the watercolor paper to give the full effect of a rainbow.

Retro Rubber Challenge #57...

It’s time for a new Retro Rubber Challenge! We have a color inspiration for you to try!

RRCB 57

Due to a pinched nerve in my back that happened last Friday, I am on the injured reserve list and did not get a card done for the challenge. It also sidetracked me from getting any cards done so I am not sure when I will have my next post! Please hang in there with me!

In the meantime, click HERE to go to the Retro Rubber site and see the AMAZING design team creations! They are really outstanding! Plus we have a great guest designer in Lynne Jardine!

Have a great week! I hope to be well enough to get some cards done for next week but at this time it is all up in the air! February has been an interesting month for me – with the crud and now my back – good gravy!

Happy Crafting!

A Little Something...

Today’s card was made for the Fusion Challenge and I married a bit of both images together.

I cut down a white cardfront, ran it thru the linen impression plate and added a sentiment. A couple pieces of pattern paper were added to the cardfront and then I added a bit of twine before adhering to a soft sky base.

Www.seejanestamp.com fusion 1 (554x640)

I attached the mugs and was done! I used the sketch and some of the colors and mugs from the challenge image.

Retro Rubber Challenge #53 part two...

It’s the second week of the Retro Rubber Challenge so I whipped up a clean and simple card using colors inspired by the challenge.

RRCB 53

I die cut three hour glass dies in white, real red and garden green. All three colors had been run thru the linen impression plate first.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 53 3 (571x640)

I attached the white die to a crumbcake base and then added three red flags and three green flags. A sentiment finishes off the card.

Retro Rubber Challenge #53...

Welcome to a new Retro Rubber Challenge! This is our last one for 2016! I can’t believe the year is almost over! This challenge is a color inspiration based on the picture in the challenge image.

RRCB 53

I used a palette of cream and white with just a smidge of red and green thrown in. I started with some white texture paste and a snowfall stencil. I added the paste to the cream cardstock that I had run thru the linen impression plate and cut down a bit to go on the white card base.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 53 1 (575x640)

I stamped the sentiment (circa 2015) and then added a die cut set of holly leaves and berries on the edge. Finally, I popped the sentiment up over the card front. I love the simplicity of the card with all that neutral and small pop of color.
