Sketch Challenge

Roses For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s a sketch challenge!

#284 9.23.2022

I started by stamping and coloring some of the roses from the SU! Happiness Abounds stamp set.  I die cut them and then die cut some white card stock for the sketch.

I added a piece of petal pink under the white card front, stamped the sentiment and then layered all together.  I love the peekaboo die cut and think it adds a bit of interest that brightens up the card.

Feeling Peaceful For AYSI...

It’s a new challenge at As You See It!  It’s a sketch challenge!

#278 7.1.2022

I started with some images to create a bit of a monochromatic winter scene.  Trees, cabin and deer feel a bit wintery to me.  Or maybe I am already dreaming of winter?  Yikes!  What am I thinking!

I added the sentiment and die cut using my deckled edges rectangles, popped up on the card base and was done.

Retro Rubber Challenge 180...

It’s a new Retro Rubber Challenge!  It’s a sketch challenge!

RRCB 180

I had many stops and starts on this one and ended up with something super clean and simple.  More simple than I intended for sure!  I cut some pattern papers and backed with crisp cantaloupe and adhered to the card front.

Www.seejanestamp.com rrcb 180 1

I stamped the sentiment from my Neat and Tangled Scandinavian Flowers stamp set from 2015, die cut and popped up on the card.  Done after about three hours of different ideas.  Sometimes I find the simpler the sketch, the harder it is.  Too many options!  Hopefully you won’t be stymied!

#272 4.8.2022

I started by using my butterfly cover plate which has five rows of butterflies.  Perfect for this sketch!  I adhered it to a crumbcake card base and added the sentiment.

I punched some bitty butterflies in bright colors and then adhered randomly.  A bit of bling completes the card.

Pack Your Bags...

I had time this weekend to make up a card that fits three challenges.  I am playing along with The Paper Players (theme challenge of love and friendship), The Card Concept (I was inspired by the colors to make my clean and layered card) and Sunday Stamps (that provided the sketch)!

Www.seejanestamp.com cc pp ss 1

I dug out my PTI pack your bags stamp set that hasn’t seen the light of day in a long while for the sentiment and used my dies to cut two pieces of luggage that I adhered to a white card front.

Www.seejanestamp.com cc pp ss 2

I die cut the card front and a piece of pattern paper and arranged them according to the sketch.  Finally, I added the sentiment which could be used for love or friendship.  This was a fun card to make but it was because these three challenges worked beautifully together.

Supplies:  CS:  PTI white and pattern paper.  SU! old olive.  Stamps:  PTI pack your bags.  Dies:  SU! stitched rectangles.  PTI linen and pack your bags.

A Snowman In Winter...

I have not played along with any challenges in I don’t know how long but mojo struck so I thought I would give it a try!  I am playing along with the sketch from The Paper Players and the colors from The Card Concept.  It’s a clean and layered card and I am quite pleased with the results.

I started with stamping the fence in Sahara sand and soft suede directly on the card base.  I stamped the snowman in London fog and added the hat, arms, and face before die cutting it.

Www.seejanestamp.com pp cc 1

I stamped, cut and then added the bits of garland and a couple of birds to the fence before adding the snowdrift and snowman.  The sentiment is contrary to a snowman’s wishes – he would want cold blessings!

Www.seejanestamp.com pp cc 2

This card really came together for both challenges – the sketch showcases the colors and wintery inspiration for the card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Supplies:  CS:  PTI white.  SU! real red.  Inks:  Memento London fog and black.  SU! soft suede, Sahara sand, mossy meadow, real red and pumpkin pie.  Dies:  MFT stitched snowdrifts.  PTI linen plate and fence line – winter.  Memory Box resting birds.  Stamps:  PTI fence line – winter and just sentiments – warmth.

Best Fishes For AYSI...

It’s a new year and a new challenge at As You See It!  A lovely sketch challenge to kick off the year!

#266 1.14.2022

I started by die cutting two triangles, one in white and one in pattern paper.  I cut the base down to make a 4 X 4 card to create a cozier looking card.

Www.seejanestamp.com aysi 266 1

I stamped the jar, fish, ribbon and sentiment and then die cut and adhered together.  I used a bit of pool party for the water in the jar.  I popped the jar and sentiment up and added some clear dots to look like bubbles.  I quite like how it all came together.
