It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s a color challenge to use misty moonlight, copper clay, white, and a neutral.

I needed a retirement card and just got my gone fishing dies so perfect timing!  I started by stamping a background from my SU! gorgeous leaves stamp set.  I think it’s supposed to be a woodgrain but it is doubling for my water.  I used misty moonlight ink after I stamped it off once.

I die cut the bobber three times in white and then once in copper clay (leftover pieces that had been woodgrain embossed).  I layered up the bobber and then added the copper clay on the bottom half and for the hook.  I stamped my sentiment and then ran it through my twisted rope embossing folder.

After that I layered the white on some black and then on the misty moonlight base.  I am super happy with the results and also hope the recipient recognizes the fishing tackle.  LOL!

Today, it's welcome to not only a new challenge at As You See It but the start of a new way of doing things. With the retirement of Amanda, our Designer Emeritus, the crew is taking on the task of designing the weekly challenges on a rotating basis. In addition, we've decided to use a regular rotation of six styles of challenge. In future, you'll be seeing a sketch, a colour challenge, a fill-in-the-blank, a recipe (where you're given ingredients you have to use), a theme and finally a speed challenge. Then back to the beginning.

Our team leader, Heather, has started the ball rolling with this sweet sketch challenge.  I love a great sketch so I set to work making a retirement card.

I started with a base of delightful Dijon.  A bit of travel themed paper backed with tranquil tide kept with the retirement theme.

I stamped the travel trailer directly on the Dijon and backed it with a bit of tranquil tide as well.  Finally I used my washi tape dies to create a sentiment and was done.

It’s a new challenge for As You See It!  It’s a fun sketch so make sure you play along!

I started by attaching several pieces of pattern paper to white cardstock.  Then I die cut the rectangle shape using my double stitched dies.  I then backed the piece with some perfect plum.

I attached the rectangle to the white card base and then added a popped up sentiment and some bling.  This card is going to a dear friend who is retiring and who also loves purple!

A friend of mine recently retired so we threw a small retirement party for her.  I was in charge of the card, of course.  So I used my Altenew Painted Butterflies to create this card.  The flourish is from the SU! Everything Eleanor stamp set and the sentiment is from some of my PTI sentiment stamp sets.

We gave her a gift certificate and “ordered” her to only use it on herself!  Lynn is a very delightful and sharing person so we wanted to make sure that she spoiled herself this time!
