Pals Blog Hop

April Pals Blog Hop...

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for April where every day is Earth Day.  This month we are showcasing projects that use recycled, reused or other earth inspired elements and colors.  We hope you enjoy the Pals creative projects.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Beth McCullough at Stamping Mom, number 15 on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

Hello all!  I love the idea behind this hop even though I struggled a bit deciding what I was going to make!  In the end, I opted to recycle the pages of a school law book for my project.  I hated to see the book go in the garbage when I thought it could provide great papers for a card background.

Www.seejanestamp.com bloghop1 (590x640)

Which is exactly what I did for this project and then took it a step further by using some of the paper and the flower frenzy bigz die to cut out some flowers.  I added a few so saffron flowers into the mix and a bit of wild wasabi for the leaves.

Www.seejanestamp.com bloghop2 (640x398)

I added a quick sentiment and a button and some twine.  I fooled around a bit with the twine until I decided to make it look like a flower as well.  I let both the sentiment and leaves go off the paper a bit.  I like that it looks a bit random and unkempt.

I hope I have inspired you to reuse old books for papers for your cards.  Anything would work!

March Pals Blog Hop...

Welcome to the March Pals Blog Hop where we are celebrating spring. This month we are featuring spring related projects for Mother’s Day, Easter or any other occasion that celebrates winter coming to an end.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Debbie Crowley at expressively deb… on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

Today’s project is all about spring!  Tis the season to start thinking about planting a garden.  So I decided to make my own garden using the picks from the Handpicked framelits.  I cut several out of pear pizzazz, perfect plum, so saffron and one from whisper white.  Then I randomly stamped sentiments from the From the Garden stamp set.

Www.seejanestamp.com 1 (640x502)But I am ahead of myself here!  I have buried the lead!  When I started on this card I knew two things – I would use the handpicked framelits and I was going to use the simply pressed clay.  I used my pear pizzazz reinker to color the clay and then worked the color through until I achieved the shade I wanted.  I squashed (technical term!) the clay into the spring flowers embossing folder.  After that, I ran the clay filled embossing folder through the big shot and boy did the clay ooze out the edges!  But that was OK.  I pulled all the clay off the embossing folder and set aside to let it dry.

Www.seejanestamp.com 2 (640x521)After it was fully dry, I cut a hilly shape and proceeded to add the picks to the crumbcake layer that I also ran through the spring flowers embossing folder.  I glued some of the picks down and others I popped up on dimensionals.  I used the fast fuse to adhere the clay.  My final touch was the white pick with a spring sentiment.  I wanted to draw your eye in before it wondered to the other picks.

One more look:

I hope you enjoyed this project and inspired you to use the clay.  It really is an overlooked product!

Pals Blog Hop - February...

Welcome to the February Pals Blog Hop. This month we are sharing what we love - our favorite Stampin' Up! products and our favorite crafting techniques.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Candy Ford at Stamp Candy. Use the full lineup below to move along from blog to blog so you see all of the new projects.

Hello all!  I have many favorite SU! products so it is very hard to choose just one!  But I did (I think!).  I love embossing folders – such a quick and easy way to add some texture to your card.  I used two different embossing folders on this project – the ampersand and lovely lace.

Today’s project is a shaker card. I thought it was a great way to show off the ampersand embossing folder.  By keeping the layers thin and not popping them up, the sequins would have some movement but not too much.

Www.seejanestamp.com 5 (538x640)I opted to use a piece of vellum for the bottom layer of the shaker (embossed with the ampersand) and a window sheet (also embossed with the ampersand).  They fit together nicely, achieving what I wanted with limited movement.

Www.seejanestamp.com 6 (640x497)The window framelits created the perfect frame.  A few pearls and I was done.

January Pals Blog Hop...Occasions...

Welcome to the first Pals Blog Hop of 2015. We hope your new year is off to a great creative start. To celebrate the start of a new Stampin' Up! year, we are showcasing products from our newest catalog this month - the Occasions catalog. You may also see new Sale-a-bration products too. If you don't know how to earn free Sale-a-bration products - contact your Stampin' Up! demonstrator to learn more.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Nancy Gleason at My Stampin Space. Use the full lineup below to move along from blog to blog so you see all of the new projects.

Hello and welcome!  My favorite new stamp set has to be Lotus Blossom from the Sale-a-bration catalog!

Www.seejanestamp.com 3 (640x601)I love how quick and easy it is to whip up a beautiful card that looks like you spent some serious time putting it together!  Then there is the Birthday Bash washi sheets.  These could be easy to overlook – but here is what’s so great about them – cut off a hunk of washi, stick it to some cardstock and die cut.  Easy peasy.  No trying to line up washi tape.  And it is that washi background that makes this card work so well.  It takes this card from average to excellent!

Www.seejanestamp.com 4 (640x479)With a little help from my friends, pool party and Bermuda bay, I stamped the image and sentiment.  A few of the Bermuda bay sequins (love!), adds a bit of flash.  I pulled out my large polka dot embossing folder to add a bit more texture to the card base and then added some white twine and a button.  By using the washi sheets, you could bust out several of these cards in different colors and impress all of your friends and neighbors!  Thanks for stopping by!

December Pals Blog Hop...

Welcome to the last Pals Blog Hop of 2014. This month we want to help you start your holiday wish list by sharing projects featuring our favorite Stampin’ Up! papers, stamps, tools and accessories. Get your wish list ready as you move along through the blog hop.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Susan Itell at Simple Stampin on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the projects.

Happy Holidays everyone!  I was a bit stumped on what I would showcase for you today until I remembered the one thing that I gave out last year as gifts – gift cards.  I usually just leave them on the little cards they come on and wrap them up.  But no more!

Www.seejanestamp.com 1 (640x271)The gift card envelope is the answer to my boring gift giving ways!  It is easy peasy to cut a card holder, decorate, fold, and seal!  Your gift card recipients will appreciate the gift card holder almost as much as the card inside!

Www.seejanestamp.com 2 (640x446)

Www.seejanestamp.com 3 (640x423)I made two gift holders – same idea, different colors.  I added some serious bling with all that glitter paper.  I am reasonably sure that if I were to walk outside, they could see me from the space station!  That is how much glitter I managed to get all over me!  I will be cleaning up glitter for days!  But it is well worth it, the added little oomph is a good thing!

Www.seejanestamp.com 5 (640x383)

(I am sorry this last picture is so dark - I wanted an overview of the two holders flat and I am afraid that my shadow got in the picture!!)

I originally lined these holders and I learned a valuable lesson – if you choose to line the holder, cut the pieces separately, otherwise it is harder and bulker to fold.  Learn from my mistake!  Here is the other thing I learned, if your button is heavy, the holders lean!

Go forth and use your gift card envelope with glee!

Thanks for stopping by today!
