Retro Thanks...

A quick CAS card for Friday! And a one layer card for the One Layer Simplicity challenge which wanted us to go retro! olc 1 (519x640)

I busted out my brand new retro thank you stamps and set to work. I stamped a few images in retro colors and then added the sentiment. olc 2 (640x428)

I ran the card thru the linen impression plate and added a few enamel dots and rhinestones to finish it off.

Wine For The Birthday Girl...

It’s Thursday already and here I am wondering where the week went! For once I am early and have a birthday card done for a friend of mine who will celebrate next week. She loves wine and so I had to make a wine inspired card. birthday 1 (540x640)

I started by stamping a wine opener in calypso coral and then die cutting. I also die cut a double stitched rectangle and adhered to the card base along with a stripe of pattern paper. birthday 2 (640x315)

I popped up the wine opener and added the sentiment. I am entering this card in the Inspired By All The Little Things and Fab Friday.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to stop in tomorrow!

Supplies: CS: SU! white and calypso coral. Pattern paper from stash. Stamps: SSS wine aerobics. PTI KIS birthday. Dies: PTI linen impression plate. SSS wine aerobics. MFT double stitched rectangles. Inks: SU! calypso coral. Memento black.

I have been seeing beautiful sunflowers all over town and that inspired me to dig out a sunflower stamp and see what I could do with it.  I heat embossed the image in black on watercolor paper. And using distress inks, watercolored the image. 9 (548x640)

I cut down the paper and backed it with a piece of crushed curry and then adhered to a kraft base. The sentiment was chosen based on its length as I planned to stamp it up the side of the image and wanted something that would balance well. 10 (640x477)

I am entering my card in the Inspired By All The Little Things challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today! I am taking Friday off as well as the weekend so I will see you back here on Monday!

Supplies: CS: PTI kraft. SU! crushed curry. Watercolor paper. Stamps: Clearly Besotted miniature florals 2. Neat & Tangled Scandinavian prints.

Cast Thy Anchor...

Hello there! I am continuing my sailing theme with a super clean and simple card. I will be entering this in The Curtain Call challenge as well.

I started by stamping five real red stripes and then adding the sentiment. I am using the sketch from the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge that closed yesterday. I knew I wouldn’t make the cut but I loved the sketch and wanted to see what I could create! cts cc 1 (553x640)

I ran the single layer card thru the linen impression plate and added some bling. cts cc 2 (640x414)

That’s it for me today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

Spring Daffodils...

Happy Monday! It feels forever since I have said that! I have missed my crafty time and blogging! I hope to be back on schedule with a post Monday thru Friday. Although as I write this, I only have Monday thru Wednesday covered!

Today’s card was made for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and pairs nicely with The Card Concept challenge of spring flowers!  And it ties in nicely with the Addicted to CAS challenge - code word plaid!

I started by stamping this wonderful daffodil flower and using chalks to color it in with a bit of chalk around the flower as well. My favorite spring flowers have to be daffodils, lilacs, and tulips! They look so happy! fms 1 (640x538)

I flipped the sketch a bit by putting my plaid paper and soft sky trim on the right side with the image and sentiment on the left. I ran the card front thru the linen impression plate and thru the scallop rectangle die before popping up on crumbcake. fms 2 (640x507)

There you have it, super clean and simple! Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow!

I would like to say a huge Thank You to Sandie at The Card Concept for selecting THIS card as a winner of their last challenge!

Supplies: CS: SU! white, soft sky, and crumbcake. Lawn Fawn plaid papers. Stamps: Clearly Besotted miniature florals. Inks: Memento black. Chalks. Dies: PTI linen impression plate. MFT blueprints 20.

House of Cards May Challenge...

Welcome to the new House of Cards challenge! This month we are asking you to use vellum or acetate on your cards. Fun!

5 HOC May 2016 supply challenge use clear papers - vellum or acetate

I started by stamping a variety of images on wild wasabi with versamark. Then I die cut the printed piece of vellum with a stitched fishtail die and layered on top of the card base. hoc may 1 (580x640)

I added this fun sticker sentiment and some candy dots and rhinestones to finish off the card. Easy peasy! hoc may 2 (640x438)

It’s your turn! Be sure to play along with this challenge! You have the month of May to do so! Link up your card HERE!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a Happy May Day everyone! I just adore May Day and loved making May baskets! It was so much fun to run around the neighborhood and deliver them! If you are someone who used to do this tradition – yay! If you aren’t – give it a try! Getting a May Day basket will make someone’s day!

Retro Rubber Challenge #36 part two...

Welcome to the second week of the Retro Rubber Challenge – it’s raining! I whipped up today’s card using the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch and the colors inspired by the Card Concept challenge.

I die cut this fun rainbow in very nontraditional colors – watermelon wonder, blushing bride and cucumber crush. I heat embossed the sentiment on vellum and then added the rainbow and a couple of clouds. rrcb 36 3 (562x640)

I added the blue striped paper which I thought was perfect for water or sky and then layered everything on vanilla linen paper. I really loved the colors in the Card Concept inspiration photo and thought what I put together worked. rrcb 36 4 (640x475)

Don’t forget to play along with the Retro Rubber Challenge – just add water! Link up HERE!

Thanks for stopping in today! I will be back on Friday with a new As You See It challenge!

Supplies: CS: PTI vanilla cream linen, spring rain stripes and white. SU! blushing bride, watermelon wonder, cucumber crush and vellum. Stamps: MFT cheerful blessing. Dies: SSS stitched rectangles. Lil Inkers rainbows and clouds. PTI linen impression plate. Other: Black embossing powder.

Give Thanks...

Happy Monday! Today’s card was made for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and for the Card Concept (clean and layered) inspiration challenge. fms cc 1 (640x529)

I started by stamping off the palm frond twice before stamping on the card front. Then I added the sentiment in full strength ink. I added a piece of black on one side and the pattern paper on the other. fms cc 2 (640x327)

I ran everything thru the linen impression plate (natch!) and layered everything on the card base. At the last minute I remembered I needed something in the upper right side so I added the candy dots.

I had just finished the first run of this card when I discovered red ink on my hand that I had smeared all over the card! So I did a quick redo and that is what you see here.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to pop in tomorrow for a new Retro Rubber Challenge!

Supplies: SU! very vanilla, basic black and modern medley dsp. Inks: Memento black. Stamps: SU! awesomely artistic. Verve scripture medley 3. Dies: PTI linen impression plate.
